Today I received this oriental beast, and my surprise was that I had already smelled it before. Ladies and gentlemen, a great substitute for Tom Ford’s Tobacco Oud. This Raghba by Lattafa is a potent eau de parfum, with a dense sugary opening and a background oud that’s between animal and medicinal, like the music in a bar. The incense disappoints me. It’s a very sweet beast; buy it blind and without regrets for the €13 it costs. I say substitute, not clone, because they aren’t identical in the opening (T.Oud has an alcohol note), but they are in the heart. The big difference is that the oud here is medicinal, without that dirty animal smell. Rating 8/10 for being not very versatile, but I love its scent.
Raghba by Lattafa: With my usual taste, I’m sharing my experience. For a long time, I avoided sweet scents, ignoring the cloying ones. Until I met sweet scents that weren’t cloying, which hooked me, and my last 10 acquisitions are oriental. I admit I was wrong; although they carry sweetness in their architecture, they handle it masterfully and have become my favorites. This Raghba is one of the sweetest proposals in my collection, truly an exquisite, unique, and beautiful caramel. It’s a perfectly crafted sweetness that doesn’t tire or overwhelm. That sweetness with a dirty touch, woods, amber, the smoky, and the herbal floral makes it spectacular. Every time I use it, it fills my nose; it’s prepotent, monumental, majestic, brash, and imposes on everyone. In my taste, it’s one of the best in its class, with quality and originality that stand out. Fragrance for cold climates, autumn, and winter. One of the best I have, without a doubt. Scent: 9.0, Projection: Good, Longevity: Very, very good. If you don’t like sweet scents, skip it. Highly recommended.
I love strong perfumes, cypress, potent oriental, woody, unisex with a masculine touch, Arabic scents, oud, and Guaiac wood. Because of their delicious fragrance, they give an extra in performance, which I value a lot. I have many perfumes with oud from different brands, they all smell wonderful and have exemplary sillage and longevity. I bought this with high expectations based on the reviews and got a huge letdown. I don’t know if my batch is faulty, if it needs to rest, or if this is it: a gourmand with delicate oud. I’m confused, asking for something it doesn’t offer. I don’t know what to think, but it’s not the ‘brown beast’ people talk about. I expected oud, but I only detect sticky, heavy, even nauseating caramel and vanilla. I’m looking for the oud and can’t find it, less so the incense. The amber is nice, but it’s not enough: no depth, very linear, boring, and dull. Little sillage and longevity; it projects for barely an hour with many sprays and doesn’t last even two hours on the skin. I expected personality and more oud, incense, and sandalwood with exemplary performance. Nowhere near that. I don’t understand it; I have other Lattafa perfumes that give this one a thousand turns. I’m not giving up; I’ll let it rest for months to see what happens. I think when a perfume is hyped for resembling another expensive brand-name ‘in’ scent, we have a mess: lots of hype and little oud. If you’re looking for a good dose of oud, this isn’t the one; there are better options for the same price. If you’re looking for a fruit chowli, you got it right, beware! I’m not saying that disrespectfully.
It has a certain resemblance to Mugler’s Mirror; it’s sweet, has little oud, it’s cloying, and it lacks good longevity and sillage. Although its price is economical, you can reapply it. It’s very gourmand, vanilla from start to finish, like dessert with sugar and a slight touch of wood. The incense is light, barely noticeable. It’s not a hard beast; after an hour, all the charm is gone.
I just received this fragrance. It’s linear, with no substantial changes in its development; its main strength is the vanilla. It clearly feels like vanilla with incense and a background oud. It’s sweet, but not cloying or annoying. It gives a sensation of slightly smoky and woody vanilla with the oud. I like it a lot; I expected it to be more intense and overwhelming due to the sweetness, but nothing like that. It’s a unisex leaning towards masculine, ideal for dates, seductive. I don’t see it for formal events or high temperatures. Once again, Arabic fragrances don’t disappoint.
If you like Babylon by Penhaligon’s but don’t want to spend €200, Raghba is your perfume. You can’t be without it if you’re a vanilla lover. 100% recommended.
