Descripción
Le Mâle Pride Collector by Jean Paul Gaultier is an oriental fougère fragrance for men. Launched in 2020, this composition was created by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. The top notes of absinthe, cardamom, mint, lavender, and bergamot provide a fresh and vibrant opening. The heart reveals a warm and spicy harmony with caraway, cinnamon, and orange blossom. Finally, the base notes stabilize with vanilla, sandalwood, amber, cedar, and tonka bean, closing the olfactory pyramid with lasting elegance.

Looks like this sailor won’t dock until the COVID lockdown is lifted. It’s just one of the seasonal launches delayed by the situation. With the engine room paralyzed and uncertainty over whether they’ll produce hand sanitizer like rum, Puig’s marketing hasn’t stopped to shed light on Le Mâle Pride Collector. Amid these lockdown days and unnecessary online shopping, they sent me a sample that confirmed what we already knew: Puig is the joy of perfumery. Le Mâle returns with the same traits that made it famous in the late 20th century and continue to deliver strong results in the rankings. It does so by restoring its excellent performance under a collector’s edition for fans. They’re bringing back that groundbreaking, generational creation with its original spirit. The hints of shaving foam, lavender, and bakery vanilla are still there, along with the murky varnish that awakens with sweat. Just a few tweaks to the longevity to bring it closer to the idealized man by Kurkdjian complete this revision of the myth. Because the sailor returns from the ports to the streets, strutting his stuff among urban wildlife and making sure everyone notices. What else is pride but that? Talk to me, sailor, about the sea…
It seems this sailor doesn’t reach port until the coronavirus crisis lockdown lifts. He’s just one of many seasonal launches delayed by the current situation. With production halted and uncertainty about whether they’ll make hand sanitizer like rum distilleries, Puig Group’s marketing team hasn’t stopped to bring us the latest heir of this dynasty: Le Mâle Pride Collector. During these confinement days and unnecessary online perfume shopping, I received a sample that confirmed what we already suspected: Puig is the joy of the perfume world. Le Mâle returns with the same characteristics that made it famous in the late 20th century and continue to dominate the rankings. It does so by restoring its excellent performance under a collector’s edition for fans. We get back that groundbreaking, generational creation with its original spirit. The shaving foam touches on lavender paired with that baker’s vanilla are there, just as the murky, hormonal varnish comes alive with its own sweat. I’ve lost count of how many editions have come out. In short, if you already have the original Le Male, don’t waste money on this edition; the only difference is the more colorful bottle. Now, if you’re a collector of masculine torso bottles, go for it, but don’t expect to be surprised by the contents.
Fantastic aroma and 100% masculine! Although the bottle colors might hold you back a bit when buying, associating them with the LGBT flag and prejudices that might pigeonhole you into that trend, if you’re clear about your sexuality—even if it’s hot pink—and it smells like a masculine scent, you buy it. But those are just commercial distractions; the liquid is a gem. It’s an enhanced variant with special longevity, and I’d say they put extra effort into making it perfect, in a way, it’s exquisite for me. While it carries the DNA of JPG Le Male El Terrible, here the notes create a very interesting blend with cinnamon, cardamom, etc. The question is whether it’s worth having, and obviously, it is! It lasts longer, it’s a more refined and improved variant, it sticks around for hours, and the top and base notes, wow, it’s a marvel, it lasts forever. Now I’m still seeing comments and bad reviews about this special edition, and it’s clear that most of the people giving opinions have never even had or tried it; it seems like they don’t even have it and are just talking to give an opinion, which is really pathetic; they should ask users for photos of the perfume they have to corroborate your opinion with evidence and basis… or is envy so strong that they prefer to throw trash at it?!
Fantastic masculine fragrance! Sometimes the bottle colors make you hesitate due to LGBT flag associations and prejudice, but if you’re clear about your sexuality—even if it’s hot pink—and it smells like a man, buy it; those are just marketing gimmicks. The liquid is a gem: a potent variant with better longevity and a desire to make it perfect. For me, it’s exquisite. While it carries the DNA of JPG Le Male, the notes blend cinnamon, cardamom, and more. Is it worth it? Obviously! It fixes better, lasts longer, and both the top and base notes are wonderful. I keep seeing bad reviews and it’s clear most people have never even owned or tried it; they seem to speak just to opine, which is pathetic. They should ask for photos to verify the base… or is envy so strong they’d rather throw trash?
This Pride Collector version of Le Male is an improved take on the classic EDT—almost identical but slightly sweeter, with a cinnamon note that’s not cloying. It’s very fresh and rich, perfect for summer. I’m not part of the community, but I’d still recommend it and buy it again.
This Pride Collector Le Male is an improved version of the classic EDT—almost identical but a touch sweeter. The cinnamon isn’t cloying; it’s super fresh and rich for summer. I’m not part of the community, but I recommend it and would buy it myself.
Smells like a bird.
Do people buy this for the liquid or just because of the bottle?
