I absolutely love iris in perfumery! This one is a masterpiece. It has an exquisite and fresh opening; I highly recommend it. It lasts between six and seven hours and is rich yet easy to wear.
I love this fragrance; it reminds me of something, but I’m not entirely sure what. What I do know is that it doesn’t resemble Santal 33 or its wonderful offspring Bravo; I know those well, and they don’t remind me of this one.
At first, it smells like Bravo Monsieur, and as it dries down, it becomes Dior Homme. On my skin, it projects well for about two hours, and on fabric, up to four or five hours. Recommended; it’s one of my favorites from Zara and, in my opinion, the best in the woody line.
The opening has nothing to do with Bravo Monsieur (that opening is spicy and synthetic); this one starts with sweet iris and woods, but its iris isn’t powdery—it’s floral, fresh, and slightly mentholated. This floral note lasts about an hour; from then on, it remains in the fragrance but very lightly. After that hour, the stars of the show take over: Palo Santo, Cedar, and Cashmere; this phase lasts between one and two hours. The final phase (another 3 hours) leaves only Palo Santo and Cedar. Skin longevity: 5 to 6 hours. Clothing longevity: 8 to 9 hours.
To me, this smells totally like JPG Le Beau Le Parfum; I’ve never heard of Santal 33 or Dior Homme, but I definitely recognize this JPG scent, and they seem way too similar even without the coconut note. It’s a perfume I really like, and honestly, it lasts quite a bit on skin (5 to 6 hours) and projects beyond the arm for about 3 hours. Here in Chile, for 18,000 pesos, it’s a steal, I think (around $20). Would I recommend it? Absolutely 🙂
I wore it for a couple of days and from the very first moment, it reminded me a lot of the new Armani Code Parfum (I only tested it on samples). It’s not identical, but the scent takes me back to that olfactory memory. At Zara, there’s a very prominent iris at the start with a certain freshness that gradually sweetens as it dries down without becoming gourmand (perhaps that’s why I associate it with ACP). As for the coffee… more of an accord than a note. It doesn’t smell like coffee at any point, but as it dries down (especially on clothes), it reminds me of that aroma. In my opinion, it’s a perfectly fine perfume.
What a wonderful fragrance! The dry-down is simply exquisite.
Today I tested this perfume at Zara and the first thing it reminded me of was Givenchy’s Gentleman, but after a few minutes I started remembering better and it seemed much more like ‘Siesta’ by Ramón Monegal: the same soft, creamy iris, with those woody cedar notes (in this case palo santo) and tonka bean.
Last year, I had the luck of trying Blazing Mr Sam by Penhaligon’s, a masterpiece that restored my hope of finding unique scents (in a collection of over a hundred fragrances, I reached a point where nothing surprised me). A week ago, passing by Zara without any intention to buy, I tested several from the display and came across this fragrance that immediately reminded me of Blazing Mr Sam (but with a price difference of at least ten times). I left the store and had no choice but to return, but there wasn’t any new stock (only the tester). With nothing to do, I went to Zara’s website and found it for 199 pesos. I ordered it along with others on discount, and despite it not being on my list, I must confess it’s the scent I’ve liked the most of all the ones I’ve tried at Zara. What a great aroma; I’m thinking about buying several before they run out.
Delicious! Weird opening scent, like play-doh, at first impression, but the dry-down is amazing, sometimes the coffee wins and sometimes the cedar. It doesn’t resemble Givenchy Reserve Privé or Dior Homme, it’s a unique scent.
Wow! What a fragrance. I’ll start by saying I got it on a seasonal change sale for 10 pesos, but wow. Although I never felt the coffee, it’s a delicious and super versatile perfume; honestly, it’s the best I’ve tried at Zara. The best part is the longevity, 8 to 9 hours on skin and it still smelled on clothes the next day. The sillage is moderate but it holds up; I got it from the first batches.
A rich and affordable perfume. I recommend it.

I left the store and had no choice but to come back for it, but there wasn’t any new one (except the tester). Again with nothing to do, I went to Zara’s website and found it for 199 pesos. I ordered it along with others on discount and despite it not being on my list, I must confess it’s the scent I’ve liked the most of all I’ve tried at Zara. I’m not an expert on notes, but I can say it has nothing to do with Givenchy’s Reservé Privé nor Dior Homme Intense. I detect cedar, incense, and amberwood, but not iris or coffee. It’s an interesting scent; I’ve worn it in cold and heat, day and night, and it really doesn’t disappoint. It lasts up to 12 hours on skin. In the heart, it feels very similar to Tommy Impact Spark (maybe due to the amberwood), but they aren’t the same. Totally recommended, I got it with a 40% discount and paid only 298 pesos.
