I love the scent; that mix of vanilla and woods is spectacular. The downside is that longevity and sillage are moderate, average for today’s perfumery, though compared to Arab perfumes, it feels a bit weaker. I bought it with Shaghaf Oud by Swiss Arabian, and they are similar scents; Shaghaf has more florals and depth in the oud, while Al Mazyoona highlights the vanilla, but Swiss Arabian wins by a landslide on longevity and sillage, so I probably won’t repurchase this. When I run out, I’ll buy the gold bottle. Al Mazyoona is more for daily wear, going out for lunch, or heading to work—I don’t see it for nights out or wearing with a suit. That said, for the price, it’s worth it and I have zero regrets. Scent 10, Longevity 7, Sillage 6, Versatility 8, Value 10, Overall 8.
I’m obsessed with this perfume; that vanilla-wood combo is brutal. The only thing missing is a bit more longevity and sillage—they’re decent, average or even above average—but compared to Arab perfumes, it’s clear they weigh less. I bought it alongside Shaghaf Oud by Swiss Arabian, and they smell similar (Shaghaf is more floral and deep on the oud, while Al Mazyoona shines on the vanilla), but Swiss Arabian wins by a landslide on longevity and sillage, so I probably won’t repurchase this. When I run out, I’ll go for the gold bottle. Al Mazyoona is more for daily wear, going out for lunch, or heading to work… but I don’t see it for nights out, evening events, or wearing with a suit. That said, for the price, it’s worth it and I have zero regrets. Scent 10, Longevity 7, Sillage 6, Versatility 8, Value 10, Overall 8.
If you love vanillas and the Arab style, this is right up your alley. At first, it didn’t quite convince me up close, but it lasts forever and leaves a great trail. It’s more feminine, with that Arab touch in the spicy (saffron?) and woody (sandalwood) base. It smells very sweet, but the vanilla isn’t that typical gourmand custard—what a relief! (bye-bye Yves R). I see it as better for cool or mild weather because it gets cloying otherwise. It has something reminiscent of A*Men: a sharp sweetness that expands into a silky/powdery texture, very present in Cuba Prestige, which I associate with black currants. Thanks to Emorandeira for the comparison, as I also suspected they were very similar. (Still haven’t gotten Shaghaf)
It’s sweet, with vanilla and caramel notes, a European touch, and a slight camphor vibe. I find it feminine and ideal for people over 30. It’s not super potent or long-lasting; it reminds me of another scent but I can’t quite place it. I’d give it a 6.7.
Lattafa Raghba smells very similar, but the quality is on another level.
