I just tried it and I have to decide: should I keep it or not? At first, it smells like straight-up lemon, but then the coconut enters and there’s still lemon on top. It reminds me of lemon pie, rich and sweet, but the smell is weird; I’ve never felt anything like that. I want it, but I need to smell it again to be 100% sure.
Haha, it happens to me just like Pía’s; it must be the excitement; it smells like a soft, subtle sunscreen, reminding me of Yves Rocher’s Tahiti Monoi, but over time the vanilla is exquisite. Definitely, it will be mine. I adore Lolita, lol.
Original, luminous, and comfortable fragrance. The sweetness of coconut and vanilla predominates, but the lemon and some spicy notes are also very noticeable. Highly recommended.
This is what I’m using right now and I would never wear it in winter. It smells rich like sun cream. At first, lots of lemon, seems fresh but not really. The scent doesn’t last long, but within that freshness, the coconut and ylang-ylang come out. It gets a bit more intense but stays fresh because the lemon fades when the perfume stops being so strong. After a few hours, only a very soft vanilla remains, which isn’t worth it. It’s a scent for a moment, for going out for a drink on a summer afternoon. It’s special because it’s summer made into perfume. If aquatic scents are the sea, this is the sand and the air filled with the smells of tanned skin under the sun.
This is the perfume I use now. I would never wear it in winter. It smells rich like sun cream. At first, the lemon is very noticeable, seeming fresh, but not really. Still, it’s always fresh because, unfortunately, the scent doesn’t last too long. Within that freshness, the coconut and ylang-ylang start to emerge. It becomes more intense, but still fresh because the lemon disappears when the perfume stops being so prominent. After a few hours, only a very soft vanilla remains, which isn’t worth it. In short, it’s a scent for a moment. Perfect for going out for a drink on a summer afternoon or a night with no plans. It’s special, yes, because it’s summer made into perfume. If aquatic scents are the sea, this is the sand and the air filled with the smells of tanned skin under the sun…
A refreshing lime opening that then transforms like magic into a creamy jasmine with coconut. Ylang-ylang with myrrh peeks through in the distance, adding a touch of sophistication to the sweet, indulgent vanilla. A work of art for my nose. I’d been looking for a perfume that reminded me of the natural scent of lilacs in the sun during summer, and this is the closest I’ve found. <3
The coconut smells so natural and creamy! It starts with a citrusy touch like sunscreen, but then it settles and leaves the coconut with vanilla and a floral hint. They say it’s a summer scent, but it’s winter and I’ve loved it. Its longevity is excellent, reaching up to 12 hours, and the sillage is moderate.
The opening is spectacular, fresh with lemon and coconut, but this doesn’t last long, almost nothing. Then it settles and only vanilla and myrrh remain. It’s rich, but for this price, there are better fragrances.
Elegant summer perfume. At first, with the myrrh and lemon, it seemed strange and I wasn’t sure about it, but today I tried it and my opinion changed completely. It starts with a sharp, potent, very real lemon, like you just squeezed it. Then a beautiful jasmine softens it and coconut enters, creamy, tropical, and voluptuous. At that moment, when the coconut dominates, it’s my favorite. The opening is incredible, but it doesn’t last. After a while, only the coconut remains, less harsh, with ylang-ylang, softer. After an hour, everything becomes very subtle and barely noticeable. The myrrh closes the show. On my skin, it lasts nothing, which disappoints me; I feel it lacks strength. I was already eager to try Elle L’aime for this summer, but it didn’t convince me either due to longevity. I love the opening, but it leaves me wanting more at the end. A good Lolita Lempicka perfume, though it feels half-baked; I feel it’s missing something to be a total hit.
I just got it but it hasn’t caught my attention too much, I don’t see anything special. It smells too much like coconut and cheap perfume.
Ideal for summer or when you feel close to the sea. On my skin, it sounds like a sweet coquito but without being cloying, with a touch of ylang-ylang, myrrh, neroli, and soft vanilla. The lemon goes unnoticed. It’s pretty and pleasant, evoking pleasant sensations because I love the sea and coconut. It’s very feminine and delicate, not very potent or projecting; it works more as an aromatic veil that blends with the skin. It’s not for conquering, but for personal enjoyment and with close people. It makes me feel lovely and comfortable.