A delightful woody and sweet scent: burnt sugar, vanilla, smoky incense, sweet sandalwood, and varnished woods in the base. I detect something like rustic cake with sugared crust, maybe a bit burnt. It’s a dry, smoky sweet, rough, and sensual. Yes, it smells synthetic and sometimes like gasoline, but it has its charm when sniffing out its sweet and woody effluvia. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blindly for women if you don’t know this type of unisex Arabic perfume, but if you like them, it’s not hard. I use it almost always at home, though I take it out occasionally.
Very good perfume, though the sillage is light; I have a batch from 9/22, maybe that’s why. I’ve worn it for 12 hours with just 3 sprays and still have faint traces of the aroma, so it’s still there. I love it; it reminds me of Babylon mixed with Mercedes Benz Black. I’ve tested it on female skin, and it goes in a different direction, very sweet, which doesn’t reflect on my skin. I don’t detect oud on the nose, but I do smell vanilla and sandalwood from start to finish. I’ve loved it and now I want to try the Wood Intense.
Definitely, I’d love to know the original formula, because the 2020 version feels short. The longevity on clothes is decent, but the projection and sillage leave a lot to be desired. It’s a very rich scent, but unfortunately, it’s not the beast people were talking about before. I’m going to try layering it with other fragrances to see how it turns out.
I used to live in Madrid working on the construction of ParqueSur about 20 years ago. In that cinema district, from time to time, a delicious, sweet, and metallic scent would drift by, fluttering mysteriously. My colleagues couldn’t smell it, but it captivated me so much that I would search for it constantly. I never knew where it came from, but now, with this Raghba, I’ve relived it as if it were yesterday. It’s incredible how scents lodge themselves in the brain. The drydown is magnificent: sweet, smoky, dense, light, medicinal, woody, and edible. At first, it smells like leather or babouche, but after a few days, its full charm unfolds on the skin—delicious and addictive. By the way, back then, there was also a food aroma factory filling the industrial park with pink panther and banana yogurt scents. What power the sense of smell has. Happy New Year 🥂
Raghba smells delicious, so analyzing the notes is redundant, but it has been reformulated like many Arab fragrances that are soon to lose their edge. Longevity and projection are short. Anyone reading old reviews or social media posts is talking about a different perfume than the current one. I see it as unisex and totally gourmand, because the woody or incensey parts don’t stand out at all. It doesn’t smell like a heavy, smoky, or oud-filled Arab scent. I think budget brands like Lattafa saw the opportunity with the rising prices of big names and are reformulating to cut costs. First, they create the hype with ‘beast mode’ scents, then they release batches of lower quality. The same old story… And Raghba is one of them.
I gifted it to a friend for his birthday, and today he smelled it and… wow, what a beauty! So sweet! But it’s sophisticated sweetness, mind you, not a cheap gourmand. It lasts about 4 hours on the skin with some great bursts. I’m smitten, I’m buying it for myself. Totally unisex: if you’re a man looking for vanilla, this is the one. Can’t wait for summer to leave a trail. A perfect 10! It will be my third Lattafa.
Raghba is a perfume I had to endure and get used to; it never seemed ‘horrible’ to me, but I also didn’t see it as my style. I bought it blind, and if I had smelled it first, I wouldn’t have bought it; now I’m glad, I like how it smells on my skin, it’s sweet and smoky and getting better with time. Longevity is good and the trail isn’t bad for the first few hours; after three, it sticks more to the skin but you can tell. Don’t buy it blind: it worked out for me, but it could have gone differently.
Lattafa made a strong impact in the West, and Raghba was one of the first. It’s a super warm scent, ideal for winter; it doesn’t work in spring, summer, or when it rains due to humidity. If you like the Baccarat Rouge style, you’ll love it: it has caramelized and burnt vanilla, but it’s not as bothersome as Tobacco Vanille, more like toasted honey. It’s unisex, though insecure men might find it a bit ‘feminine’.
Lattafa’s Raghba is a magnet, pure power. My son-in-law introduced it to me, and its wood and spice notes make it super masculine to my taste. Every time I wear it, it leaves an unforgettable trail in the house.
I don’t recommend buying it blind. I sold mine after months of not daring to wear it out. On me, it’s an herbal aroma accompanied by a dirty, greasy vanilla; literally leaves grease on the skin. It’s like a bar of soap soaked in liquor. If you’re looking for a gourmand as the YouTubers say, it’s not for you. I can’t see anyone wearing it… I let my partner try it and couldn’t stand it either. It smells dirty.
