Idôle Aura by Lancôme is a musky floral woody fragrance for women. Launched in 2021, this composition was created by Shyamala Maisondieu, Adriana Medina-Baez, and Nadege le Garlantezec. The top notes reveal sea salt, rose, and bergamot; the floral heart unfolds with rose and jasmine; while the base notes complete the olfactory pyramid with bourbon vanilla, sea salt, musk, and heliotrope.

It’s so, so, so delicious! I tried it because I love the original and I loved it too… And soon I’m running to buy it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • What a delicious scent! I bought it blindly and I’m very happy; it’s my first perfume with a salt note and I didn’t know if I’d like it, oh surprise! The mix of salt, roses, vanilla, and musk is soft, delicate, but very rich and distinct from my other perfumes. I get a bit of watermelon (I know it’s crazy, it’s not in the notes), it’s totally different from the original Idole; in fact, I like Aura more, it’s a bit fresher. I must mention that on my skin, the sillage and longevity aren’t very high, unlike the other Lancômes I own, but I’ll enjoy it a lot because the scent has won me over. I’m testing it in full winter, maybe it will be different in summer.

  • MonRebeca

What I notice most is a soft, slightly powdery rose with salt. It’s perfect for spring and summer. It’s gorgeous and lasts quite well. I’m definitely keeping this one!

  • pandapelusa9

It literally reminds me of a floral soap. It’s not heavy on my skin and I see it more for daytime than nighttime. It evokes cleanliness, beach, and summer… The only thing that could be a drawback is that it’s a fairly simple scent, nothing complex or novel. Coming from Lancôme and at its price, I don’t think I’d buy it again.

  • To me, it’s a forgettable perfume: it’s an Idole with fresh rose and musk, with a watery and salty touch at first, but with minimal projection and very short longevity (about two hours on my skin). It’s a simple, daytime scent but too soft and lacking charisma. I wouldn’t buy it even if it were cheap, let alone at Lancôme prices. Maybe it suits more sensitive noses, but in my opinion, it’s not worth it. If what scares you is the salt, here it’s very toned down (far from Olympea or Reveal). Scent 4/10, longevity 2/10, sillage 3/10, value for money 3/10, versatility 2/10, packaging 8.5/10. Would I buy it again? No.

I love this flanker! I feel very comfortable with it. The salt note is soft, and mixed with the rose, vanilla, and musk, it makes it a go-to when you don’t know what to wear. I think it can be worn all year, although I see it more for daytime. A 10/10!

  • It was my wedding perfume; I simply couldn’t find anything more romantic. It evolves quite a bit on my skin; I get bothered a bit when the rose dominates, but in the end, the vanilla wins. Although it’s very sunny, it seems too sweet for a scorching summer like this one, so I’ve almost never used it. I’ll save it for spring.

  • It’s so simple to describe that it smells like sunscreen: automatic, beach, sun, and salty vanilla. I’m not disgusted by it, but it’s that familiar beach smell everyone has, which makes me not want to buy it. Maybe if it had been marketed as such, with beach advertising, I would have been more surprised. I wonder when to wear it: it’s very informal, doesn’t work for work or going out at night. If I want to smell like sunscreen, I prefer putting on sunscreen and a normal vanilla spray.

  • Humid, sticky spring: on my skin, the salt mixes with jasmine, then vanilla, and turns earthy; without the salt, I’d say it’s patchouli. Don’t buy it blindly! Test it to see its evolution. For summer… hmm, I’m not sure. Honestly, it doesn’t seem like the hype everyone says. Nothing like Idole EDP, which is beautiful, delicate, and fresh.

  • Tundraboreal

Takes me straight to the beach: sunscreen, sweet lotions, and a delicious scent. Definitely recommend it for sunny days!

  • VanillaDream

Beautiful fragrance. Cheerful, sunny, and slightly salty. For me, this should be the ‘Olympea Solar’ and not that bland jasmine-and-sugar thing PR released under that name. Seriously, for me, it would be a lovely flanker for Olympea.

  • I feel like it’s similar to a perfume I’ve smelled before, but it’s not on the list. Seriously, sometimes it reminds me of Flower by Kenzo, but it’s not; or maybe some perfume I smelled in my childhood. The truth is, I just love it.

