Shades of Nirvana and Shades of Bliss are my top picks from the collection so far. The bottle is the cutest Zara has released lately; although they came in 100ml, the 50ml size works best for me, and despite the design, the price remains reasonable (Amancio, don’t get mad, the Arab brands are in fashion). As for the scent, I expected something spicier and fresher given the name, and it delivers at first, but within minutes it turns into a white floral with woody notes. Jasmine is the star, very cozy thanks to the musk and sandalwood, making it friendly, versatile, and very feminine. Sandalwood provides the woodiness while musk adds the cleanliness. There’s an unlisted sweet fruity base that smells like peach. It lasts about 6 hours on me and is noticeable the whole time. It reminds me of CK Beauty for that woody jasmine, though this one smells more current. Despite not having many white florals in my collection, I loved it for its simple beauty and longevity. I absolutely love this Zara line; Nirvana is especially fresh, soft, clean, and luminous amidst all the vanilla and dupe-filled market. I’ve had it in my new collection for about two or three weeks, and it’s already mellowed (happened to me with Atelier’s Mochi too); now it has more body and clings to the skin for hours. It’s a very pleasant sensation of floral cleanliness, sweet, fresh, with a herbal touch. Given the price and my trust in Zara, I’m thinking of buying a refill. If you’re looking for a calm, intimate, and personal perfume for all year round, I recommend this Shades.
