  • Hello. This fragrance is a delight—very fresh and distinct from my usual choices. On my skin, the blackberry stands out with a hint of green laurel. Too bad the longevity is short, around two hours: it starts with medium projection, becomes skin-only after an hour, and disappears completely by two hours, on both clothes and skin. The price is excessive; there are better options at a lower cost, so I won’t repurchase. Note: I’m familiar with several Jo Malone scents, and even the most potent ones don’t exceed three hours, even with the gel, cream, and oil—obviously, that’s my perception and my family’s too. Best, Eli 🙂

  • Hello. I absolutely loved this fragrance; it’s super fresh and different from what I usually wear. On my skin, it smells like intense blackberry with a touch of green laurel. The problem is it doesn’t last—max two hours: starts with medium projection, but by an hour it’s just skin scent, and by two hours, nothing. It doesn’t even linger on clothes. Plus, the price is insane; there are better and cheaper options, so I won’t be buying it again. By the way, I know several Jo Malone scents, and even the strongest ones don’t last more than three hours, even with the full ritual (gel, cream, oil)—that’s my experience and my family’s too. Cheers, Eli 🙂

I received four Jo Malone decants yesterday, and this was the first I tried and the one I liked best. Although the trail is very soft and longevity doesn’t exceed two hours and a bit, it manages to blend sweet and fresh notes, leaning more toward the sweet side. The only downside, aside from longevity (which is key for me), is the price, hovering around 60 euros for a 30ml bottle—excessive for these characteristics. Recommended: if you liked this, don’t miss out on INITIO: Musk Therapy. It features that blackberry note but amplified in both scent and longevity.

What a gorgeous, subtle, and feminine perfume—one of my favorites. The scent is simple, and that’s what I adore. Basically, it smells like a blackberry plant with leaves, wet in a winter field. The combination of laurel leaves and blackberry creates that atmosphere. It’s quite realistic to my nose, evoking childhood memories of picking those blackberries directly from the bush. It smells exactly like that—a truly beautiful memory.

While it’s true the trail is very soft and longevity doesn’t surpass two and a half hours, it’s a fragrance that successfully blends sweet and fresh notes, leaning more toward the sweet. Smells like an August heatwave when blackberries are ripening in the woods. Problem: it doesn’t last at all.

  • Jo Malone’s Blackberry & Bay is subtle, citrusy, and sweet-fruity with a hint of acidity. The grapefruit, blackberry, cedar, and laurel stand out. Here, the blackberry is both tart and sweet, paired with juicy, pleasant grapefruit. Herbal notes are noticeable, especially the laurel. As it dries down, cedar and vetiver emerge, adding depth and balance. The florals are present but hidden behind the fruit and citrus. On my skin, it lasts 2 to 2.5 hours. It doesn’t project much, like most Jo Malone scents, making it perfect for private enjoyment—subtle and pleasant. Marketed as feminine, it’s totally unisex; anyone would wear it. One of my all-time favorites: fresh, subtle, slightly sweet, tart, and exceptional.

  • Blackberry & Bay by Jo Malone is a subtle, citrusy, and fruity scent with a tart edge. The grapefruit, blackberry, cedar, and bay leaf really shine through. Here, the blackberry is both tart and sweet, paired with juicy, pleasant grapefruit. You can definitely detect the herbal notes from the bay leaf. As it dries down, the cedar and vetiver emerge, adding depth and balance. There are floral notes present, but they’re hidden among the fruits and citrus. On my skin, it lasts about 2 to 2.5 hours. It doesn’t project much, like most Jo Malone fragrances; it’s meant to be enjoyed, subtle and lovely. The brand lists it as feminine, but I see it as unisex and perfect for everyone. It’s always one of my favorites: fresh, subtle, slightly sweet and tart, and truly exceptional.

Starting with two clear points: yes, it lasts a max of 3-4 hours, and projection drops to arm’s length in 15 minutes before settling into a skin scent after two hours. Add to that the high price for such poor performance. But the scent is top-tier: a unique fruity profile with bright, acidic citrus that balances perfectly, a clean floral base, and that touch of herbal laurel. It’s unisex, fresh, and easy to wear—ideal for heat or summer, day or night. I recommend it for quick outings given its short longevity. In three words: fresh, clean, and tasty. My rating: 6.5/10.
