  1. It’s Ombré Leather Parfum with touches of the EDP. At first, it smells exactly like the first one, but it’s not that aggressive leather critics mention; it’s refined, like the seat of a luxury car, nothing beastly. I don’t get why it’s still in Private Blend if the two previous versions are almost identical. Projection is just right and longevity is mediocre for the price, though it’s a good perfume. I grabbed it cheap because I’d never pay what they ask when you already have the other two; the differences are minimal. This one is finer and more discreet, dry but pleasant, less floral than the Parfum. Maybe Tuscan Leather is the Parfum, this is the EDP, and the EDP is the Absolu. In short: if you already own the EDP and the Parfum, don’t spend more on this unless you have extras or find it on sale.

  2. The blend of saffron, leather, and incense makes it smell like oud at first, but as it dries down, you notice a rich incense with guest leather. It might seem repetitive, but the incense makes all the difference.

This comment isn’t a perfume critique, but a utilitarian one. I haven’t tried this TF fragrance, but let’s talk about leather: without vaseline, isn’t it more cost-effective to buy a real leather jacket? I have a Schott that smells like leather after years of use, and you don’t need to spray cologne; the jacket radiates its own scent that lasts forever, rain or shine. A leather scent dissipates in 10 hours at best, and the bottle runs out before that. A jacket lasts at least a decade, keeps you warm, and doesn’t bother you in spring. Synthetic leather sprayed on skin tires the nose and can cause olfactory fatigue at work. Plus, there’s a chemical risk when applying perfume, whereas real leather is treated with chemicals but isn’t sprayed on the skin. Finally, the price: 100ml of TF is over $400, while a quality jacket doubles that price and lasts longer than the perfume’s three-year shelf life. My intention is to encourage pragmatic investing without losing style or inflating your wallet to a megacorporation.

@Gengibrol Gengibrol Wanting to smell like leather doesn’t mean you want to wear leather clothes. I feel the answer is as simple as the question. Cheers.

It smells like an ashtray full of cigar ash, the scent of old dive bars with decades of smoke and dampness. One cannot deny the mastery of replicating that smell so realistically. If you don’t remember, look for a full ashtray and you’ll know the aroma. Personally, I don’t like it; I don’t smoke, and that might be why. I don’t recommend buying it blindly.

  6. It’s Ombré Leather Parfum in a more expensive bottle; that’s all there is to it; maybe it’s slightly more intense, but that’s it.

  7. I was looking at reviews for this perfume and read this last one… finally, I signed up, and what made me take the step was this review… I’ve been laughing out loud for 10 minutes. Call me crazy, but it’s spot on. “One cannot deny the mastery of replicating so realistically what I just described.” This killed me. I was a smoker for years and would never have liked the smell of a humid ashtray… who could like that? I hope to comment more, but I had to give credit where it’s due. I still wonder if it’s sarcasm or sincerity, who knows. Let it be known that I don’t know Tuscan and don’t think I’ll buy it; I’m not into that style. Plus, I own quality jackets that smell like leather… And thanks to the comment, it brightened my day.

Almost finished fragrance. Masterpiece perfume and an icon for me. The leather note is very prominent, adding character and strong personality. It conveys seriousness and sophistication; I find it sensual, though not everyone likes it. The last person told me it smelled like brand-new luxury car leather seats. In short, a perfume to enjoy for yourself, with maturity, seriousness, and sensuality. I’m leaning toward the Ombré Leather line to see how it goes.

You can’t really detect the raspberry, but it’s better than Afshan’s Rare Carbon, which has heavy flowers like marigolds or tea (to describe that bitterness even though it doesn’t contain tea). Very nice presentation, and I didn’t like the other dupes from these Tom Ford bottles due to their scents.

I know my money is worth gold, so I didn’t waste it on trash that smells like shit, like Ombre Leather at full blast. That scent is for a 40-year-old grumpy guy, not for normal people.

  11. This is pure leather, super rough. If you wear it, it hits you hard in the face. It smells like Leatherface from the Texas slaughterhouse, it’s distant and not pleasant, but I love it.

  12. Tuscan Leather is, without a doubt, one of the best leathers out there. The opening is rough but it executes perfectly: strong and robust, yet it reveals a more delicate side over time. It’s linear, yes, and some criticize that, but when something is this well-made from the start, that consistency is a virtue. It lets you enjoy that dry, sophisticated leather without distractions. It’s eminently masculine, combining the rough with the elegant, and although it’s pricey, it’s not prohibitive. Compared to Montale’s Aoud Leather, which is sharper due to the oud, Tuscan Leather stays refined even in its rusticity. Ombre Leather is softer and more accessible, while Daniel Josier’s Green Leather is fresh but less solid. The saffron and raspberry notes add a subtle sweetness that balances the leather without stealing the show. Longevity is excellent, around 8 hours, with a strong projection at first that later becomes more intimate. Ideal for fall and winter; although versatile, don’t wear it in the heat. On cold days or outdoors, you can even wear it during the day in a semi-formal setting. In short, it’s for those who love pure leather. A masterpiece that doesn’t need to evolve to be enjoyed.

