Descripción
Polo Sport Woman by Ralph Lauren is a floral aquatic fragrance for women. Launched in 1997, this composition was created by perfumer James Krivda. Its top notes of melon, lemon, peppermint, aquatic mint, eucalyptus, orange blossom, and aldehydes unfold a vibrant and refreshing opening. The heart reveals freesia, ginger, cyclamen, lily, ylang-ylang, musk, poppy, violet, rose, and nutmeg, weaving a floral and spicy harmony. Finally, the base notes settle on cedar, sandalwood, oak, ebony wood, amber, and patchouli, imparting a warm and woody foundation that lingers over time.

Classically adorable…
Nostalgic memories, a youthful and super fresh scent.
One of my favorite fragrances. I associate it with words like WATER, LEAVES, AIR, RAIN, EARTH… It truly reflects many aspects of nature (which is why it feels so sporty). It’s fresh and leaves a trail of energy like a clean breeze… It stays consistent over time and allows a wonderful harmony between mint, lime, orange blossom, and ginger (the base notes don’t interfere with this blend but rather support, highlight, and make it long-lasting). URBAN and slightly VANGUARDIST: excellent for carrying in major cities. Superlative quality.
One of my favorites. It reminds me of water, leaves, air, rain, and earth. It reflects so many aspects of nature (which is why it feels so sporty). It’s fresh and energizing, like a clean breeze. It’s a timeless scent that allows for wonderful wearability, letting mint, lime, orange blossom, and ginger harmonize beautifully—the base notes don’t overpower but rather support and highlight that balance, making it long-lasting. Urban and slightly avant-garde: perfect for big cities. Absolutely top-tier.
Usually, I’m not a fan of super fruity perfumes, but this one strikes the perfect balance between fruitiness and a super fresh, slightly herbal touch. It’s incredibly refreshing, energizing, youthful, and unique. I love it.
One of the perfumes that captivated me the most. I remember when I was a kid in ’97; a classmate used it. She was about 11, and I just adored the scent. Time passed, she transferred schools, but later in our teens we reconnected because we lived nearby and realized we shared the same taste in fragrances. From then on, we became very close friends. A couple of years ago, while talking about perfumes in her room, she showed me she had two 50ml bottles of this gem—a limited edition released in my country. It’s discontinued and nearly impossible to find here in Chile. She’d bought one at a great price, and someone had gifted her the other, so we made a trade: I gave her a nearly full bottle of L’eau par Kenzo Woman, and she gave me a brand-new, sealed Polo Sport Woman. The moment I applied it, I felt pure ‘happiness,’ haha. Seriously, it’s luminous, floral, soft, fruity, yet grounded with a woody base. The opening is aldehyde-heavy but short-lived, giving way to juicy fruits like melon and lemon, aquatic notes, and fresh flowers, finishing with a soft, watery, yet persistent wood. The longevity is impressive. It’s gone everywhere now, but it has that quintessential ’90s vibe: fresh, slightly soapy, and long-lasting. Definitely one of my all-time favorites. I owned the men’s version twice, but this is way better. I still have a bit left in my bottle, and I’m sad it’s running out since it’s so hard to find in Chile. Anyway, it’s perfect for sunny days, summer, or right after a shower. It works in winter too, giving a clean, crisp feeling. A true masterpiece by Ralph Lauren.
I owned this too, but it was discontinued in Chile. I loved it—it was fresh and youthful with great longevity.
What a lovely memory! It was my companion for my 15 years, along with XS by Paco Rabanne. This was my freshest, most relaxed choice. A beautiful fragrance: citrusy, herbal, with a hint of spice. Melon, lemon, and herbs; it evokes freshness, strength, and independence. It was one of the first of its kind, so it really set the trend.
I’m surprised reading the comments to see others feel the same way about a fragrance. I used it, just like Montita, for about 15 years; it was my signature, and everyone close to me knew that was my scent. Polo Sport Woman is, for me, the best perfume I’ve ever had. I’d love to know how to get it in Chile. I’d love to have it back; it would be wonderful. If anyone knows, please let me know! Another perfume I used twice, or bought twice, is Paco de Rabanne. It was also discontinued in Chile. It was exquisite!! It was a unisex perfume that came in a silver can-like bottle, super original for that time.
I’m surprised to read that others like it too. I used Montita for over 15 years; it was my signature, everyone knew that scent. Polo Sport Woman was the best perfume I’ve ever had. I love it! I’ve been searching and searching for this perfume on Mercado Libre but can’t find it.
I met this through my sister-in-law and liked it. It’s easy to find and affordable, but I wouldn’t buy it. I love fresh scents, but this one feels a bit lacking. It’s nice, doesn’t bother anyone even if you overapply it. It’s a good fragrance, I think it would make a great gift.
It takes me back to my 16, 17, and 18-year-old self, right when I started college. I love its freshness and cleanliness; it stays exactly the same from the moment you apply it until the end. Perfect for summer—very refreshing and a great perfume.
Aquatic, fresh; I had it in my adolescence and got it again a year ago. What a shame it’s discontinued.
I had it in my youth; it’s very fresh, penetrating, and summery. It’s not easy to wear; I think it’s quite strong and sometimes it gave me a slight headache. Recommended for outdoor use, youthful and fresh.
The fragrance of my life, from age seventeen until they stopped producing it. Twelve years of using it tirelessly. I loved the scent, and those around me did too. I still keep a bottle with a few drops of the fragrance, and every few years I smell it again. While it’s true that my olfactory tastes have changed a lot, and I’m no longer as drawn to citrus or ozonic fragrances, the scent of this fragrance still pleases me, though I’m not sure if I’d still use it today. It’s fresh and citrusy, with very well-balanced sweet notes (the melon stands out). And on my skin, with my teenage glands, it was the perfect tandem. The trail was moderate, but I also used a lot of product. I bought Pure by Issey Miyake hoping to find the heart of Ralph, guided by reviews, but I haven’t found any resemblance to this. It was a great fragrance for a simple, unpretentious nose.

