Share what you noticed: opening, drydown, sillage and the moments when it works for you.
When I bought it, it had an unbalanced smell: powdery vanilla with a very rich but obnoxious, loud saffron. It gave me olfactory fatigue. 3 months later its true nature came out: a large plank of white, powdery wood, with a clean vanilla, spiced by the saffron and the honey note, but a honey that’s a bit sharp, slightly acidic, almost camphoric. A discreet, somewhat addictive scent that conveys an immaculate seriousness, like that of a white room with heavy white curtains and marble on the walls, lit by the midday sun. It’s a bit expensive, and I imagine it’s nothing interesting for most people. I think I miss a little how it smelled at first.
To be practical, it is 80% similar to the now-discontinued Bohemian Oud from the same house; it just offers a different presentation and an inflated price, of course. It is also very similar to Smoked Oud & Vanilla by Maison Alhambra, except the Zara one has a camphor-like note that doesn’t quite fit with the others. It gives it a synthetic smell, especially on the skin. It definitely isn’t worth the price of 35 euros, even though they present it with a magnetic cap and sell it to you under the name of a special fragrance. The longevity doesn’t match the price either. Does it need to oxygenate? Maybe; time and chemistry will do their job. In the meantime, I store it with the fragrances I couldn’t make heads or tails of. In my opinion, it has nothing to do with Althaïr by PM, not even remotely.
A gem. By The Fireplace vibe.
After trying it in-store, it surprised me quite a bit. Very similar to PDM Althaïr, both in the opening and in the development. Totally for fall and winter, although it’s not excessively sweet. I don’t see the resemblance to By The Fireplace by MM, as other people mention. Quite an interesting release. I recommend it for the price and its scent, although it’s one of Zara’s “expensive” ones. If its longevity and projection were acceptable (I haven’t been able to verify), it would compete with Liquid Brun for the title of best “clone” of Althaïr. P.S.: It has a magnetic cap, which is always a plus. UPDATE: After spraying 3 sprays on my forearm, the scent lasted 10-12 hours, so it has pretty good longevity.

For me, it’s a reinterpretation of By the Fireplace with a touch of honey, but with a touch that also reminds me a lot of Althair but without that orange blossom. Honestly, it’s not bad at all, although these are more expensive compared to the average Zara.
