I loved it. I got the first sample in a 1.2 ml vial, and the scent is rich; it smells expensive and like high-quality leather. Spiced just like a good Spicebomb should be. We might be looking at a perfect flanker that could fit right in alongside others like the Extreme, Night Vision EDP, or Infrared.

  • The new Viktor&Rolf proposal is very rich. It shares with the previous ones an explosive pepper opening, but then the rest of the notes emerge forming a homogeneous block: a subtle, sweetened, smoky, and spicy leather. It’s not very projective, but it lasts well over six hours in my case. Today it’s 41 degrees, and that’s not its habitat; it’s good for autumn-winter nights. I’ll have to wait to see its real performance and let it mature a bit, since my batch is from two months ago. With Viktor&Rolf, it’s always the same: high prices and hard to find deals. I don’t know what’s going on with this Dark Leather, which is available in very few places and surely won’t drop in price. Very rich, but nothing that will blow your mind; if the projection is short, you’d have to think twice. P.S.: the perfume sits close to the skin, and you have to hunt for it on your own skin. I hope the heat and production time are to blame for this weak projection. I’ll keep it until autumn and hope it has changed radically; otherwise, it would be a total letdown.

Okay, it smells just like any other Spicebomb, but as it dries down, it becomes an almost imperceptible, clean, and soft leather. I was about to buy it blind, but testing it really disappointed me. Nothing stands out; the Extreme is still the best, with Infrared being at most comparable. This Dark reminds me a lot of Stronger With You Absolutely. Verdict: it’s another perfume that smells good, pleases the masses, and little more, despite the ridiculously high price.

  • Alexecko04

Smells nice, a pleasant but faint and soft leather. It has no projection and no sillage; you only smell it on yourself. After 2 or 3 hours, it’s skin scent. Total disappointment. What happened @Viktor&Rolf with this flanker?

  • Ramblita23

I bought it first because I loved it and I already own the entire Spicebomb collection; second, and most surprisingly (which I think is a mistake), it’s priced at €78 for 90ml at El Corte Inglés, whereas everywhere else I looked it ranges between €90 and €120.

  • Disappointment. I had very high expectations; I love the original Spicebomb, but all the subsequent flankers have seemed terrible to me—shrill, overly synthetic, and even giving me headaches. Unfortunately, this one follows that same line. They all share those typical designer notes that make me nauseous, whereas the original is the only one in the saga that feels rich, addictive, and not annoying at all. I was hoping for a blend with a touch of Ombré Leather; it would have been spectacular. But the leather here feels cheap and low-quality, paired with that cloying synthetic sweetness I just can’t stand. That said, I have a refined palate; I’m convinced the majority will love this, especially the masses. I’ll stick with the one and only, unequalled original.

  • The new proposal from Viktor&Rolf is very rich. It shares with the previous entries in the saga an explosive opening of pepper, but soon the rest of the notes emerge, forming a homogeneous blend of a very faint, sweetened, smoky, and spicy leather. It doesn’t project much, but it lasts well for over six hours in my case. It’s true that today we’ve hit 41 degrees, and that’s not the habitat for this Dark Leather. It’s a good fragrance for autumn-winter nights, so I’ll have to wait to see its real performance. Plus, this will let it mellow a bit, since my batch is only two months old. As always with Viktor&Rolf: high prices and hard to find good deals. Also, I don’t know what’s up with this Dark Leather; it’s only available at a few stores right now (but surely the price won’t drop once it’s widely available). Very rich, as I said, but nothing mind-blowing. If it turns out to be short on projection, I’d think twice. P.S.: Honestly, the perfume becomes skin scent almost immediately after application; it’s one of those where you have to hunt for it on your own skin. I hope the temperature conditions during my test and the short time since production explain this lack of projection. I’ll keep it stored until autumn arrives and hope things have changed radically. Otherwise, it would be a total disappointment.