Wow, what a sweet bomb! To me, it smells like pure sugar, caramelized vanilla, and cinnamon. Even though it’s a winter scent, I wear it at night in the summer and I love it.
Quite linear, it evolves very little; what you smell at the start is what lingers until the end. It’s sweet, caramel, and woody, and in my case, it has a slightly boozy touch. Very rich and addictive, perfect for cold climates because it feels warming. Here in Chile, it’s very affordable, around $25 with shipping. If you don’t like sweet scents, skip it. For me, it was a total hit, blind buy recommended. Cheers, perfume lovers.
It’s identical to Xerjoff’s Bouquet; they are hand-in-hand the same.
10/10! Reminds me of Angels Share, though no one else seems to notice. I bought it blind based on the caramel and vanilla notes, but on my skin it leans more towards cinnamon (even though it’s not listed), mixed with vanilla, oud, and incense. It’s like a less potent, smokier version of Angels Share. Got it yesterday, tested it, and it lasted 5 hours; I’ll let it macerate to see if it sweetens up or gains longevity. Snagged it on promo for a great price and it’s unisex, though it smells absolutely luxurious on female skin♡
Another total disappointment!!! It’s the third perfume from this Arab house, the third celebrated in forums and influencers, the third worth less than a kick. I conclude that all orientals are the same in DNA and behave the same with a rapid free fall. This one opens well, magnificently for those who love the caramel vanilla touch, but after ten minutes it degenerates into a nasty licorice aftertaste. In short, I don’t see much difference from the highly praised and horrible Raghba Wood Intense; luckily, this one is softer and disappears sooner. Absolutely not recommended, much better an Abre Magique!!!!!
Bought blindly back in the day. Upon trying it, I got diabetes. If you don’t like ultra-sweet scents, don’t take it out of the box. Excessively sweet, feminine, and lady-like scent. Total disappointment. I sold it a few days later. Huge longevity, but of course, if you don’t like the scent (as was my case), that’s another negative point. This whole thing with Arabic perfumes just doesn’t fit for me.
I smell a lot of incense. It reminds me of a shop from my youth selling ‘smoking things’ 😂, run by enthusiasts who mixed incense with room sprays; it smells exactly like that. I notice the feminine side, but that’s the part I like most; still, for my nose, it’s totally unisex and depends on the look and context. It opens well, very sweet. Then comes the vanilla with incense: the incense prevents it from being sugary, which I appreciate… The oud is felt at all times, but not too much. It’s quite linear, as others comment, and can become very overwhelming. It has brutal performance: if you don’t like it and it lands on fabric, it’s a mess guaranteed (I don’t know if it stains, but I imagine it does). It’s hard to remove from the skin, requiring several soaps and water. I don’t see it as suitable for a work environment, especially small offices, nor in hot weather. In short, I don’t dislike it, though I doubt it will be my favorite or that I’ll repurchase, but I’ll finish it slowly because I’ll use it sparingly.
Bought blindly, knowing what I was exposing myself to. Linear ‘arabica’ vanilla. It didn’t convince me as it felt very synthetic and slightly sharp. I gave it away. However, I will always remember Raghba. Always. It taught me a tremendous lesson: under no circumstances should you gift a perfume you don’t like to a work colleague. Does that bottle never end????
After trying it timidly before, today with the cold and bad weather, I felt brave enough to wear it. The vanilla isn’t dessert-like or cloying, tamed by the incense and woods. It’s a good scent for the cold; it wraps you up and makes you feel comfortable. What caught my attention was the price… I expected it to be perfectly 10 or 15 € more expensive. It’s super synthetic, barely any evolution, but you can tell it’s well-made. For those looking for a dark vanilla with elegance and good value, Raghba has a beautiful scent. I don’t think I’ll buy it; they’re not my favorites and I already have enough, but it was very interesting to try. Thanks to the companion Taurien for the decant. I can’t help but mention the genius of Josesan, invoking Lope de Vega to describe his experience with Raghba. Bravo.
At first, I felt it was sweet, not quite gourmand. Incense dominates, making me feel like I’m burning incense with a vanilla touch. It’s quite strong, to the point where it offended me because I could smell it on myself all day; very synthetic. It could be used in a cold winter, I don’t hate it, but it’s not for everyday wear.