  • When I tested it in the store, I loved that salty scent; it was what caught my attention most, so I bought it. When I got home and put it on again, the roses came out—some slightly wilted, I’d say. I’m not disgusted by its aroma, but it doesn’t wow me; it will take me a while to finish the bottle.

  • After 36 years, I’ve realized that all the perfumes I adore have vanilla, jasmine, or both. They gave me a sample, and I loved it instantly. I bought it two days ago and didn’t know what it reminded me of until I figured it out. It has something very similar to my beloved Organza Indecente 🥰, of which I have very little left (discontinued years ago). I love it and it lasts forever. I’m very satisfied.

  • I love salty perfumes, and this is no exception… Out of all the Idoles, this is my favorite so far. If you don’t like roses, you probably won’t like this. It’s the winter version of the original: it loses the initial brightness and gains the salt (very subtle, so even if you hate salty notes, you might still like it), boosting the vanilla to make it sweeter and warmer. I’m not a rose fan, but this fragrance is changing my mind. It’s very feminine and delicate, perfect for cool days, blending beautifully with jasmine and vanilla. On me, it has good projection, moderate to high, and lasts 6-7 hours. I have a decant on my wishlist. To me, it’s similar to the original, so it’s not worth having both (unless it’s your signature), and out of all versions, this is the one I’d stick with. EDIT: I couldn’t resist and already have it; I like it more and more each day. EDIT 2: I bought a refill; it’s one of my favorites.

  • Bárbara Lizama

At first, it killed me, but now I love it. On me, it smells like exquisite salty vanilla. Moderate trail and lasts about 12 hours on my skin.

  • Muffimals

I have a soft spot for it because I bought it specifically for my wedding to have unique memories, so I won’t finish the bottle. If anyone wants decants, just message me.

  • LORENA75__

The worst fragrance I’ve ever tried in my life. Smells like a cemetery. Totally horrifying.

  • My favorite Idôle flanker so far. It’s different from any perfume of mine and from the original, which doesn’t grab me. Here, they ditch the powder and go for gourmand, but summery. It reminds me of the sea and the beach. Although they won’t admit it, I sense solar or aquatic notes. The salt blends perfectly with the vanilla, creating an exquisite complement. It’s incredible, different from other salty scents like Olympea or Scandal Le Parfum—cuter, more enjoyable, and addictive.

Generally, I thought the entire Idole line was clone after clone; I got the Néctar flanker a year ago, but mostly for the iridescent bottle rather than the scent (super pretty, but not much difference from the original). The whole line is roses and more roses, with vanilla to avoid being too powdery, nothing special… But how wrong I was. Today I tested a sample of Idole Aura and wow, how pretty. It didn’t blow my mind, but it has personality and its own flow. The salt really stands out; I’ve loved it: beachy roses 🏝️, a juicy rose surrounded by sand and sun ☀️ with creamy vanilla touches. It’s full winter with 10-degree weather and a cold nose, but smelling it on my arm sends me straight to the beach 🏖️. Very beautiful scent, little evolution on me, but it projects well in the cold. I suppose in heat it will be a bomb 💣 Scent 👃: 9/10 Longevity 🔋: ❓ Sillage 🌬️: ❓ Bottle 🏺: 6/10 Vibe 🌡️: ⛱️ Occasions: all day ☀️ at any time.

I bought Lancôme skincare products and received a free sample. Oh my… I fell in love so hard that I smelled that little bottle every day just to not forget the scent. Today I finally bought it: it smells sweet and salty, gourmand, like summer. So feminine and delicious. There’s nothing in my collection that resembles it; it’s a delight.

  • MarceloRossi

My girlfriend’s fragrance, exquisite. Full salty rose opening, drying down to an intense but not cloying vanilla. Versatile and sophisticated.

  • If you’re looking for a perfume that genuinely works all year round, here it is. It’s excellent, extremely balanced—neither too light nor too heavy. It has the signature rose heart of Lancôme, sea salt adds a beachy touch, and bergamot brings freshness. The base notes keep it from being too fresh. It lasts FOREVER on clothes, literally days. It’s unique and a total people pleaser. Summably balanced and beautiful. The only time I wouldn’t wear it is in summer with intense heat; it could be overwhelming. Otherwise, it’s super versatile and feminine. Very girly but with presence. One of the best flankers of Idole.

