The tobacco is noticeable all the time: check. Smells like quality: check. Lasts: check. It’s pleasant: check. Leaves a trail: yes, small but present. It’s not my usual style, but it smells rich. Sweet, vanilla, and vanilla-heavy; the drier it gets, the rounder and friendlier it becomes. It never makes you want to stay away; on the contrary, you keep smelling your wrist because it evolves slowly into something prettier and well-intentioned. I like it.

  • Top fragrance that screams quality. It’s a mature, spiced tobacco with a floral and sweet touch very similar to Dior’s Tobacolor, until you smell both side by side, it feels redundant. Excellent performance, sticks a lot to the skin with a powerful sillage at the start that then calms down. A total quality tobacco.

  • Bought the Houbigant set out of curiosity, and Tabac Nomade was the one I was most eager to try. Upon spraying, it hits deep, dense tobacco notes with a damp, wet touch. Spices add warmth, while vanilla, amber, and tonka soften and round out the profile. The tobacco smells identical to Tobacolor; they’re conceptual twins, though this one has less staying power and lacks the honey that sweetens the other. Perfect for cold weather and night. The longevity is nuclear: over 10 hours, it clings to your skin even after a shower, and it’s a nightmare to get out of clothes. I wear it for personal pleasure, on rare occasions, to feel wrapped in luxury. It doesn’t beg for compliments, but it commands attention. Note: Houbigant raised prices to €175 (was €160), while Tobacolor hovers around €265 and my Maison Alhambra dupe cost €35. Yes, the original ingredients are superior, but this satisfies me 100% and feeds my craving for the beastliest tobacco scent I know.

  • I bought the Houbigant set out of curiosity and this Tabac Nomade was my choice. The tobacco is deep, moist, and spiced, softened by vanilla, amber, and tonka. It smells identical to Dior’s Tobacolor, although the latter is stickier thanks to the honey. Ideal for cold nights, lasts over 10 hours, and you notice it when smelling your skin after a shower. On clothes it’s a problem to take off. It doesn’t seek compliments, but it commands presence. Now Houbigant is expensive (175€), while my Maison Alhambra version cost 35€ and fulfills me perfectly with that beast of a tobacco.

  • A true statement of intent: Houbigant rules baby! The Orientale collection is a damn wonder. The whole lot, without exception (with nuances). Testing on paper and on skin is another world. Don’t buy anything without testing on skin. On my skin: ultra-spiced opening, those potent spices last forever though they dilute with the tobacco. Gradual transition, well done, you don’t realize it because they’re linked, all dry, dark, oriental, and masculine. Gradually a sweet base with vanilla and tonka bean arrives that softens it a lot. The dry-down is a work of art, my favorite part. Not very versatile, but it’s a high-quality work of art with flawless execution. My favorite from the brand, without a doubt.

A true statement of intent: Houbigant rules baby! The Orientale collection is a damned marvel, entirely, without exception (though with nuances). First off: there’s an abyss between paper and skin. Don’t buy anything without testing it on skin, warned. On my skin, the opening is ultra-spiced; those potent spices last forever, gradually diluting into the tobacco. It’s a gradual, well-executed transition; you don’t notice because they’re so closely linked, all dry, dark, oriental, and masculine. Slowly, a base with sweet brushstrokes arrives to soften the blend with vanilla and tonka bean. The dry-down is a work of art, my favorite part. Yes, it’s not very versatile, but it’s a masterpiece of high quality and flawless execution. My favorite from the brand, without a doubt.

On my skin, it comes out as a spectacular tobacco with a touch of bergamot at the start. The tobacco stays the same but the tonka bean rises, giving it a slight sweetness. To me, it seems like a great perfume, honestly, it could be one of the best tobaccos or definitely in the top 5.

  • Picked it up on October 1st in Valencia. I tested it before buying, and even without maceration, it has excellent performance: better for late afternoon and evening than mornings, very autumnal, nothing for hot weather. The opening is very nomadic: spices, a raw bergamot, and a dry trail of rose appear, unsweetened, as if saffron dominates. Then comes the sweet phase, without cloyingness: I smell tonka bean, what I’d call blond tobacco, great vanilla, and leather that rounds everything out. It’s very transparent, crystalline, almost cutting through the air, with superlative personality and attraction power. It smells like fine Murano glass and wears beautifully. No tobacco fragrance has ever pleased me more. The spices are a marvel. I see it for night; not very versatile for shopping or summer, but it lasts 8+ hours easily; you wake up still wearing it. Price-quality-quantity are excellent for a niche.

  • I picked it up last October 1st in Valencia. I could test it before buying. Even without maceration, it has excellent performance, better for evening than morning, very autumnal, no heat at all. The opening is very Nomad: spices, a raw bergamot, and a touch of dry rose, without sweetness, as if saffron dominates. Then comes the sweet phase, not cloying: we smell tonka bean and blond tobacco, the vanilla has a great touch, and the leather rounds out a crystal-clear fragrance, almost you can cut it in the air. It has personality and superlative attraction power. Worn very comfortably. No tobacco perfume has ever pleased me more. The spices are a marvel. It’s for night, not very versatile, I wouldn’t wear it to the store in the morning or in summer. Lasts 8+ hours, you’re still with it when you wake up. Price-quality-quantity very good for a niche.

  • I bought it blind with trepidation, as many said it was delicious but not versatile. I was pleasantly surprised: it’s incredibly versatile. I detect spices, tobacco, and tonka bean. On my skin, it has a rich honeyed-citrus nuance—sweet but not cloying or gourmand. The tobacco smells softer than in other fragrances, making it more wearable for everyone. It’s unisex, with great performance and a cozy aroma, perfect for autumn and winter, best suited for those over 30. Elegant yet not formal; it pairs beautifully with jeans and a casual shirt or sweater. I insist, it’s far more versatile than I expected.

  • I bought it blind with some fear, as many said it was delicious but not versatile. I was pleasantly surprised by its versatility; I don’t understand those criticisms. I detect spices, tobacco, and tonka bean. On my skin, it has a rich honeyed-citrus note, sweet but not cloying. The tobacco is softer than in other fragrances, more wearable. Unisex, good performance, cozy, perfect for autumn and winter. Best for ages 30+. Elegant but not formal, goes well with jeans and a t-shirt. I insist, much more versatile than expected.

  • Absolutely spectacular, a spiced blond tobacco scent that kept me enjoying it all day (10 hours) with a 2-hour projection. Very happy with the purchase. Winter, both day and night. It never fails.

  • It’s a beast, a spiced blond tobacco that has accompanied me all day (10 hours), even though the projection is only moderate. Very happy with the purchase, ideal for winter day and night. Never fails.