An ideal fragrance for summer and seaside environments, or to feed the imagination of such scenarios. On my skin, it highlights a sweet coconut (coquito or coconut kiss) that isn’t cloying (well!), the powdery sweetness of a subtle ylang-ylang note with a touch of myrrh powder, neroli, and very soft vanilla. Other notes that stand out, like lemon, go almost unnoticed on my skin. For me, it’s pretty and very pleasant, since I’m passionate about the sea, I love coconut, and other ingredients; this fragrance evokes very pleasant sensations for me. On the other hand, it’s very feminine and delicate. Projection and trail aren’t its strengths; it functions more as an aromatic veil that melts into the skin as time goes on. Definitely not a fragrance to conquer other noses 🙂 I consider it for personal enjoyment and for those closest to you. Personally, it makes me feel lovely and very comfortable… I like it.
A superb perfume for olfactory palates that enjoy unconventional and non-commercial aromas. You can deeply feel the coconut, but it’s not a synthetic smell like hand soap or moisturizer. It’s a powdery coconut, with a spicy spark that makes it fun and cheerful. The jasmine opens delicately between the coconut and finally, they make this perfume an excellent option for summer and spring, for those evening walks or shopping afternoons by the sea. It’s not a fresh perfume, but it has presence without being overwhelming. Ideal if you’re looking for a youthful and cheerful scent that has character and is distinctive. Wonderful.
This fragrance is my first Lolita, a designer I was resistant to, perhaps because notes of anise, licorice, or violet aren’t my strong suit. A blind buy, unable to try it in-store and with an unusual scent, since I wanted a fragrance with a coconut smell but not the typical summer one. The opening is rich, a mix of citrus, bergamot, and lime, a fresh explosion in my nostrils. The citrus aroma doesn’t disappear but blends with the other notes. Then delicate white flowers appear, jasmine and orange blossom, along with a very creamy, somewhat oily coconut, where you can perceive that bitter touch of ylang-ylang, to finish with a sweet and warm base from the vanilla-myrh combination. It’s a sparkling, fresh, and young fragrance, suitable for both summer and cooler times due to its warm, creamy, and sensual base. Its trail is soft and longevity is average, about 5 hours on me. The bottle is amazing. A staff of power that fired my imagination. It’s a transparent cylindrical tube with golden letters that seem to emerge from a luminous trunk if you hold it against the light. On the cap, there’s a golden maple leaf. It’s curious that all perfumes by this designer relate to nature: apples, clover, butterfly, coral, and now the trunk of a tree. I was struck by reviews saying it smelled like oil or bronzing lotion. To me, it smells like aftersun, a balm lotion for after a day in the sun, that calms burns. It evokes my youth, at 18, when you’d arrive at the beach on the first sunny day with pale British skin and wanted to capture it for yourself, arriving at night with a Caribbean tan. We weren’t so afraid of the rays back then, like now with SPF 50+, and we did crazy things like putting Nivea cream with Mercromin or Johnson’s baby oil on to see if we’d burn faster. Watch out, I’m not giving ideas, that’s terrible! And when we got home and showered, we were like shrimp, red and sore, and that’s when this soothing balm cream came in, which we got drunk on from head to toe. That’s what this fragrance smells like, a three-in-one: perfume, bronzing oil, and soothing protective cream. And for going out at night barely dressed in a cotton dress with thin straps, sandals, shiny eyes, and a washed face without makeup, already red enough, with sore shoulders that if someone approached to greet you, you’d jump back four steps and shout ‘don’t touch me, it burns!!!’. Them: ‘you’ve been at the beach, does it show?’. Hahaha! And then to bare skin! For those who don’t mind those painful memories, this is a perfect late-summer perfume, where you take the sun with you, original, evocative, and very sensual, because it smells like glowing, soft, and bare skin.