I just picked this up at Sephora in American Dream for $149 with tax. This perfume is on another level for me; it doesn’t resemble Extreme like many say—this one is better. It’s a very wearable, soft leather, not as intense as Tom Ford. The projection lasts almost 2 hours on my skin. These are my first impressions; I’ll update my review later once I’ve worn it more…

  • It’s not a bad fragrance, but it’s clear it’s trying to imitate Tom Ford’s Ombré Leather. It’s an ultra-synthetic, vulgar, and run-of-the-mill version of that perfume. Like a botched imitation. Within the designer category, it’s made to please, since Tom Ford’s leather has that realistic tar-like quality that’s hard to copy. I’m not an expert in this Spicebomb line, but the ones I tried caught my attention; seeing the abusive price and pathetic performance, I’m stepping back. Plus, the audacity of offering 90ml in a cheap pomegranate bottle as if it were a bomb that doesn’t need many sprays and will blow your mind with the scent and longevity. It dries down to such a synthetic, burnt plastic or asphalt note that it gives me a headache; it’s a sour, strong smell. It’s that attempt at rancid leather trying to be sexy and luxurious for those who don’t know about perfumery, telling them: ‘Oh wow, this is a masterpiece’ or ‘It’s a cheap, wearable dupe of the acclaimed Ombré Leather.’

  • I’m a big fan of the brand, but the performance, especially the projection, of this new launch is a bad joke compared to what I expected. It projects nothing once you apply it; maybe it’s just the type of scent. The longevity is about 4 hours and very close to the skin. It’s not worth evaluating the scent because the performance isn’t what I expected, and I won’t be very objective. I was about to buy it blind; glad I waited to test it.

  • A cheap joke. Reportable, deceptive, a scam. Terrible longevity, zero projection. Do not buy under any circumstances.

  • Fernando100#

Second opinion after trying countless perfumes: don’t buy blindly, every nose is different. I absolutely love it. The projection is moderate, not a beast, but the opening is spectacular. I always carry an applicator and spray it twice to ensure that initial burst is there; for me, that’s the most impressive part of the entire fragrance.

  • I’m a huge fan of the brand, but the performance of this new launch is a cheap joke. It projects nothing right after application, maybe due to the scent. Longevity is about 4 hours and stays glued to the skin. It’s not worth evaluating the smell because it fails to meet expectations in performance, and I won’t be very objective. I was about to buy it blindly, thank God I waited to try it.

  • I promised myself I’d wait until fall to try it again, but today, at 95 degrees, I gave it another shot and it confused me once more. After 40 minutes, it’s already skin scent, just like the first time. The first time it lasted about 6 hours; this time, until the fourth hour it was the same, but from hour four to six, I only noticed iso e super. Surprising. It doesn’t last longer on clothes or hair either. It’s not olfactory fatigue, because I asked others and they all say it smells very timidly and you have to get close to smell it.

  • I’ve read the hate because people think it’s a dupe of Tom Ford’s Ombré Leather, but it’s nothing like it. It’s rich, more subtle, with a more wearable leather (not like gasoline or play-doh). The incense is also subtle and takes a different path. There’s no point comparing it. It’s more similar to Bvlgari Man in Black. It lacks projection, but the scent is delicious. The reason for the hate is the same as the reason for others’ love; it all depends on what you expect from it.

  • Leonardo-Ramirez

I just got a decant. I confirm it doesn’t project; it lasts 6-7 hours but stays right on the skin. I love it; it’s one of my favorites. It reminds me a little of Zara’s Lth02, but with more sweetness and cinnamon. It also has something of Bvlgari Man in Black, but more balanced and Christmassy, like being hugged with a punch in hand. I understand the hate, but I enjoy the aroma more than the projection. For me, it’s an 8/10 and it’s not a blind buy. Just like before, it doesn’t resemble Tom Ford’s Ombré Leather at all; they both have leather, but they’re lightyears apart.

  • Pplacchetta

I tested a decant and loved it; I want it. It’s a very personal fragrance, without a trail, but the scent is impressive.