The best of the entire WO line. It smells sweet yet masculine and mysterious. It has an exquisite dry-down that reminds me of Coca-Cola. Number 01 is a bit too innocent and number 02 is way too different. Number 03 is the perfect balance in this line.
Not much to say. If you over-spray, the olfactory fatigue is brutal. The cedar base is very prominent; the image is a closed room with cedar furniture, inevitably bringing back memories, but the coffee is non-existent. I’m still letting the opening macerate; new, it smells horrible but improves with time. It’s no surprise, all Zara perfumes are commercial and when they leave the factory they have little time to macerate. I don’t prefer it; WO/02 Wood Street seems the best in the line, however, I’ll keep it for next autumn. 2/5, there are better options.
At first, it’s overwhelming, almost indigestible. Once it settles, iris tones appear, though not real iris, but lily, wrapped in woods that, as someone else said, smell like freshly sharpened pencils. Then it tends to sweeten but always with a woody base. I don’t really detect the coffee. It’s different and projects well, but it’s meant to be enjoyed by yourself; you won’t get many compliments. I see it as good for moderate temperatures, like autumn and spring.
Incredible perfume for the price. Great longevity and good projection for a few hours. If you apply it on clothes, forget it, it lasts for days. On skin, it goes beyond 8 hours. As for the scent, it’s heading the path of Santal 33, Monsieur Brave, etc. If you like that type of perfume, this is one of yours.
I walked into the store and went crazy. It’s a challenge for a girl, but I’m adventurous with scents and I’ve already gotten compliments, so it must be my skin. On my skin, it smells like pepper that turns sweet in seconds with that cedar and lily root, a delight. Then there’s a sweet wood that lasts the entire projection, even on clothes it holds up pretty well considering the price. If you like those notes, try it, it’s worth it. 8 to 10 hours on skin, 3 to 4 hours of projection with moderate sillage. I’d definitely buy it again.
Why judge a perfume without giving it time? First impressions don’t tell the whole story. At Zara, we apply it to our hands and walk around the mall to see how it evolves. The initial comments are usually ‘I like it,’ ‘it’s weird but not bad,’ or ‘I don’t like it.’ These quick judgments tell us if it’s worth buying. But often, after visiting all the shops and choosing candidate bottles, weeks later they end up forgotten in the closet because they don’t fit our routine. Zara proves again that it offers sophisticated perfumes with a niche air and exclusive touches, as I mentioned in the LTH/01 review. Many people can’t afford to test these fragrances unless they are collectors or members of communities like Fragrantica. Here, Zara moves away from the Invictus family that already has us saturated. Instead, it presents a blend of woods, powdery iris, Iso E Super, Cedrol, Eugenol, and Irone, which from the very first moment evoke the smell of sharpening a pencil or freshly printed paper. Honestly, I don’t feel the coffee scent that Fragrantica mentions; here it’s pure wood over a creamy sandalwood. The iris disappears in fifteen or twenty minutes, giving way to benzaldehydes and a subtle incense. Maybe it reminds you of Santal 33, Bravo Monsieur, or Givenchy Reserve Privé, but it doesn’t fit into any olfactory family. It’s not bad, but if you notice, it has a woody and mysterious aura; on clothes, it lasts for days. On skin, it has a decent longevity of seven to eight hours. It’s a yes for stepping into exclusivity and for those who like this profile. I leave it in the back for days and then integrate it into my work routine. Scent: 8.5, Longevity: 8, Projection: 7.5, Versatility: 7, Feminine Perception: 8, Price: 10, Total: 8.2.
Incredible perfume for the price. Great longevity and decent projection for about two hours. If you spray it on clothes, forget about taking it off; it lasts for days. On skin, it goes on for 8 hours. The scent leans toward Santal 33, Bravo Monsieur, and similar fragrances. If you like that style, this one is definitely for you.