I had high expectations, imagining an olfactory bomb. Maybe it’s already reformulated, but the opening is potent and narcotic. I only feel a sweet, vanilla-incense scent that later becomes skin-close. If you like incense, it’s good, but it’s not for everyone. It doesn’t have great longevity, max 5 hours, very discreet with low sillage after the first hour. For autumn and winter, day or night, you have to reapply several times if you want it to last. I won’t buy it again, although it’s cheap and I don’t dislike it entirely. A bit disappointing in terms of performance and scent.
I smell a lot of incense, vanilla, sugar, cinnamon, and a soft oud. It’s a sweet but not gourmand scent, quite strong. Do not buy blindly! ❗ When it dries down, it smells vintage; I like it, but it doesn’t make me crazy enough to buy it right now. The packaging doesn’t convince me; it looks like something from the 90s. Good longevity, ideal for cold climates. Scent 9/10, Longevity 8/10, Sillage 6/10, Packaging 4/10, Versatility 4/10, Value for Money 8/10. Would I buy it? NO.
I only detect a sweet, potent incense with a slightly more masculine than feminine nuance. I like strong perfumes, but I’m not sure if I love wearing this scent. It makes me feel like I just stepped out of a bonfire, wrapped in smoke. I don’t know when or where to use it. It’s not a fragrance I enjoy; the performance is poor; despite the strong opening, it doesn’t project beyond the first hour.
Pure love for this fragrance. The blend of vanilla, oud, and sandalwood creates a delicious experience, perfect for cold days. 👏 I’d buy it again without hesitation.
Excellent for anyone who loves oud a lot. I don’t recommend buying it blindly.
Smells VERY good. It’s an extreme gourmand with incense and sugar sweetness. The projection is moderate but it lasts all day. It’s unisex, slightly feminine, but I’m a man and I wear it because I love it. It reminds me of Christmas.
Every nose is a different world. It’s the most gourmand in my collection: pure brown sugar with vanilla and wood, with incense very in the background. I don’t smell oud. Despite lasting 12 hours and projecting for 6, it doesn’t seem chic or elegant to me. For me, it’s just for hanging out with friends or casual dinners. It’s so sweet it makes me hungry and I end up eating dessert, so I don’t want to wear it anymore.
Cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla, but cinnamon dominates. I don’t smell the woods; it smells more like cinnamon apple pie than wood. I don’t detect the oud. I tried it again because it reminds me of my mom’s TABU LOTION from the 80s, the one she used to attract good luck.
Spectacular. A great opening. Between the cinnamon and dry down, a delicious vanilla. I don’t appreciate the incense, but it’s well-executed for those afraid of oriental scents. It has a light oud and maybe a touch of leather from the wood. It sounds 70% like YSL Babycat. The projection is good for an hour and then settles into a personal bubble. It’s not overwhelming; I bought it blindly and have no regrets.
Used to gourmands, this is the least sweet of them all. I don’t detect vanilla or sugar, just incense and oud. If you expect something sweet and feminine, this isn’t for you; it’s more unisex, leaning masculine.
Not what I expected, not my type. I find it too cloying and intense. The caramel, incense, and vanilla notes are very strong. The longevity is decent; it lasted me about 5 hours.
Cheap perfume with cheap notes. If you’re looking for something vanilla, sweet, and gourmand, forget it. It feels vintage, strong, heavy, and lasts way too long. Terrible purchase, already threw it out of my collection.
Ragba is a strange perfume. I had it for three years and ended up gifting it because I didn’t like it enough to wear myself. My bottle is from 2022 and seems to have dried out and become less sweet over time. It’s the perfect sweet spot for those who aren’t into gourmands and the ideal smoky vibe for sweet lovers. It reminds me of a kid wanting to drink adult vanilla. It’s not bad, but it’s become way too popular; people buy it blindly and that usually goes wrong.
Hey! Has anyone noticed this Arab house might have copied Maison Martin Margiela By the Fireplace? I started with Lattafa’s satellite brands at Ragba. It’s a rare scent: sweet but not cloying, featuring dry vanilla, cinnamon, incense, and burnt sugar. It’s soft, very long-lasting, and surprisingly, people ask about my incense cologne when I’m a meter away. The only downside is it projects very little.