  • iDestruccion

I bought the 50ml version a few months ago. At first, I didn’t like it, but over time I noticed how the scent lingers on clothes for days. It doesn’t project anything, but you notice it when you get close. It has the perfect sweetness of cinnamon and nutmeg, and you definitely feel the leather that makes it last so long on clothes.

  • I tried a decant and absolutely loved it; I want it, but I must say it’s a very personal fragrance. It has no sillage, but it’s an impressive scent.

  • JohnAcosta25

It’s a very personal fragrance with low projection, ideal for dates or cold weather. I find it more mature and formal than the Extreme, which is more informal; both are heavy and last on clothes, but I don’t see the point of having both unless you’re a super fan of the house. If you’re looking for leather, better look for another option with different notes.

  • I’m sharing my experience with this awaited flanker. I tested it on skin next to Loewe 7 Elixir. I own the original EDT, Infrared, and Extreme, and I previously tried Night Vision (a blind buy that didn’t last long). If it were an impulse buy, I would have bought it blind, but luckily I didn’t. The opening is noticeable leather, spicy, and ‘dry,’ rustic, like a leather jacket: more attitude than sensuality, subtle but present. Unfortunately, it lacks ‘power’ and projection; if you want to smell it, you have to get close to the skin. After 30-40 minutes, it becomes sweeter and spicier (like the Extreme). Loewe is a different story: a true beast that projects and lasts forever. The final dry-down of Dark Leather highlights the leather again, sweeter than at the start. I think fans should wait for a version with better performance; it’s almost certain there will be one. A flanker that’s far from Spicebomb EDT or the Extreme.

  • It’s a flanker of the classic with echoes of Tom Ford’s Ombré Leather. Less intense than that one, it’s super masculine, and unfortunately, I barely notice the incense, which is my favorite note. Low projection, normal longevity. As always: test before you buy.

  • Spicebomb Dark Leather is spicy, leathery, and ambered. The opening is a spice-and-leather bomb, exactly as the name suggests. It smells great at first. Over time, the leather fades in intensity while the spices rise, especially tobacco and black pepper, along with an amber and incense that sweeten it up a bit. It’s ideal for autumn and winter, perfect for night outs, bars, or rock concerts. The longevity was decent for me, almost 7 hours, with a notable sillage for the first hour that then dropped. I really liked it, though it’s not very original; it leans toward the style of Bvlgari’s Man in Black or John Varvatos’ Dark Rebel, but drier and less sweet. I’m not sure if I’ll go for it.

  • Orlandoperfumesman

To my nose, it starts smelling like Spicebomb EDT. Then it separates and the leather comes out: it’s heavy and projects well. But be careful, in the dry-down it smells very similar to Moschino Toy Boy, so much that it causes olfactory fatigue and I end up washing it off. That’s why I wouldn’t buy it; I wouldn’t use it because of that heavy final scent. I’ll stick with the original EDT.

  • Spicebomb Dark Leather is a brutal flanker of the classic line. It keeps the spicy DNA with cinnamon but adds a dark, sensual leather. It’s not quite a beast, but it definitely turns heads. Perfect for highlighting a balanced, seductive side. Give it a try and enjoy the launch; I recommend it 100%.

  • beto_ruiz

Spicy, leathery, and ambered scent. The opening is a bomb of leather and spices, just like the name. Smells great at first. Over time, the leather fades and tobacco, black pepper, and an amber with incense rise up to sweeten everything. Perfect for fall and winter, night outs, bars, or rock concerts. On my skin, it lasted almost 7 hours; the first hour projected a lot, then it dropped. I liked it, even though it’s not original; it’s closer to Man in Black or Dark Rebel but drier and less sweet. I’m not sure if I’ll buy it.

