Phantom Intense by Rabanne

DISAPPOINTED BY ITS PERFORMANCE: The scent is pleasant, very reminiscent of the original but with a more herbal opening that fades quickly. Lavender/vanilla stand out with a subtle woody touch; it’s a more versatile flanker that ends up sweeter than it starts. Unfortunately, it didn’t generate any compliments or negative comments; that department is lacking. I find it relatively versatile for day and night, heat (not extreme or beach) and cold, for casual wear; I wouldn’t use it for sports, the gym, the office, or formal events. It’s a daily fragrance, maybe for a date, but I’d probably choose something else. Its performance disappointed me; it claims to be Eau de Parfum Intense but lasted only 6 hours with low sillage and projection, so it wasn’t very noticeable to me or others. The price, for what it offers in performance, seems excessive, almost a rip-off, too expensive for what you get. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone; just my personal experience. Compliments: 5, Longevity: 6, Projection: 4, Sillage: 4, Price: 4. TOTAL: 4.6

I love this perfume; it’s the best in the line.

I own the Original and the Elixir. This Intense follows the path of the original with several modifications. Almost the same opening, but the dry down changes the sharp or stinging character of the original for a sweet caramelized touch, like TMWI. It smells good. Among the three, I prefer the Elixir as it offers something different, however, this one isn’t bad; if you like the original but want something less ‘sharp’, go for this one. In terms of longevity, it fell short compared to the other two. We’ll see if it improves with time…

Just tested this… 4 huge noses behind me. The result is an earthy, vanilla-scented perfume with a caramelized citrus opening that I didn’t perceive in other flankers. Then lavender and slightly resinous vanilla, and nothing else. Its performance is weak compared to the parfum; in my opinion, the parfum is much more substantial and long-lasting than this one. I didn’t like it at all.

The notes are wrong; you’re listing the same notes as Phantom Parfum, and it has nothing to do with it. On the other hand, the Phantom line is by far the worst in Paco Rabanne; not a single one saves the day, not even the bottle is horrible. I thought this could be interesting, but it wasn’t either. Invictus, One Million, and the XS ones they no longer release and were the best are what’s worth it. I wouldn’t use the Phantom ones even if they were given to me.

For me, this is the definitive Phantom. That orange and vanilla blend is brutal. The performance is top-tier for PR; they never miss. Projection is light, nothing heavy, but enough to get noticed. In short, a good perfume: 8/10.

It reminds me a lot of Versace Eros Flame, probably due to the geranium, vetiver, vanilla, and cedar. Honestly, it smells like a generic party fragrance for teenagers; it adds nothing new. You can pick up a stone and find ten dupes. The opening is rich, but the heart and dry down are very similar to Eros Flame or the original. I wouldn’t buy it or recommend it.

I don’t understand some of the comparisons; I don’t see the resemblance to what they mention. It’s the classic Phantom but fresher, with reduced sweetness, making it more wearable for daily use. It’s not cloying, ideal for everyday wear and I think for any climate, though in extreme heat there are better options. It’s the one I’ve liked most from this brand.

Acceptable longevity, but it’s a very ordinary perfume… Try it before you buy, don’t waste your money on these perfumes…

It follows the Phantom line DNA, but despite the ‘Intense’ in the name, that’s the only thing. It doesn’t improve projection or performance. It has a citrus opening that turns sweet and vanilla, almost identical to the previous Phantom Parfum. I think the Intense is more wearable, though it can get cloying if you overapply. Good longevity of 7-8 hours on skin and strong projection for the first 2-3 hours. Good for outings in cool weather, though less so than the Parfum; this one even suits daily wear better. Price is a bit high at $100; if you find it cheaper at duty-free or on sale, it’s fine, otherwise I don’t think it’s worth it. Ratings: 7/10 Value, 5/10 Price, 7/10 Longevity, 7/10 Projection, 8.4/10 Scent.

Citrus and spicy opening with sweet notes that become noticeable gradually. To me, it’s exactly the same as its predecessor, Phantom Parfum, except for a citrus opening that later turns sweet, not heavy but noticeable. I see it as versatile for daily wear, but not for hot climates because it can get cloying. Longevity is average, depending on the person, but it doesn’t drop below 6 hours on skin, projecting well during the first hour without issues.

This is the best Phantom I’ve tried, even though I haven’t tested the Legion version. It has a very conquering opening, though nothing groundbreaking; it’s an outstanding fragrance.

It’s undeniably pleasant, but you need to like modern, sweet, and spicy scents. I like it dry, but it wears off on me very quickly.

You can also detect a hint of lavender, but the main focus is the spicy and woody accords. Being fruity and spicy, it could be worn on fresh days like early spring, but mainly in autumn and winter; never in heat, especially with what we’re experiencing in 2024. Suitable situations are casual rather than formal: school, hangouts with friends, or nights out. Regarding longevity, it’s been very good, over 10 hours, with a noticeable trail in the first few hours. It’s undeniably a pleasant fragrance, but you must like modern, sweet, and spicy scents to enjoy it. Personally, I like it dry, but the scent tires me out very quickly.

So: nothing new, I expected something fresher and in the end it is, but basically it’s a refined version of the Parfum. That said, it projects like a beast for a good while, then tames down and stays close to the skin for a bit. I like that it’s refillable.
