Descripción

Irish Leather by Memo Paris is a leather fragrance designed for men and women. Launched in 2013, this composition features the olfactory signature of Alienor Massenet. The top notes unfold a vibrant freshness thanks to juniper berry, pepper, and mandarin. The heart reveals herbaceous and floral nuances with yerba mate, statice, and iris. Finally, the base notes anchor the essence in a warm, textured foundation of leather, cedar, and vetiver.

  • If I wear it purely for myself, it doesn’t sit well with me. It opens with a herbal and fruity note that turns bitter and blends into a very rough leather; it’s not easy to wear and I find it not very seductive. If you like it and buy it, wear it for your own enjoyment.

It starts with a fairly raw and slightly bitter leather alongside juniper berries, creating a spicy and spicy sensation. Then the leather softens a bit and I smell something green, I suppose from the mate. The bitter and spicy sensation persists. At this point, I’m reminded of the smell inside a car with leather upholstery. Finally, the juniper berries sweeten briefly, but I still notice that initial bitter sensation, which doesn’t quite please me. Its performance is moderate, good longevity with not very high projection, but without stopping smelling it yourself. Without a doubt, I see it focused on the male gender and I think it would be better used in cold climates. Personally, although I expected it to be worse, I think it’s not a poorly made perfume since I think it achieves what it seeks to convey, but I simply can’t see myself wearing a scent like that. It’s not my type of leather at all. Too raw and not aromatic enough for my taste.

  • Not much more to add to the magnificent reviews that preceded me. Hard, coarse, masculine, and bitter leather. It has a very similar hint to Italian Leather, as at some point the sour top of the juniper berries (predominant for me) gets confused with the tomato leaf, which although not declared here, resembles it quite a bit. It’s a somewhat strange, original, sour, and winter scent, though not poorly made. It smells like dark blueberry skin, fir tannin, and a green resin. It recreates the sensation of drinking a dry gin tonic like Larios Dry and biting the berries it comes with. I imagine it more as a backdrop in an English wool shop, like a room freshener, but honestly, not much on a man.

  • I agree, I wore it today (decant) for the first time and it’s a scent I don’t like too much. It’s not unpleasant, but it’s also not a perfume I’d buy or wear regularly. There’s something somewhat creamy (I guess that’s the note they want to give the leather, like in Iberian Leather which also has something creamy or sweet underlying) and a green/bitter note I think is the mate, which is always there and ends up being a bit repulsive. It also reminds me, as mentioned above, of other Memo leather scents with tomato leaf (which I also don’t like). I don’t see it as harsh or raw, but rather creamy, green, bitter, a quite unisex green perfume. It seems more rough/masculine to me, for example, Russian Leather.

  • It’s a suede-type leather but refreshed by green notes. I see it as quite unisex, though I think it looks better on male skin. It would be ideal for a man on a casual summer outing. It doesn’t resemble any commercial scent, and I notice the tomato leaf note in Italian Leather but not in this one. Good sillage and longevity, definitely niche, which doesn’t mean you should pay the two hundred-plus euros without blinking because I don’t think it will be everyone’s taste.

  • Excellent and versatile leather eau de parfum, understanding leather as the path one would take with Tom Ford’s Ombré Leather. Among Memo’s leather compositions, Irish Leather and Moroccan Leather fit that idea best; with Irish being like a Ray Tango and Moroccan a Gabriel Cash that likes to make a statement. Upon application, in the first five minutes all the notes find their place, as with other Memo perfumes. After that time, we can make a solid judgment because it’s not a perfume that evolves (top, heart, base), but all ingredients are present from the start, allowing leather to be the protagonist from the very first instant. With leather as the axis, in the first phase berries and mate are the companions, but later it’s amber and tonka bean. That’s why I say it’s a versatile, elegant, and clean fragrance that dresses the wearer. Personally, I use it for formal and semi-formal situations (office, daytime dates, etc.), with a shirt and long pants, shoes, and a leather belt. Irish is great for close encounters. I wouldn’t recommend using it in intense heat. Not because you can’t wear it, but because it won’t perform as well. Regarding longevity and projection, based on my experience and that of my friends: with the current formulation, 5 or 6 applications on skin alone will last 6 to 9 hours. It projects about 1.5 meters for the first hour, then progressively reduces to close-to-skin level (approx. 15cm) in the following hours. It fulfills elegance by not being loud and staying close. This perfume expresses itself by pumping its aroma. All ingredients in Irish Leather are of very high quality, and its leather has excellent craftsmanship, as few Western perfumes have. I consider acquiring Irish an outstanding purchase for lovers of elegant leather without frills. However, if you’re looking for more projection and longevity in a leather with similar characteristics but less elegant, I’d recommend trying Moroccan. Always remember to test Memo fragrances on skin, as most don’t smell the same on paper as on your skin; you’ll be surprised in every way.

  • Irish Leather is one of my favorite tested scents from the Memo Paris Leather collection so far. Here, leather is the star, but unlike many, it’s not harsh or rough… it’s fresh, noticeable, and very wearable. At first, it’s aromatic and herbal, slightly bitter, with juniper berries predominating and some spices. You can smell a smoky touch, maybe from the mate. As it dries, what I perceive is the leather with woody notes, never losing its freshness. Undoubtedly a green scent, but not sharp. It’s masculine, clear, daytime, and luminous, wearable all year round, though ideal for spring or summer. I see it as versatile, super daily, without falling into the typical men’s cologne trap… it’s for every day with that extra touch of elegance and distinction. Good longevity on skin (more than 8 hours) with moderate projection and sillage. I liked it a lot.

  • Am I crazy, or is this Green Irish Tweed with steroids? I tried it in a store and thought it was a gem. It’s green and ultra-fresh with hints of cucumber, but then dries down to a fresh, clean leather, not warm like most. That dissonance makes it unique, kind of like Rasasi Oudh Indonesia putting citrus into oud. Reminded me of Green Irish Tweed, but with more green and a leather base. Felt elegant yet bold. However, the price made me go with La Yuqawam Ambergris Showers instead. It’s not out yet, but if it’s stronger than Memo, it’s definitely a gem. I suppose if you’re tired of the usual leathers, this offers an unexpected twist.

  • It doesn’t work for me. A rough and green leather that I don’t see as wearable. It reminds me a lot of a Lataffa I had and never got used to. The leather doesn’t present itself in an accessible way, and the accompanying notes, green and piercing, make it more complicated. There are spices and something almost bitter. I would have liked to perceive it as more pleasant. What a pity. It’s masculine, lasts well, and not recommended for heat.

Not for me. It’s a rough, green leather that doesn’t look good on me. Reminds me of a Lataffa I owned and never got used to. The leather doesn’t sound accessible, and the sharp green notes make it even more complicated. There are spices and something almost bitter. I wish it were more pleasant. A pity. It’s masculine, lasts well, but I wouldn’t recommend it in the heat.

A definite no for me. Smells like a bunch of things I already know; zero novelty. It’s not an aroma that attracts me: it’s green, spicy, full of herbs with a leather touch that doesn’t dominate. Sounds dry and astringent, very masculine. Not for me. Scent: 6, Longevity: 7, Sillage: 7.5, Price: €225 for 75ml.
