The idea isn’t bad; I think it’s a good fragrance. The violet note, though not new, has charm thanks to that famous mentholated blend from Gaultier that identifies its family. It has a certain Le Male touch but is distinctive, as a flanker should be. It also has some Le Beau vibes due to the woody touch. The bottle with military colors is very pretty and worth collecting. Longevity is normal—neither beast nor water—with projection like the house’s recent releases. I consider it one of the best recent ones, but you need to like violet, a particular scent that dominates the dry down along with the woods. Taste is subjective, so try before you buy.
What catches my attention is the association of violet with the aviation world, something I believe Dior did with Fahrenheit and Cartier with Envol. In my opinion, it resembles motor oil. The scent is pleasant, easy to wear, but doesn’t stand out too much. It’s a good option for those tired of Le Male and Ultramale who want to stay with the house. Performance is quite good, on par with its mother.
The idea isn’t bad, I think it’s a good fragrance. The violet note is cool thanks to that famous mentholated mix from Gaultier that tells you it’s part of his family, with a certain Le Male touch but distinctive, just like a flanker should be. It has some air with Le Beau due to the wood, and the military-themed bottle is worth collecting. The longevity is normal, neither beast nor water, and the projection is in line with the house’s recent releases. I think it’s one of the best recent ones, but you need to like violet since it dominates the dry down along with the woods. As with all tastes, opinions vary, so try before you buy.
Smells like CH with violet and a touch of Invictus Aqua 2016. It’s very good and has excellent longevity!
JPG reclaiming its roots without the horrible Puig. It doesn’t smell like the synthetic CH or the excess of Le Male; I sense it’s greener and more mentholated, like Le Beau Male with lavender. It’s very fresh, with excellent longevity and good projection. For Le Male fans, it reminded me of the pre-Puig editions that destroyed the brand, with fresh green floral touches. Very pleasant.
Tested it today. At first, it smells sweet with a rough herbal touch, then the powdery violet spice kicks in with a spicy halo reminiscent of CH and Eros. It evolves into a spicy floral with pleasant woods that balance it all out. It’s fresh, sweet, and spicy, with that creamy floral brightness making it perfect for day wear or a heavier application at night. Nothing groundbreaking, but it beats the bland Le Male in the Navy and lasts forever. It smells on everyone but keeps its personality amidst the mossy, sweet, floral, and spicy notes. Not bad at all.
I tried it today. At first, it smells sweet with a rough herbal note, then the powdery violet stings with a spicy aura. It reminded me of CH and Eros. Then it shifted to a spicy floral with pleasant woods that balance it out. It seems fresh, sweet, and spicy, with a creamy floral brightness ideal for day and night. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it beats the bland Le Male in the Navy and lasts a long time. It’s a particular scent between mossy, sweet, floral, and spicy. Not bad.
Although I’m not a huge fan of the JPG Le Male saga, I own Le Male BPI and several flankers like Ultramale, Le Beau, or Popeye, and none are bad. Maybe Le Male is a bit dated, but it still pleases. I bought it at a good price, it smells fresh, like PM, and women love it. Like all JPG scents, if you can buy it cheap, don’t hesitate.
Found it blind and was pleasantly surprised; despite the bad reviews, it smells incredible. It feels warm and gentle like the D&G Pour Homme with a brutal trail. I sprayed it on my arm and it left clouds of scent reaching straight to my nose. If you like those two points, I recommend trying it before it disappears from the testers since it’s a limited edition.
I found it blind and was surprised despite the bad reviews. First, it smells incredible—warm and gentle like D&G Pour Homme. Second, it has great projection; when I apply it to my arm, the scent reaches my nose. I recommend it if you like these notes, before it disappears from the testers since it’s a limited edition.
I tried it in-store and was surprised: it’s like CH Men on steroids. Brutal performance, lasting over 8 hours with an amazing trail. Very sweet, and the violet accord is executed beautifully. It’s the perfect alternative if you don’t want the decaffeinated CH Men. It has nothing on Le Male, but the scent is delicious and the performance, being an EDT, is incredible.
Smells like sweet violet and mint, just like a Tic Tac. I wear it to parties, gatherings, and the beach—it’s perfect for outdoor camping. My wife uses it to scent her duvet; it fills the room for about 3 hours, and on the skin, it lasts around 6. The aluminum bottle with the red velvet base is very chic.
