Vanilla Fields by Coty

It’s my favorite perfume. I picked it up in 2023 at Walmart in the US. It has vanilla, musk, and coconut—a combo that’s indescribable. I used to wear it all the time because I had it at the grocery store, and now I have a new bottle—yupiii!

I bought this on a snowy winter day in the 90s, and the weather was perfect for wearing it. I felt wrapped in a tender, warm, and sweet scent—one that doesn’t get old and lasts through time, good for anyone. Years later, I tried Warm Vanilla Sugar by Bath & Body Works and thought they smelled the same, but when I bought Vanilla Fields again, I realized they’re nothing alike. I don’t use it anymore because the spray smells super strong, like vanilla liquor (maybe they reformulated it), and the liquid is darker. I keep it as a memory and sometimes use it to freshen up the room.

Powdery vanilla! It’s a blast of vanilla wrapped in talc. It’s sweet but not cloying, though if you overdo it, it can get overwhelming because the sillage and longevity are strong, at least on my skin. It’s for not going unnoticed—classic, elegant, and affordable, though a bit matronly.

My Vanilla Fields is more than just simple vanilla. It opens with very noticeable coconut bathed in lemon, followed by white flowers where jasmine stands out. Minutes later, a lovely vanilla makes a triumphant entrance with sweetness, tonka bean, amber, musk, and shy woods. Yes, the notes feel synthetic, but the perfume is beautiful, warm, embraces the senses, comforts, and relaxes. It tells the story of a sweet, woody, spiced, and very powdery vanilla, where unexpectedly, petals of white flowers take flight. It’s tender, feminine, ethereal, simple, pleasant, and comforting—perfect for relaxing and feeling good, ideal for those who love vanilla. It’s like a pretty, fun, pleasant girl with a huge smile. Its sillage and longevity are soft, the price very accessible—a beautiful perfume within everyone’s reach.

I remember it from the 90s; I loved it: vanilla, sweet, and meadow flowers made into a perfume with so much delicacy and softness, a gem. I just didn’t pay much attention, and it didn’t last long (other friends said it lasted longer on them—it’s all about pH). I really liked it back then; a very lovely scent.

This guy is Vanilla—that’s how I’d describe him. It’s for girls, not for going out partying or passionate nights or anything wild. It’s friendly, serious, like that geeky and cute girl from the corner of the classroom. It’s discreet but doesn’t go unnoticed; it’s as close to pure vanilla as you can get. I’d recommend it for a chill outing, an evening, going to the movies, or a relaxed gathering. Overall, I give it a 7.5.

It reminds me of being 13, wanting to look older by painting my nails, wearing my mom’s heels, and using perfume. I still have my original Vanilla Fields from back then (1994 or 1995). It ran out halfway because the cap broke and the liquid darkened, but even with the lid off, it still smells strong. It smells like natural, melancholic, dreamy vanilla. If I’m not mistaken, it’s still not discontinued, so I’ll buy it again. On my skin, it doesn’t smell sophisticated or sexy like I swore it would at 13, but I’ll use it to relive those happy, innocent times.

Smells like sweet vanilla, but not cloying. It’s the only one I’ve tried that’s almost pure vanilla. What a shame it’s running out since I only have the mini.