I liked the perfume right after applying it… but as time passed, I only felt the incense… and I started to feel dizzy… I don’t know what it is… but after a while I couldn’t stand it!! and the bottle is so cute… it’s really sad… and it lasts forever on my skin…
Elle L’aime is a good reintroduction to the brand after my disappointment with L’eau Jolie. Offering special aromas as always. It’s a summer breeze on the beaches of Camboriú, Brazil. A simple fusion between vanilla, coconut, and citrus that evokes the breezes from the east. A memory of sunscreen scent, fresh fruits, and that tan line on a small child’s waist. It starts with a dominant coconut with friendly and subtle citrus, giving an essence of liberation, relaxation, and freshness. A jasmine that went on a romantic vacation with the vanilla (and they intend to make love on the beach) accentuates the discreet sweetness and gives way to an oriental conclusion, essential in Lolita Lempicka (myrrh is the standout, so the vanilla will have a smoky touch). Elle L’aime is the very essence of summer. The fragrance of adolescent coquetry, of suggestively licked ice cream bars, of sunscreen running down arched backs from the sensation of cold, of aromatic bronzer on thighs and knees, and of course, lecherous looks toward specimens of the opposite sex (or the same? Diversity exists and I support it). It can be somewhat ‘inappropriate’ in exaggerated proportions and a mistake in cold climates, but still, it’s a splendid perfume. With excellent heat resistance, delicious longevity, and moderate trail. It’s the ideal presentation of Lempicka for stifling and sweaty seasons.
I was given a sample and I love the sugary Lolita Lempicka style from old times, with great trail and longevity. This one, however… is a soft, feminine, and refreshing scent. I perceive the jasmine and coconut, very feminine and summery. Ideal for girls looking for a discreet and fresh perfume. Perfect for summer.
Buy blind too, in my case the eau de parfum. And I really like it! It is indeed a different aroma, so I wouldn’t recommend buying it without trying it, even though it worked out well for me. It’s weird because the lemon is very present, but the coconut and vanilla add a lot of warmth. A contradictory perfume, warm and fresh at the same time. As if the citrus and oriental parts were trying to steal the spotlight all the time. It seems like the notes don’t blend, but it works: it smells great. The opening is very citrusy and you can smell the coconut, and as time passes, the lemon softens (though it doesn’t disappear), the coconut intensifies and is adorned with white flowers that keep it fresh. Have I said I like it yet? The longevity is excellent: from 7 to 19, and it’s still going. The trail is good at first, but not brutal either. I would use it in any season except winter, but only because of the lemon (I don’t like citrus when it’s cold; I don’t know why). Oh!, the bottle is gorgeous. I’ll love to try the eau de toilette. I don’t know if they share notes and could be very different. Wish Fragrantica distinguished them for more appropriate reviews. In short, a pleasant surprise. Original, distinctive, and paradoxical perfume. And at a great price. Edit: Fragrantica already distinguishes between ‘toilette’ and ‘parfum’. The first is L L’aime, and the eau de parfum is Elle L’aime. The bottles are identical.
I loved it; it smells like the beach and summer but isn’t that typical coconut sunscreen scent. Nope! It’s creamy and elegant, really surprised me. You have to give it a chance because at first, it hits you with a blast of bergamot and lime that can be a bit shocking, but if you let it develop, you’ll realize it’s more than it seems. The coconut is a delight; I wouldn’t have imagined it mixed with jasmine. Finally, what lingers on my skin after 6 or 7 hours is the jasmine and that delicious vanilla. I recommend it if you like to be surprised with unique fragrances from Lolita Lempicka.
Elle L’aime is for those who love citrus with that sweet vanilla and coconut twist; it goes beyond the typical summer/beach vibe. Everything is meticulously crafted, nothing rough, everything fits perfectly without clashing, giving off a youthful yet elegant air. It starts with tempered bergamot and neroli, accented by a gorgeous lime that’s almost sweet and tart. Suddenly, a coconut enters that isn’t sticky or cheesy (with a hint of ylang-ylang), carving its way in with charisma and elegance, creating a lovely sparkle. Then comes the vanilla with its sandalwood, adding a tropical tone without losing solidity or smelling like cheap sunscreen. It’s a sunny, consistent perfume for looking put-together in the heat. The quality-to-price ratio is brutal, much better than many that cost triple. What sometimes a perfume brings with its simple execution. Thanks, Rebecavpf.
I found you on sale and at first I liked you, but maybe it was just the first impression. The other times I wore it, we didn’t have good chemistry; the coconut and lime bothered me, they were the most noticeable. I love the coconut note, but on you I felt it very sugary. I’m sorry, with all the Lolitas we’ve had a good relationship, but with you it wasn’t the case. You reminded me of Escada summer scents. Despite that, you’re a good fragrance with good sillage. I’m glad you clicked with my mother.
