You can’t ignore Dior Sauvage EDT in this review. 1. The opening is identical to the original Eau de Toilette, nothing like the Parfum, EDP, Elixir, or other variants that take a different path. 2. As it dries on the skin, a refreshing mentholated note emerges that reminds me of Chanel Blue. 3. The longevity and sillage are brutal; they fill the room and leave a scent trail wherever you walk. 4. It’s not a new scent; it’s a well-known DNA that never fails and everyone loves it. 5. I see Cool Water Parfum and Sauvage EDT as redundant. 6. The price-to-quality ratio of Cool Water is pretty fair. 7. Ideal for informal, casual use, versatile in all climates (except extreme heat), for ages 28+. Great for daily wear, though it can get boring. P.S.: I’m surprised by its low rating (3.9/5.0).

Super masculine powerhouse for guys over 25-30 (I’m 22 and I love it). Perfect for a spring dinner. Smells clean and seductive. It’s a bit heavier than the original Cool Water. If you over-spray on a hot summer day, it might give you a headache. It’s a fresh, aromatic fragrance with a very citrusy opening where the lime is clearly noticeable. As it dries, the woody and spicy notes come out. For the price, it’s worth having in your collection. If you like Dior Sauvage, you’ll probably like this too.

This is a perfume for a borderline f***-up; those Moschino-style kids should abstain, lol.

Warm springs and pure summer. Fresh, clean, a spotless gentleman. In my opinion, for 30 and up. Beautiful for informal or formal occasions, work, sports, and dates alike. Recommended. A classic that never dies. That clean scent, that unmistakable fuller aroma of classic perfumes. In short, a gorgeous blue fragrance that always leaves you looking sharp. Always delivers. Scent: 9/10, Longevity: 8/10, Projection: 8/10, Price-to-quality ratio: 9/10.

A modernized blue version, slightly denser than the legendary and classic Cool Water EDT. Without that aquatic freshness from calone, this Parfum is better suited for fall and winter. Naturally, it’s more mature, nocturnal, and elegant than the EDT. Does it resemble Sauvage or Luna Rossa Carbon? A little, but not really. This Davidoff has a creamy vetiver note, and when you let it warm up, it becomes unique. They don’t list ambroxan, but I believe it’s there. It has no relation to Dylan Blue or Bleu de Chanel. Longevity is good, around 7 hours without fading. The sillage is moderate. For the quality-to-price ratio, it’s a beast—about 25-30 euros for a 100ml bottle, a price to cry tears of joy over. I recommend it 100%, even if you already own the classic or other flankers or similar fragrances.

A modernized blue version, slightly dense/heavy compared to the legendary, top-selling, classic Davidoff Cool Water EDT. Lacking its signature aquatic, mega-fresh calone note, this Parfum feels a bit more suited for autumn-winter seasons. Naturally, it’s more mature, more nocturnal, and formally elegant than the EDT. Any similarities to Dior Sauvage EDT and Luna Rossa Carbon? A little, but not really. This Davidoff CW Parfum has a creamy vetiver and sandalwood note that makes it distinct. They don’t list ambroxan, but I believe it’s there. I don’t detect any kinship with Versace Dylan Blue or Bleu de Chanel, honestly. Decent longevity: 7 hours without fading. Moderate sillage. Given its incredible price-to-quality ratio—around 25-30 euros for a 100ml bottle, a steal—I recommend it 100%, even if you already own the classic or other flankers from the house or similar fragrances.

A lemon trying to make a Sauvage-style move, but it fades quickly, drifting into a side I absolutely dislike. It doesn’t smell like Sauvage, BdC, or Dylan Blue. It didn’t last as long as they claim. I didn’t like it. 3/10

A lemon trying to have a Sauvage-like opening, but it quickly fades into a direction I absolutely dislike. Not Sauvage, not BdC, not Dylan Blue. It didn’t last as long as they say. I didn’t like it. 3/10.

