This Christmas edition totally left me disappointed; I went to the store excited, and let me tell you, ladies, it smells super unisex, almost more like a man’s scent. If you like it this way, go ahead, but if you were expecting something sweeter like the Ginger Biscuit… holy cow, you’re going to be let down. Plus, it’s a very strange scent with nothing special about it. Go try it yourself and let me know, don’t just take my word for it.
I love Jo Malone’s Christmas editions, and this one didn’t disappoint. Sandalwood & Spiced Apricot is a unisex cologne that opens green and sparkling, like firm fruit with a hint of herbal mate. It’s not sugary sweet, but rather a natural, juicy, luminous sweetness. As it evolves, it becomes velvety; the sandalwood softens everything into a warm, clean creaminess. It’s a transition from a vibrant green fruity top to a balanced, non-gourmand creamy base. Longevity? Well, we know these are colognes and Jo Malone isn’t known for lasting power, but for me, it’s no issue; I love the naturalness of these fragrances.
