  • RUBINSTEIN

Bought blind, first Dupont, a pleasant surprise. It’s pure elegance, extremely refined, balanced, spot-on, and versatile. A spotlessly clean wood accompanied by vanilla (though I don’t see it in the notes) along with a very slight touch of pepper. On my skin, it lasted about 8 hours.

This is the second in the line I’ve tried and bought after Vanilla & Leather, which still has a place in my heart, being the sweeter of the two. It’s an amazing value-for-money proposition that you’ll love if you adore oriental fragrances; another proof that you can make a great perfume without taking out a bank loan. A treat full of seductive amber and precious woods. If you like this type of fragrance, don’t miss the Noble Wood. Refined, balanced, and extremely elegant, it’s an elixir that captivates the senses thanks to a creamy sandalwood mixed with agar among other exotic woods and resins. Before spraying, the solid, polished gold bottle catches the eye. After four sprays, the dance begins: woody aromas fill the nose instantly, with touches of bergamot and pink pepper that are anything but loud and are perfectly blended. It’s the prelude to what you’ll feel once it settles: a deep, balsamic, and creamy oriental sensation with olibanum, benzoin, and amber. It lasts almost 10 hours on my skin (fading at the end), with clear presence and a complete picture. Use caution (4 sprays are enough). Elegant and versatile for cold weather, it adds a plus to formal events or dates, while the dry-down invites closeness in intimate encounters. Note: it’s too strong for the office if you overdo it, acceptable for the gym, and forbidden in enclosed spaces. Bought blind, it turned out more beautiful than imagined. Great perfume with notable performance and a tempting price. Go find a place that carries it, ask for a sample, or ‘blackmail’ your neighbor if they have one. Try it.

  • I’ve been wanting to try S.T. Dupont’s Noble Wood for a while due to the notes and recommendations, and honestly: it hasn’t disappointed; it’s a masterpiece. It opens spectacularly with wine barrel, pencil sharpener, dry and smoky woods, incense, and a perfect creamy amber. It evolves from that sharp opening into an exquisite dry-down that’s subtly sweet. It’s inevitably compared to Raghba Wood Intense, but Dupont wins on quality and elegance by dialing back the other’s excess sweetness. Only for wood lovers: it smells like luxury in the sawmill and a glass of Möet on a pallet. I see it as masculine, but it would look great on a woman too. Longevity and projection are excellent, and the presentation is exquisite with a solid, heavy gold bottle.
