Descripción

First Instinct Extreme by Abercrombie & Fitch is an aromatic fougère fragrance for men. Launched in 2018, this composition was created by perfumer Philippe Romano. Its top notes of starfruit, pepper, and mandarin leaves provide a vibrant and exotic opening. The heart reveals a sophisticated blend of violet leaves, Sichuan pepper, cardamom, and saffron, adding depth and spicy character. Finally, the base settles with a warm and enveloping accord of musk, amber, coconut milk, suede, and cashmere wood.

  • First Instinct Extreme is an aromatic, aquatic, and very fresh fragrance. The scent is quite fruity and pleasant. This Extreme version definitely improved the performance that the original lacked. The aroma is similar, though the listed notes are very different: no more melon or tonic, but starfruit instead. The violet notes are noticeable, giving it an ozonic and aromatic touch; as it dries down, there’s a slight creamy and ambered scent. I think it’s one of the best options for summer and among the freshest of this year (2018); it’s one of my favorites. The longevity was outstanding (varies by pH), lasting about 10 hours. I recommend it to those who liked the original First Instinct but wanted better performance.

  • Sweeter, more potent, and denser than the original First Instinct. Abercrombie nailed the performance boost, even if the scent feels a bit heavier. Perfect if you loved the first one but want better longevity.

  • A sweeter, more potent, dense, and long-lasting version than the original First Instinct. Well done by Abercrombie, as this has improved significantly in performance, albeit at the cost of being a bit heavier. Highly recommended if you liked the original but want something that lasts longer.

  • A fragrance that perfectly balances green and aquatic notes. I haven’t tried the original, but for me, this is a hidden gem. Excellent quality, and I consider the scent innovative since it’s nothing mainstream.

Blind buy fail. Ultra-synthetic blend with that cloying, trendy sweet base. Boring to death, at least it wasn’t expensive… The classic lasts shorter but smells way better.

Blind buy fail. An ultra-synthetic blend with that overly sweet and tiring base that’s so trendy nowadays. Boring beyond belief; glad it wasn’t expensive… The classic version lasts less but is much better.

  • I like it; hard to define but it’s good. Buy blind: a modern fragrance with decent sillage and moderate longevity, even in the ‘extreme’ version.

  • I like it; I can’t really define the smell, but it’s good. Blind buy success: a modern fragrance with moderate sillage and longevity, even in the ‘Extreme’ version.

  • I was surprised by the scent and its evolution. I thought it would be more linear and commercial, but it has great personality compared to the classic version, which is good but fresher and more discreet. For the price, it’s an underrated gem in terms of cost-to-benefit ratio.

  • The scent and its evolution surprised me. I expected something more linear and commercial, but it has real personality compared to the classic, which is good but fresher and more subtle. A truly underrated gem for the price.

Honestly, when I first smelled it, I thought it was an average, reliable, and fresh fragrance. But after wearing it almost daily over the days, I realized it’s rich and has great personality. For the price, it outperforms many others, and as my girlfriend said, it smells like a ‘clean, fresh man’.

  • Just arrived today; another blind buy from online. It’s a slightly sweet, ambered scent with a vanilla touch (maybe from the coconut milk notes listed) and spicy undertones. I feel the performance is a bit weak since it fades after a few minutes to skin scent only (which I think is actually not bad for the price). Compared to other perfumes, it reminds me of Valentino Born in Roma Intense.

  • One of my worst blind buys, but at least it’s not too expensive. I only detect suede, amber, and a ton of pepper. It’s not fresh at all. Lasts about 5 hours with decent sillage; ideal for the office or autumn nights for people over 40. Eventually, it gets a bit tiring. 5/10.
