A floral, powdery vanilla that hooks me more than the original because it lacks that citrus touch. It’s cozy and sweet, with a light floral note where the vanilla and tonka bean shine through, giving it a gourmand vibe. As it dries down, it reminds me of Jeanne Arthes’ Guipure & Silk Ylang Vanille and the end of Zara’s Hypnotic Vanilla, but more intense. It must contain musk, even if they don’t list it. On me, it lasts 6 hours with noticeable projection throughout. If I find another bottle, I’m definitely buying it; it’s the ideal all-rounder for fall/winter at home or out in the country, and it doesn’t bother me in summer either. It’s a floral-vanilla scent with a touch of tar that I love even more than the original, because this one lacks that citrus note that just doesn’t work for me. It’s cozy and sweet, with vanilla and tonka bean making it gourmand. As it dries down, it smells like Jeanne Arthes’ Guipure & Silk Ylang Vanille and Zara’s Hypnotic Vanilla, but more intense. Although they don’t say it, it smells of musk. On me, it lasts 6 hours with good projection. On my skin, it’s bland: just soft vanilla and nothing else. It lasted about 6 hours clinging to my skin.
This flanker smells the same as the original but without the bergamot, which I absolutely hate (it turns plastic and bitter). The peony smells a bit artificial at first, but after 20 minutes, it transforms into a delicious tar-and-vanilla blend. It lasts 3-4 hours with moderate sillage and smells of vanilla, though I sometimes detect the tonka bean. It seems to pay homage to Dior’s Hypnotic Poison EDT, but it’s neither a dupe nor a direct inspiration. Scent: 8/10, Longevity: 6/10, Sillage: 5/10, Value: 8/10, Packaging: 7/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.