A great discovery within Lempicka, a house that had already caught my attention but I couldn’t decide on any of their stars. This one, though less known, has nothing to envy, and like almost all their range, it has a very good price. On my skin it’s warm and enveloping, though contradictorily it could seem fresh to others. The opening is citrusy with a strong lime presence. Then the coconut enters, juicy and elegant, nothing gourmand or cloying. Finally, the vanilla and sandalwood, which give it the warm touch. Elle L’Aime is coquettish and sweet without being cloying, perfect for summer days and nights (it transports me to a sunset by the sea). It’s not a great creation, but it has its audience and for summer it’s perfect. I’ve received many compliments; even people told me I smelled like lemon pie. Who doesn’t like that? Mmmmm 🙂
I’ve been looking for everyday perfumes with a coconut scent; first I tried Gold Sugar and couldn’t, then I bought this. Although it wasn’t as bad as the Gold, I didn’t like it completely. I like the scent at first, but after a while it gives me nausea and I just want to take it off. I wore it new to the office and I had stomach and headache discomfort all day. I’m definitely giving up on blind buys; I always say I won’t do it again and then I do. I don’t know what to do with it: use a tiny amount or gift it like the Gold Sugar. I’ll think about it, but for now I haven’t dared to wear it again. It’s a tropical, sunscreen scent; I didn’t perceive the coconut, only the citrus and something sweet.
I don’t know if it’s my skin or if they reformulated it. The last time I wore it was last winter and I finished two bottles; I loved its intense coconut scent, perfect for winter. Today I used it again (I bought a new 40ml bottle) and it was a tremendous surprise and disappointment: it didn’t smell like coconut. I only smelled the citrus and after 3 hours I barely perceived any coconut. It was very sad.
On my skin, it opens with lime and then gives way to an intense, delicious jasmine and vanilla. Not a trace of coconut and nothing like aftersun or sunscreens. I don’t recognize it in the other reviews I’ve read. My husband thinks it’s very sensual and it’s one of the perfumes he likes most from my collection.
I’m so angry I can’t make this perfume work. Looking at the notes and reviews, I thought I’d love it and it would be one of my favorites; I adore coconut and vanilla, but the first and second times I wore it, it gave me nausea and discomfort. I don’t know which note I couldn’t handle, whether it was the combination or my pH. I had to gift it to a friend and hope it works with her.
It’s so rich; I love how the coconut and lime blend. My husband says it reminds him of a vacation in Cayo Largo, Cuba, and he’s right: it smells like sunscreen, like the beach, like the sun, but it’s a delicate scent. In the end, you can feel the sandalwood. Longevity on skin: 5 to 6 hours. Projection: very good for the first 3 hours, then it fades. Sillage: moderate. Rating: 8/10.
It’s the only Lempicka I own and I love it. I bought it blindly on sale because it was coconut-scented and thought it would be obvious that I’d like it. Said and done! I love its subtle coconut aroma, nothing synthetic, sweet but not cloying. I recommend it to anyone who likes the sunscreen smell but with a more sensual touch. The only flaw is that on me it doesn’t last long, no more than 3 hours. Everything else is perfect.
Elle L’Aime doesn’t seem like a Lolita Lempicka; it’s simpler and has fewer nuances, but I like it. The citrus only marks a quick opening, then coconut, myrrh, a bit of vanilla, and a touch of white flowers take over. Over time, the myrrh gains prominence. It doesn’t smell like sunscreen or typical monoi, though they share notes. It has personality, it’s warm, summery, and ideal for sunny days. Subtle trail, nothing intrusive. 8/10 scent, 8/10 longevity, 7/10 sillage, 7/10 value, 6/10 versatility, 9/10 packaging. I would buy it again.
I’m testing this in winter and from the very beginning, I notice a candied sandalwood that reminds me of Ultraviolet (and that’s a compliment!), mixed with very soft coconut and ylang-ylang notes. For now, the sandalwood dominates, but I wore it in summer and then felt more complexity and that ambient warmth.
Very rich; in my country it’s almost autumn/winter and it’s delicious. In summer, I think I’d wear it in the afternoon/evening for informal or romantic gatherings. Summer came to Argentina and for the second time in my life I found a perfume I’d repurchase without hesitation; in fact, since I read it’s no longer made and I have half the bottle left, I’m going to buy another. Every time I use it, I fall in love more. I don’t know if it’s romantic or sexy; it’s purely for personal enjoyment. PS: I finished it on June 16, 2022; I’m going to miss it, beautiful fragrance. Edited April 27, 2024: I found a replacement that’s almost identical, though it lasts a bit less on the skin, the Yara Tous by Lataffa.
