I was gifted this at age 12 and absolutely loved it: a fresh, salty, barely bitter opening that evoked sea breeze and salt air, not a sun-baked beach. I distinctly recall notes of tomato and basil. It had a masculine profile but with a floral contrast that made it unisex. Then the woods settled in—the ever-present cypress, salty sandalwood, soft floral ylang-ylang, and creamy musk. Nothing dominated; it lasted forever. I wore it everything, kept the bottle, and now I regret it and search for it desperately. I’ve tried to recreate it at home; similar things come out, but nothing is as harmonious due to poor oil quality, like the rose. The rose-cypress accord with a basil halo was beautiful. This longing introduced me to the world of olfactory chemistry. Unlike other marine scents, this was green and aromatic, and I haven’t found another like it. If anyone has it and wants to swap, message me and we’ll arrange it, or if you know of a similar one… The opening of Agua de Loewe for Her reminds me of something, but then it’s very different and doesn’t last at all. A bit of Jardin du Mr. Li seems to be in the same aromatic family, but I haven’t found that masculine-feminine contrast, aquatic green, and floral blend. Once I smelled a very similar perfume on a man, and since I didn’t ask, I’m left wondering. Details: launched in 1998, green floral fragrance. Top notes: tomato leaves, cypress; heart notes: freesia, peony, rose, ylang-ylang; base notes: musk and sandalwood.
