“TANGERINE BOMB” The opening is a very sweet tangerine scent with a woody base. As it dries down, you notice the incense, though only slightly. It gives a smoky vibe, but it’s not as prominent as in Loewe 7 (incense and green apple). Have you tried the orange/tangerine Jolly Ranchers? It’s close to that, but with a refined touch. I had high expectations after reading the ingredients, and I was disappointed. It’s linear and could be boring. I use it casually for temperate/cold climates and people over 25. I bought the 125 ml bottle and don’t regret it; I like it, but nothing more. It’s different from the rest, but not a masterpiece.
To me, it’s a masterpiece. I agree it’s linear, and that’s the best part because sometimes the opening is what people love most, not the base. Loewe Solo Absoluto smells innovative; it doesn’t resemble anything I’ve tried before. It works great for late afternoon or evening—it’s elegant but not necessarily formal.
It’s one of those perfumes that captivate instantly: the opening is citrusy and fresh, dominated by tangerine with a woody touch. The truth is, the freshness fades quickly, but that initial scent is what lingers on the skin without evolving. For me, this lack of development isn’t a flaw but a strength, because the opening is exquisite and addictive. The incense is barely noticeable once it dries down, offering moderate projection. It’s not a top-tier fragrance, but it’s a great choice for spring or autumn afternoons, perfect for dinner on the terrace or going to the theater with friends.
Perfect if you like a linear scent: it starts fresh and citrusy (tangerine) with a woody touch, but loses its freshness quickly. The note that lingers on the skin is what lasts and doesn’t evolve. What’s a flaw in others is a hit here: the opening is exquisite and addictive. Maybe the incense in the dry-down is barely noticeable, resulting in moderate projection. It’s not a top-tier fragrance, but it’s a great choice for late afternoon or evening in spring or autumn, ideal for a terrace dinner or casual gathering.
Pleasant fragrance with a powdery opening and a constant tangerine scent. As everyone says, it’s linear and shifts a bit toward woods after three hours, though the incense is barely noticeable. It’s not bad, but it doesn’t make me feel anything special; I think it’s the least favorite in the SOLO line, although I’ve only tried the original and the Platinum.
I swear I already wrote this… Initially, I listed it according to the manufacturer’s pyramid, but then they changed it. The curious part is that it doesn’t follow the classic pyramid, but rather four chords: Wet Stone (lavender, neroli, orchid), Hesperides (bergamot, tangerine), Dry Wood (sandalwood, labdanum), and Spiced (artemisia, basil, tonka bean).
The sweet notes are up 20% compared to the base. Here, the Absoluto is citrusy and ambered with a touch of orchid. At first, it’s very similar to the base Solo, but as it dries down, they take different paths while keeping the essence. The Absoluto feels more accomplished and modern: the tangerine shines with an amber-incense blend, and the orchid adds an acidic, nervous, and vibrant effect. It’s linear, masculine, and bold, but be careful—it can be annoying if not used well; at 29 degrees, it feels unbearable. It has good density and lasts 6-9 hours, which gives it the win. It seems like a four-season scent, but in the heat, it’s overwhelming. It suits ages 22 to 60 and semi-formal occasions. If you already own the Solo, this isn’t necessary (there’s only a 25% difference), but if you don’t have either, this is the one to get.
The sweet notes jumped about 20% compared to the base. Here, the Absolu is citrusy and ambered with a touch of orchid. The Absolu feels more polished and modern: the tangerine shines with an ambered incense, and the orchid gives it an acidic, nervous, vibrant effect. It’s linear, masculine, and punchy, but be careful—it can be annoying if not worn well; at 29 degrees, it feels impossible. It has great density and lasts 6-9 hours, which gives it the win. It feels like 4 Seasons, but in the heat, it’s suffocating. It suits ages 22 to 60, semi-formal settings. If you already own the SOLO, this isn’t necessary (there’s only a 25% difference), but if you don’t own either, this is the one to get.
It hits with that sharp dryness of the SOLO family, which I don’t love, but it hooks me like masochism… haha. If you’re looking for something natural and fresh, forget it; there’s nothing of the sort here. I ruled it out because of that plasticky tonka note in the dry-down that just grossed me out, even though the rest is potent and not bad. The opening with orange and lavender is fresh, then it drops a notch with the incense (not burnt, thank god) and I actually liked the finish—it’s an undefined blend with nuances and without that plastic sweetness. I expected less longevity, but with a tiny spritz, I could still smell it hours later. In short, it might be good if you aren’t hunting for exquisite scents and don’t mind that plasticky tone.
Objectively, it’s a bomb, but the tangerine kills me, period.
Objectively, it’s an excellent perfume, but personally, I just don’t like the tangerine note at all.