  • An extraordinary perfume that will pass unnoticed without making a scene. In my opinion, Idôle Aura crushes the original.

  • In this flanker of Idôle, I find roses wrapped in vanilla and lots of sea salt, like being at the beach feeling the sand and other people’s scents. It feels coastal and summery, then shifts to a clean bath scent, finally settling into intense vanilla. I think it’s original and pretty, but it didn’t blow my mind; I bought it blindly for the price. It doesn’t last long and has weak sillage.

  • I thought I’d never like roses in perfumes until I tried this. I smelled it in-store and couldn’t stop thinking about it until I bought it. The salty note hit me hard, something I’d never smelled before. What a rich combination: roses wrapped in salty vanilla. I love it 😍 The powdery rose dry-down is pure bliss.

  • Love at first sniff. I love it for summer; it smells like the beach to me. Absolutely delicious. Unlike others, I see it as quite feminine at the same time.

  • Vanilla, sea salt, and rose: my summer pick. Projects well, though it doesn’t last long. It’s delicious and pleasant—not clean, but more perfumed and feminine, perfect for spring or summer. Ideal with a dress because of its super feminine vibe. The light coral-pink bottle perfectly reflects the scent.

  • Horrible; it gives me a headache. It has nothing youthful about it. I tried it four times and got two bad reviews: one from a kid who said it smelled like a hospital, and another from a coworker who said it smelled like an old lady. The rose scent is like a wilting rose.

  • lorecitasdecolores1158

It turned out too strong for me; just one spray gave me an almost instant headache. I went by comments saying it was fresh for summer, but it didn’t seem that way to me. I tried it in winter too, and it didn’t work either; I detect an incense smell, I’m not sure what note causes it, maybe the salt. It’s the only Idole I didn’t like. I recommend trying it first. UPDATE: I gave it another chance. Two months have passed, and this time it’s a beautiful scent of exquisite salty vanilla roses. It’s gorgeous. I no longer smell anything weird. It’s summer here, and it fits perfectly even with high temperatures.

  • I love the Lancôme Idôle line, but unfortunately, this is the worst of the ‘flankersteins’ they’ve released. It smells like sunscreen, and for that, it’s not worth the price. It seems too basic and forgettable; it failed to captivate despite joining the vanilla-and-salt trend. I’ll definitely stick with the Idôle EDP original, the EDT, and the Idôle Néctar.

  • Appleidol

I love it… sweet without being overwhelming, without feeling synthetic. Musky without being powdery. Heliotrope without feeling old and vintage. Rosey without being overwhelming or grandma-like. Salty without smelling like food…

  • It’s a beachy but intense scent, giving off an elegant sunscreen vibe. Personally, it seems too strong for spring-summer, and due to the sunscreen smell, I wouldn’t wear it in fall-winter. I wanted to love it but couldn’t.

  • Idole Aura was the first Idole I loved. It felt different to me, like a tender talc but with more complexity and brightness… I imagined it for summer with white clothes. After almost a year: it’s fresh from the bergamot and salt, which lingers and evokes summer. The rose is noticeable with heliotrope and musk, giving it a powdery touch. Surprise: it’s not for extreme heat. In my city at 40°C, it fades quickly, and when it does, it becomes suffocating. It’s odd; it smells like fresh salty roses, screams summer, but it doesn’t work. It’s rich if it doesn’t exceed 30°C; otherwise, it gets heavy. Under ideal conditions (30°C or less), it’s a beauty. Delicious scent, elegant, youthful, projects well, and lasts perfectly, maybe 8 hours or more. I’d wear it on fresh days and nights (around 24°C); it’s not a night scent but works great for a casual outing. Seasons: spring, fall, and not-too-cold winter. Today is my favorite Idole. P.S.: If you’re looking for an Idole for summer, the EDT is ideal. Fresh, clean, luxurious, just try it first because the tea note can be heavy for some. The Idole OG is also great for summer.

  • Vanilla, salt, and heliotrope, but I don’t feel anything else… it’s flat and boring. It didn’t speak to me; maybe I expected more. You can tell it has the DNA of Idole, which I don’t like, but this is softer and more wearable.