Why judge a perfume before giving it time? First impressions aren’t everything. At Zara, we apply it to our hands and go for a walk to see how it evolves. When bringing the hand close to the nose and letting others try it, initial judgments go from ‘I like it’ to ‘it’s horrible.’ These first data points give an idea, but later, after visiting all the stores, we sometimes buy candidate bottles that end up forgotten in the closet because they don’t fit our routine. Zara demonstrates again that it offers sophisticated perfumes with niche and exclusive vibes, as I mentioned in the LTH/01 STILL L.E.A.T.H.E.R. review. Many people can’t afford to test these fragrances unless they are collectors or members of communities like Fragrantica’s. This line moves away from the overused Invictus family, with which we are already saturated, and presents an aromatic blend of woods and powdery iris, combined with Iso E Super, Cedrol, Eugenol, and Irone, which stand out from the first moment, evoking sharpening a pencil or the smell of freshly printed paper. Honestly, I don’t perceive the coffee scent as Fragrantica’s website says (‘an intoxicating fusion…’). Here it’s pure wood over a creamy sandalwood; the iris note disappears in 15-20 minutes, giving way to benzaldehydes and a subtle incense. Maybe it reminds you of Santal 33, Le Labo’s Monsieur Brave, or Givenchy Reserve Privé, but it doesn’t fit any family. It’s not bad, but if it makes itself felt, it has a woody and mysterious aura; on clothes, it lasts for days. On skin, it decently lasts 7-8 hours. It’s a yes for entering exclusivity and for those who like this profile. I leave it in the back for days and then integrate it into my work routine. Scent: 8.5, Longevity: 8, Projection: 7.5, Versatility: 7, Feminine Perception: 8, Price: 10. Total: 8.2.
Unique and at an incredible price. I’m not exaggerating: among the more than twenty designer fragrances I own, I keep reaching for this one because it smells exquisite, it’s strong, and it lasts forever, which is very rare for Zara. 10/10, I wish people talked more about the great 2023 launch.
Unique and at an incredible price. I’m not exaggerating: among my 20+ designer perfumes, I still reach for this one because it smells exquisite, it’s strong, and it lasts forever (very rare for Zara). 10/10. I wish people talked more about Zara’s great launch in 2023.
Without testing it more, based on the scent, longevity, and projection, you shouldn’t complain: for what you pay, it’s a great product. I love the smell; it’s very rich. I sense the coffee at first, but what I like most is the warm, woody base that remains, absolutely delicious. Bought it recently in summer during the sales, so I’ve had little chance to try it, but on that fresh day it came out, I wore it and enjoyed it. It was a hit, and it’s a great purchase. In my opinion, this collection is the best from ZARA.
It’s a niche perfume with all the characteristics: exclusivity, note quality, good longevity, and projection. It seems incredible for the price; it’s a very, very good perfume.
Zara’s Santal 33. Although it’s similar to Le Labo’s, Zara’s feels fresher and more versatile. It doesn’t have the niche brand’s quality, but this Café Et Cèdre performs spectacularly. It projects quite a bit in the first few hours, lasts normally, and has enough sillage. It’s a clean perfume I recommend a lot, especially for the price (13 dollars on sale). 7/10.
A little gem of perfumery: Café et Cèdre. A mysterious and fascinating fragrance with a very powdery iris over aromatic woods. At first, you notice the bergamot and perhaps cardamom (not declared), which give way to a powdery iris (also not declared) mixed with incense and cedar. I can’t quite detect the coffee. It has niche vibes, a complex and hard-to-classify profile that fascinates me. Sometimes it’s creamy, other times astringent, powdery, woody, minty, and even edible, like a ginger cookie. Too bad it’s gone.
A gem in the perfume world, Café et Cèdre. Mysterious and fascinating, featuring a very powdery iris over aromatic woods. At first, you get bergamot and maybe a hint of cardamom (not listed) before yielding to a dusty iris (also unlisted) mixed with incense and cedar. The coffee, however, isn’t noticeable. It has that niche vibe with a complex profile that absolutely fascinates me. Sometimes it’s creamy, other times astringent, powdery, woody, mentholated, and even edible, like a gingerbread cookie. Too bad it’s no longer available.
A Zara gift for 16 euros… if you don’t have it yet, you’re waiting too long.
Amazing fragrance. Exquisite aroma, high-end perfumery at a ridiculous price. It’s a sweet cedar, ambered, with aromatic and minty touches. It lasts and projects a lot. In my opinion, it’s the best of Zara, followed by Shamanilla.
Indeed, it’s Zara’s jewel. It reminds me of Santal 33, but with a subtle sweetness and a coffee note that make it unique. Sillage and longevity aren’t its strong suits: it projects heavily at first, but the scent cloud fades quickly, and after 30 cm, it’s barely noticeable. It lasts about 4 hours before becoming a skin scent, but given the price and the smell, it’s totally worth it.