I fell in love at first sniff. As a leather lover, this was something I was missing. The opening is like luxury leather seats, very fine and treated with solvents. As it dries, the raspberry appears, adding sweetness to the leather. As the hours pass, it becomes very smoky and resinous; the projection lasts about 2 hours on my skin, then it settles closer to the skin for another 12. At the end, the raspberry and leather turn into suede. It doesn’t get many compliments for its complexity: it’s not a fruity or fresh scent. If you’re a leather lover, get a decant because it’s very expensive. I paid almost 6,000 Mexican pesos for the 100ml version.

A 10/10 powerhouse. Elegant, refined, and with quality components. Use it in very formal situations. With two sprays, you get over 12 hours of longevity. It’s expensive, but in my opinion, it’s worth it. Along with Venetian Bergamot, Tobacco Vanille, Noir Extreme, and Fabulous, this is one of my favorites from Tom Ford.

One of the best leathers I’ve tried. I’m a lover of difficult leathers, to the point where Gucci Guilty Absolute feels very pleasant to me. Knowing that, it’s no surprise that this Tuscan Leather feels excellent. I don’t know if the blend of raspberry, saffron, leather, and incense is by the creator, but in this product, the combination is very well crafted. I’m not saying it’s for everyone, but you have to recognize its worth. It has great projection and longevity, which justifies the price. Although there are high-quality imitations, this one stands on its own as a must-buy for any serious collector. A brave user will know where to wear it, but if not, it’ll be a great complement for romantic dates. It’s not for kids, young people, or the elderly; the attitude needs to be intelligent. It’s elegant and a bit haughty, reminding me of Mr. Ford. I find it eminently masculine, but I’d love to smell it on a woman. Recommended.

  16. I like it; it has a slightly smoky, sweet resinous scent. It’s suitable for fall and winter. I found it quite linear; from the start, it has that resin, leather, and smoke smell, with the sweet touch of raspberry occasionally peeking through. If you like mature scents but not too aggressive, it becomes addictive. I recommend it for people over 30 with formal attire, and preferably try it before buying, as that enveloping darkness might not suit everyone. It’s not like Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille, which is sweeter and dominated by vanilla. In Tuscan Leather, the soft smokiness prevails with occasional sweet bursts of raspberry. Longevity was over 12 hours. At the end, the smoky sensation faded, leaving a sweet aroma of raspberry and amber.

  17. I bought a decant to try this fragrance… I wasn’t too attached because leather is a very intrusive essence and generally in perfumery it ‘devours’ the others, ending up smelling just like leather. However, I found an exquisite scent. The opening is acidic and sweet, where the suede projects sublimely… I love the smell of suede on clothes, and believe me, it feels very natural in this perfume. Then comes the tanned leather smell, but it’s not invasive like I expected; instead, it combines perfectly with something sweet and feels wonderful on the skin. That symphony of aromas finishes with a blend of saffron and resin, always with that suede note in the background, projecting for hours. In this case, the fragrance costs what they charge. Oh, I see it as very wearable in cold climates and for people 30 and up; young people won’t like it because it’s not that mass-produced sweet bubblegum scent.

  18. Personally, I don’t like its scent at all. If you don’t like leather, this fragrance isn’t for you. I was expecting the fruity part, but when I smelled it, it gave me a bit of a gag, as I perceived the leather as very bitter. I felt like I was at a fair in the animal section, with straw, pigs, and horses that hadn’t been cleaned in days. That’s how I perceived it, that smell combined with straw. I’ve tried to see it from another olfactory perspective, but ultimately, it’s not for me. I’m not saying it’s a bad perfume, but many people won’t like it. Just that if you’re not a lover of this note, don’t buy it at all.

It’s a leather perfume, very similar to Ombre Leather, but here the leather pairs with red fruits, whereas the other blends with flowers; both are undoubtedly the best leather fragrances you can buy. As for price, I went with Ombre Leather because since they’re so alike, there’s no real difference. Tuscan Leather is from Tom Ford’s private line, so it’s pricey, but both are top-tier with 100% quality.

It’s not just a leather perfume; it IS the leather perfume. My favorite of all time, my untouchable staple on the shelf, and my loyal companion. It’s a passion for the leather note, something so special it smells like a warm embrace from a loved one who is no longer here. That sweet raspberry with real, fine, elegant leather, along with saffron and incense, is an olfactory delicacy. The price is high, but I’ll pay it as many times as needed.