  • CesarMendezg

Wooooow, what a beast of a fragrance. No frills or accompaniments of orange, pineapple, or flowers here; straight to the masculine. From the second spray, leather and tobacco impose their presence, a dry roughness without adornments, like the perfume a 7 or John Wick would wear—the kind that makes everyone else smell like baby powder. Perhaps the most masculine fragrance I’ve ever felt. The tone and balance are spectacular; despite being dark and heavy notes, it doesn’t feel jarring or overly bitter, but rather inviting, like good dark coffee that’s rich and not annoying. Maybe the cinnamon tames the excess, or perhaps the essences are simply excellently crafted. That said, I confirm it’s very personal; projection is low and it disappears almost completely in open spaces. It’s for enclosed spaces, and I was surprised how it changes indoors and becomes present. Maybe it’s not so much low projection as it is easily overpowered by the rancid smells of public places. It’s not like the leather in Boss Absolu, which feels strong at 2 meters and covers everything. But on a date or meeting at home, applied well, uffff, this will get you dates, many. Even in open spaces, if you apply generously, people will feel it close by; you won’t flood the bar, but at a short distance, this is a danger. Regarding longevity, I disagree; it projects little, but on my skin, if I apply it at 7 PM, I still smell it strongly by morning, right on the skin, and it’s nice to wake up smelling like this, for you and for her, if you know what I mean. Anyway, an absolute gem, love at first sniff for me who likes dark fragrances. That said, you have to like this type of aroma; never buy it as a gift or blind buy because they are bitter and heavy, not popular at all and not for everyone, but if you see it around, you HAVE to try it.

  • diegoc4095

I didn’t like it at all. At first, it smelled like a clogged toilet, and in the dry down, a horrible mechanic shop. Later, it dried down to just gasoline and a little cinnamon. I tested it in three different perfumeries to see if it was a bad batch, but nothing matched the reviews.

  • diegoc4095

I didn’t like it at all. Upon testing, it smelled like stale cola at the opening and a terrible mechanic’s garage at the base. Then, as it dried down, it smelled only of gasoline and a little cinnamon. I tested it in three different perfumeries to see if it was a defective batch, but absolutely nothing like the reviews.

  • Quite spicier, darker, and less sweet than the MIB or other Spicebombs. The performance felt just average to me.

  • Leonardo-Ramirez

It’s a bit in the same vein as D&G The One, but without the steroids and without the projection or longevity, which is why it feels more like an EDT than an EDP. It also fits the YSL Babycat profile a little, but here there’s no sweet vanilla like in Babycat. I repeat, it’s the same usage and occasion profile. Warm and elegant.

  • Van der wiel

It makes me laugh reading reviews from people coming from sweet and feminine fragrances, haha. This is for real men, even if the leather is subtle. There are others where it’s more marked, like a Gucci Absolute.

  • MarteEDP22UY

I hate the mix of nutmeg and cinnamon; it’s like wearing a leather jacket while chewing on a Rosita gum xD.

  • Photobeparfum

I’ll be totally honest: Dark Leather SB IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. You have to appreciate prominent leather and spice. In other words, you have to dress the part (elegance, evening wear…). You have to be very feminine to hate this.

  • I tried it at a friend’s house yesterday and it was absolutely spectacular. The leather note is refined and high-quality, nothing burnt or old. I don’t understand the low rating. The longevity is decent; it lasted about five hours on my hand. The projection was also great; my friend wore it to a night event and it was noticeable from a couple of meters away. It’ll be part of my collection soon.

  • I tried it yesterday on a friend, and what a spectacular perfume. The leather note is fine and high-quality, nothing burnt or old leather. I don’t understand why the rating is so low. The longevity is decent; it lasted about five hours on my hand. As for projection, my friend wore it to a night meeting and smelled it from a couple of meters away. It will be part of my collection soon.

  • Smells great, but after 30 minutes it gets stuck to the skin… what a pity. It’s a great launch, but what’s the point if you’re the only one who can smell it? I’m increasingly disappointed with designer perfumery; they’re releasing random stuff with questionable quality and insane prices.