To me, it smells like entering a santería; I burn incense regularly at home, and it smells exactly like burning myrrh. At first, you feel the coconut (very real, smells like shredded coconut), but then it fades and leaves a powdery trail. It’s for winter, but I keep burning incense in my house and my clothes get the same results as this perfume… myrrh, vanilla, and green lime in that order; that’s what it smells like. High sillage, moderate winter and night longevity. At first, it’s very sweet, but after an hour the sweetness mellows and leaves just the right amount of sweetness. This review is from winter or cold, humid weather. EDIT: I bought it in summer. CHANGE: with the heat, you feel the coconut, and the ylang-ylang is a creamy, intense coconut, with a sweet but not cloying woody base. Even with the bottle closed and unused, my room fills with the perfume’s scent. I don’t smell the citrus at all. The lighter, less durable version of this perfume is Hollister Wave 2; the coconut note is almost identical.
It’s nothing like I expected. I was hoping for something more beachy, with sweet coconut and vanilla. Well, nothing to do with that; it’s not bad, on the contrary, it’s very pleasant, but it’s not what I imagined. In its dry-down, it has the DNA of Lolita Lempicka’s Manzanita. It’s rich. I’d probably buy it. Too bad it’s discontinued; it’s a very different perfume from what comes out these days.
Elle L’aime is the least complicated and easiest to use Lolita Lempicka. I’ve always liked well-crafted coconut, and here it is, this delight. It’s wearable almost year-round; it opens with a realistic, sharp lemon, like piercing a citrus in half. This stage passes quickly, but the lemon doesn’t disappear; gradually, a finely crafted natural coconut emerges, which along with the jasmine and ylang-ylang gives it a solar and luminous scent. When it settles, you perceive the sweetness of the vanilla, which with the sandalwood and myrrh gives it a sweet, creamy, smoky, and powdery touch. It’s an essence that conveys joy, light, and sea, but it doesn’t smell like cheap sunscreen; instead, it transports you to a tropical climate with class and elegance, like luxurious vacations at a paradise island resort. Moderate performance, lasting four or five hours depending on factors, with an intimate sillage, nothing intrusive; it wraps around you giving a certain tropical and smoky warmth.
I gifted it to my wife last summer; she loves perfumes with noticeable coconut, so it was a total failure—she hated it, and I don’t blame her. Honestly, it smells like an old lady’s perfume to me; I only sense the dry-down and the myrrh a lot. I’ve seen reviews saying it smells like a santería, and I perceive it that way. Great longevity and sillage; it fills the room instantly, ending up like a bathroom air freshener. Luckily, it ran out.
As others mentioned, it’s unconventional. On my skin, the first thing I get is ylang-ylang with lemon, though it doesn’t sound green to me, more yellow. This phase lasts about two hours, then it becomes creamier (I think it’s the coconut, though I don’t sense it directly). It’s sweet and at times reminds me of sunscreen. In fact, it’s a bit like Yves Rocher’s milk sunscreen or Tahiti’s Monoï lotion; they’re not the same, I’m just saying it’s that type of aroma. Moderate projection and 6 to 8 hours of longevity.
I love coconut notes and bought it without a doubt… I don’t know what happened, but it smells horribly like burnt coconut. I’ve tried several times to make myself like it, but nothing. It’ll stay at the bottom of my shelf.
I saw many reviews and bought it. I loved it; a well-defined citrus opening, a unique scent, very Lolita. Gradually, it transports you to the beach; the coconut is very natural and sweet in just the right measure. The longevity was great on me; it didn’t leave until I took a shower.
The most linear, simple, and cheerful one in my collection; literally makes me happy just smelling it. From start to finish, it smells like sunscreen, not too sweet coconut. I love it; it’s the most wearable Lolita Lempicka I know. Projection and sillage are poor, but I reapply and I’m happy again, hehe. It makes me feel like I’m on a sunny beach even though it’s winter here; I wear it and I feel like I have my feet in the sand. I love it.
I only smell the myrrh; it’s like I lit incense at home and brought it on me. I don’t detect any citrus or coconut at all. I don’t get it. I’d wear this at night in the summer, but during the day it could kill anyone who gets too close. Still, I like it, but I wish I could feel what the majority feels 🥺
