I’ve tried sage in perfumes before, and while I like that green note, it gave nausea and total rejection to two people who let me wear it. The quality is there, but I don’t think it’s as interesting a green masculine scent as they promise.
Sorry, but I have to admit this isn’t for me, even though I recognize it’s among the best out there. I put on a single drop and it hit me hard in the stomach—I’m not sure if it’s the narcissus or what—but I had to scrub it off thoroughly with soap. I just can’t stand it.
I love florals, especially those that bring back childhood memories from my grandparents’ house, with their roses, carnations, and ferns. Romanza by Masque Milano is that bottled, but with maturity. It’s a complex, animalic fragrance with great character for those who want to go beyond the ordinary. It has three phases: a yellow-green metallic floral opening with narcissus and violets, a soapy touch of jasmine and anise, and a dark animal base with myrrh, amber, and a brutal synthetic civet that makes it green and imposing. It’s a complex experience; don’t buy it blindly, but if you like cypresses and are looking for something unique, it’s a beast with incredible performance.
It starts super green and bitter with angelica, absinthe, and vivid florals like jasmine and narcissus—very classic but with a rough edge and a dose of ugliness thanks to the civet, which gives it a nostalgic, artisanal vibe. It reminds me of releases from Abdes Salaam. Over time, the florals blend with the base into infinite beauty. If you’re not looking for something easy to digest and prefer beauty that doesn’t stick to your face, don’t even try it. The quality is enormous and noticeable.