I love this modern fragrance. It reminds me of Sauvage EDT but brighter, less aggressive, and easier to wear. You could also say it has a faint echo of Bleu de Chanel. Longevity on me is 10-11 hours (it’s a Parfum concentration, and you can tell). Projection and sillage are moderate to high, but yes, the wearer gets constant bursts of that delicious aroma saying ‘I’m here’ throughout its entire duration (even in the final hours). I use it in all seasons except with intense heat (up to 27 degrees, it shines). In my country (Uruguay), this flanker doesn’t exist; I got it in Argentina for $80 USD for 100ml, and honestly, I’m very happy with the purchase.

Pleasant, linear, generic, synthetic scent, of course. Surprisingly good longevity and above-average projection, especially considering the price. Compared to Sauvage, I’ve always used the Eau de Parfum and don’t find much similarity. You’ll smell good, but you won’t impact or bother anyone. Informal attire, daytime/evening use, preferably in dry climates with temperatures between 20 and 28°. With humidity over 70% and temperatures above 30°, the scent fades.

I used the classic Cool Water a few years ago, followed by flankers like Game and Ice Fresh. As many suggest, each of these ‘variations’ only keeps the name of the classic version, as their scents take other paths. The same happens with the Parfum version. Clearly, it’s a fragrance made to please by presenting some similarities to Dior Sauvage EDT, and in my opinion, some echoes of Bleu de Chanel EDT. On my skin, its longevity is close to 6-7 hours, projecting for the first two hours and then showing a fairly linear performance. I recommend it for those looking for a fragrance similar (not identical) to Sauvage but at a lower cost with good performance.

A mix between Dior Sauvage and Dolce Gabbana Light Blue EDT but at half the price of those two. Decent performance. About 6 hours. Good scent and versatile. Greetings. Recommended.

Just like other Cool Water derivatives, this has nothing to do with the original, but it smells great and has amazing projection. It has a slight resemblance to Sauvage, but once you apply it, the difference is noticeable.

As I often see on Fragrantica, haters are always against certain bottles. It’s true that Davidoff uses the name ‘Cool Water’ over and over to launch scents that have nothing to do with the original. This Parfum is one of them; it smells very similar to Dior Sauvage, it’s very generic and packed with ambroxan. Other flankers like Intense or Reborn also have nothing to do with the original—the latter is a green fougère. But you have to admit, this Parfum lasts and projects a lot, which is rare these days. Plus, it’s much cheaper than the reformulated Sauvage, which doesn’t last as long. In short, this flanker gets an A: it lasts, projects, pleases everyone, and it’s cheap. What more do you want? Wear it as an alternative to Sauvage; so far, it’s the best clone I’ve tried. Another good one in that style is Antonio Banderas Icon, but Cool Water Parfum beats it on longevity.

A scent clearly designed for summer or heat. It has very good longevity, 9 hours on my skin. The opening is pleasant without being overwhelming, with a touch of pink pepper in a very well-balanced proportion. It reminds me of Sauvage, but honestly, I like this one more. Excellent value for money. I predict a bright future for it.

I tested it on blotter paper, impossible not to like it, it’s a solid scent and in line with current trends. In my opinion, it’s identical to Loewe Cobalt. I loved its citrus opening. Its dry down is sweet. I can’t perceive the vetiver note; more than vetiver, its heart seems to be ambroxan.

I tested it on blotter paper and it’s a total hit, very trendy. To me, it smells exactly like Loewe Cobalt. I love the citrus opening, but once it dries down, it gets very sweet. I don’t detect any vetiver; the heart seems to be pure ambroxan.

An indecent copy of Sauvage, made by a legendary house full of milestones. Shameful.

  19. Tested yesterday at El Corte Inglés. Reminds me a lot of the current Sauvage, not the original launch (that direct-to-the-jaw pepper bomb…). It’s very pleasant and wearable. A true all-rounder. It sits halfway between classic fragrance and current fashion. It’s made to please everyone, with the risk that in the end, no one will like it. Other aspects unrelated to the scent include the practice of ‘uttering your flagship’s name in vain’—that is, using the name of your most famous perfume for scents that have nothing to do with it (this already happened with Cool Water Intense)—and the tendency to imitate or try to resemble others… As for performance, it’s really good: it lasted all day on the back of my hand, even after washing dishes.