It was my first designer perfume; my dear aunt gave it to me in school back in 2001. It lasted until college (2003) because I applied little and it was strong, lasting all day. I remember a fresh citrus scent, what times those were.
Something like Armani Gioia.
What a shame they stopped it. I’ve never smelled anything like it. I still have a little bit left and I don’t want to use it for fear of losing it. An elegant citrus jewel.
My first perfume, I miss it so much. It reminds me of the sea, sunset, a tan, the sand… oh, so many memories. What a pity it’s discontinued.
What a special perfume… what a shame they stopped producing it. It was like three fragrances in one: explosive fruit turning rough, complex, and marine, the perfect portrait of a summer day at sea. Ideal for being on a boat, feeling the wind, the scent of skin kissed by the sun in your first youth with life opening up like the ocean. By evening, the base settled: nothing like what they use today, just oak, cedar, amber, imperceptible patchouli, and sandalwood. It ended with a beach aroma, a party finale, sea salt. So beautiful, elegant, and rounded; it lasted days on my skin. I never got tired of it.
Does anyone know why they stopped making it? Is it a lack of ingredients?
The perfume I loved the most. I used it for years until they stopped making it. I reached out to James Krivda, its creator, to ask for a recommendation; he suggested mixing One by CK with Issey Miyake. I haven’t tried it yet, but I wanted to share this with all of us who miss that special scent, which I haven’t smelled anywhere else since. If you try this combination, please let us know if it resembles Polo Sport. Hopefully, one day we’ll find it again, even if reformulated.
Looking for something that reminds me of this; I really need it in my life.

I’m not sure if mixing CK One and Issey Miyake equals Ralph Lauren Polo Woman, but it does. When I smelled the Issey, it brought it back instantly, almost like smelling it again, like a twin. Although what remains on the skin changes in minutes because Polo lasted all day and projected a lot, while the Issey almost vanished. Polo Woman was and is a great perfume, round and complete, with all its facets.
Perfect, balanced, fresh, full of life. I hope to find something similar to this work of art someday. Unforgettable.
Where are you? Total beauty!!! Just reading the formula makes me feel happy about this fragrance from my youth. I still have a 200ml jar of moisturizing gel. I use it occasionally on my hands so I don’t finish it. The scent is indescribably perfect, defying adjectives. Open the jar and it’s still intact; its notes speak for themselves. They discontinued these olfactory jewels to churn out more of the same and entertain us with flankers. All we have left is the memory for those lucky enough to enjoy it. A 10 (ten) outstanding score for this Woman.

I come crying for all of them… Acidic, aquatic, floral, refreshing, marine, woody, subtly sweet, mineral, clean. It has just enough persistence and sillage. It’s an unforgettable fragrance that had everything to become a classic. What a terrible pity that it now exists only in my memory and I can’t feel it again. They should consider a reissue for those of us who enjoyed it for years and now feel orphaned without this precious gem. It’s hard to achieve something so delicate, energetic, and balanced with so many notes. We’ll always miss it.
I first encountered this scent through a dupe I bought with some Zenz ones (which are said to be good), but sadly I never got to try the original. I’ll give this dupe a chance and share my thoughts. It’s fresh yet elegant, very versatile, and has a distinctly ‘perfumed’ vibe without the melon note, though I agree it’s very well-balanced. I loved it for its elegance and versatility. It lasted on my skin for 33% even after showering. If I buy it again, I will.
What an exquisite scent, so fresh and unique. I used it for many years, last time in 2005, and I’d love to have it back.
I received this fragrance as a gift recently. It’s an old bottle but well-preserved. Smelling it again felt like rubbing a magic lamp and finding a treasure. So rich! It’s fresh, aquatic, fruity, and youthful. I detect a hint of melon and something nice and medicinal, probably eucalyptus. The best part is its balance: it has fruits, herbs, flowers, and earth. I love the feeling it gives. I’ll enjoy every last drop.
For anyone missing Vie Est Belle in Rose, I recommend this one because it’s very similar. It brings back memories of that perfume that’s no longer available and that I always loved. What a shame they stopped making it; I adored it.
Hey, girls from Buenos Aires, if you’re Polo Sport Women fans like me, you have to check out YASMIN ASTE in Haedo. They have a dupe that’s identical, I can’t believe it! When I tried it, I was blown away. It’s the same! Hope this info helps.