You can definitely smell the violet and mint, like eating a sweet Tic Tac. I wear it for parties, family gatherings, or outdoor activities like camping; it’s a lot of fun in the afternoon or evening. My wife sprayed it two or three times on a duvet and it soaked the whole room, lasting about three hours and I can still smell it close to my skin after six. The bottle is very charming, aluminum with a red velvet base.
I’m surprised no one has mentioned that it resembles Josier’s Green Leather; it reminds me of that more than CH Men.
Interesting fragrance. I first smelled it in December 2019, and it was barely noticeable on blotter; I thought my nose was saturated, but I hoped it would be the third torso in the line. I bought it in March 2020, and my surprise was that it barely smelled, a slight Toy Boy-style touch that disappeared quickly and stayed close to the skin. The curious thing is that others could smell it, but I couldn’t, and it became one of my least favorites. Gradually, I started using it again, smelling it more and appreciating details. That initial Toy Boy touch remained, something like pepper or the violets, but it worked. It’s very similar to Le Male On Board but without that sweetness; maybe if you own one it’s redundant, or you can alternate depending on whether you want something more masculine, aquatic, or sweet. Longevity: 7 to 8 hours. Projection: I’m still investigating because I smell it, then it stops, comes back, but others can smell it. I give it an 8; I’d recommend testing on skin before buying unless you’re a collector. PD: I wouldn’t buy it again since having On Board makes it very similar, and I enjoy that one much more.
It seems like a fragrance far from the ordinary; the scent is perfect for daytime and evenings. I use it when it’s cold, and it performs very well. I consider it unisex; my girlfriend uses it and it’s one of her favorites. I bought it blind and hadn’t smelled anything similar before. It lasts about 10 hours with average projection. I give it a 9.5 out of 10.
It seems like a perfume far from the common ones, perfect for daytime and afternoons. I wear it when it’s cold, and it performs very well. I give it a 9.5 out of 10.
Finally bought it and I’ll get straight to the point: does it smell like CH Men? 50% on the opening, 90% on the dry down. Someone said it was CH Men with steroids and they were right. It lasts about 8 hours without issues. For an EDT at that price, it’s excellent. The CH Men batch I used for comparison was from 2021. If you’re looking for the CH DNA with better performance, the JPG Aviator is an excellent option.
As a fan of the Le Male and its endless flankers, I was very disappointed with this launch (and the previous ones). Since Gaultier has been distributed by Puig, everything has gone downhill; the only decent ones have been Popeye or Superman, the rest are absolute disappointments. I won’t buy it; I don’t understand why they make these soulless, cheap perfumes.
I just added it to my collection; classic Le Male lovers might not like it because it’s an entirely different DNA and scent profile from the original, but I loved it. As they say, it’s very similar to CH Men (that DNA that drives me crazy), but it lasts a breath. I already tried Bentley Momentum Intense and it didn’t convince me, but this Le Male Aviator has pleased me immensely; good performance with that DNA, no more.
Just added it to my collection. Fans of the original Le Male might not like it since it’s a totally different DNA and scent, but I loved it. It has a lot in common with CH Men, that DNA that drives me crazy, though it lasts about a breath. I already tried the Bentley Momentum Intense and it didn’t convince me, but this Le Male Aviator has really won me over. Good performance with that DNA, nothing more.
Yes, it has very little to do with the classic Le Male, but if you see it as an independent fragrance rather than a flanker, it’s very solid. It lacks the star factors like the sweetness of the Elixir or the charm of Le Beau, but it’s a well-made masculine perfume with good longevity that women like.
The opening smells very similar to CH Men, then the mint and violet leaves kick in; it’s a delightful fresh fragrance.
It’s rich, but on my skin it has poor performance and weak sillage; with luck, it lasts two hours, what a pity.
I love breaking the mold and not following the usual script; the Aviator is very different, and I like that. As a fan of the saga, I appreciate that it’s not a copy, and I loved that fresh yet sweet opening. Violet notes dominate, but they sound great, and it’s ideal for hot days because it’s not heavy, though you do need to reapply since the longevity is moderate.