  21. I don’t have a launch decade list, but it’s common knowledge that this Tom Ford fragrance was the first to popularize the leather-raspberry-incense accord, followed by other fruity leather scents. When Tom Ford is the creative director, magic happens, and back in 2007, that’s when Tuscan Leather arrived. The scent is straightforward: dry, slightly dehydrated leather, highlighted by saffron (similar to suede) and green thyme, plus a fleshy, slightly sweet raspberry. There’s no notable evolution; that initial block makes up everything. The saffron and thyme fade, leaving the raspberry and a soft emerging incense. It’s an olfactive block of raspberry-leather, powdery and sweet, pure delight. On paper, it promises good performance; today it lasts over 8 hours with strong initial projection that fades into a desirable trail. I think cold weather provides the ideal setting, like a glove. It’s elegant and expensive, so better suited for semi-formal situations. As a successful fragrance, it has imitations, but any of the mentioned ones serve the purpose for less. The resemblance to La Yuqawam is impressive, though less rounded, but the difference is minimal. If I could choose, I’d go with Tom Ford as the original. Tuscan Leather is a gem; if you like leather, try it; if not, stay away because the leather note gets intense and isn’t very friendly.

  22. Tom Ford Tuscan Leather is leathery, smoky, and woody. The opening is smoky and slightly fruity, elegant from the start. Then the leather takes over with woody and smoky notes; it’s not rugged thanks to the raspberry and a floral touch that make it approachable. It doesn’t have many twists. It’s elegant, featuring velvety leather, wearable but not for daily use—more for parties or cold weather. Longevity is over 8 hours with strong initial projection. Highly valued by leather lovers, though I took a while to discover it; I recommend trying it if you’re seeking leather; it’s worth it despite the price.

What the hell? Why do some people claim Tuscan Leather was the first leather note? Don’t they know leather perfumery existed long before? Bel Ami, Fahrenheit, Polo Green, Moschino, Gucci, Givenchy Gentleman, Aramis, Carlo Corinto, Halston Z14, Salvador Dalí, Oscar de la Renta, Safari, Azzaro, Quorum, One Man Show, and classics like English Leather, Knize, Creed’s Royal English Leather with 250 years of history… These guys are idiots. Give them a zero if they talk about perfumes without knowing history, act like ‘experts,’ influence the market this way, and have companies suck up to them. At the very least, learn some history, @Mr Félix

  24. It’s not an easy fragrance for everyone. For me, it’s unisex with a masculine touch. That mix of sweet fruity and leather gives the sensation of fruits masked in something dirty, like a bitter fruit. It’s potent and noticeable. Very particular and different from common scents. Some say it smells like that white powder on a small thing that makes you happy; a friend confirmed to me that it does have that note.

  25. It’s an extraordinary and special fragrance. While it has been copied to the point of nausea, this private blend offers superior quality in structure, trail, and longevity. It hits the nose immediately upon spraying: raspberries first, then leather and suede with incense and woods, which form the permanent essence. This woody leather-suede, bathed in incense and raspberries, moves away from the unisex concept; it’s probably one of the most masculine private blends. An exceptional fragrance for a sophisticated man.

  26. Tom Ford Tuscan Leather. For leather lovers, it’s very similar to Ombré Leather, but TL is rawer, wilder, more tanned, natural, paired with raspberry, and has a smoky touch that rounds out this iconic scent. OL is almost its twin, but with less harsh leather—more treated, cushioned, and wearable. Both behave linearly. Both are excellent, but I lean toward TL; it’s a matter of taste. Tom Ford fragrances have been reformulated since 2018; OL (2016) was a beast in projection and longevity, but now it’s far behind. Tuscan Leather wasn’t spared either; its $250 price for 50ml and reduced performance make many look elsewhere. Verdict: Great fragrance, expensive, scarce, and with disappointing performance. Poor value for money. Scent: 9.0, moderate projection for 2 hours, longevity 8 hours.

BOOMBA!! I can’t help but start with that. It’s one of the closest matches to Tuscan Leather. An intensely strong fragrance. I’d bet my life it’s the most intense I know, right up there with Amouage Interlude Man. I guarantee even the washed clothes smell like this. My nose gets overwhelmed if I sniff it up close repeatedly. A bomb. Tremendously refined leather thanks to the fruity nuance. Classified as unisex, but for me, it’s clearly masculine. Perfect for autumn-winter and evening wear. Worth the price because it’s a truly unique scent. While Acqua di Parma Leather and Ombré Leather remind me of it, this one has more character.
