I tried this fragrance borrowed from a neighbor. At first, I thought it was very common; it reminded me of sports perfumes like Adidas or Polo Double Black. But then I noticed it’s the freshest chypre I’ve ever smelled. Longevity is poor; I sprayed it a few hours ago and it barely smells anymore, same with the projection. Me, who used to hate the Lacoste line, liked the scent, although it’s not original. The mint-citrus blend is very pleasant; I adore mint combined with almost anything. The bottle is also nice.
This is the perfume I’m wearing right now: super fresh opening, soft base with a touch of wood. Ideal for everyday wear, it could even handle a bit of sport. Low sillage and regular longevity, so you can reapply without worry; it’s more for personal enjoyment. It’s perfect for summer and spring, in hot climates or open spaces due to that fresh sensation. It has sage, which I usually don’t like because it’s a bit harsh, but luckily it’s intense only at the start and fades quickly.
I’m not sure what to say about the pyramid because it conveys something else to me. I knew one of the collection was watermelon, and when I tried it, I thought this was it, since it maintains a fruity and sweet tone almost always; now I see the watermelon one is the black. Over time, that fruity scent sweetens less and becomes more floral, reminding me of tangerine; it could pair well with the bitter orange blossom note. I haven’t quite picked up the mint (maybe it just adds freshness) nor the grapefruit. I do smell the sage with its spicy touch, and the fern… I have several at home, and beyond a slight sense of green foliage, it tells me nothing, so I don’t know what function they serve. The overall effect is a bit like a cologne, lacking much realism or naturalness, but that’s not always bad; as I always say, for 25 euros online (since the official price is a rip-off), it’s worth it. Contrary to comments about performance, it worked well for me, I could smell it without issues, but with everything I’ve accumulated, I feel this doesn’t add much value.
THE MOST COMPLETE OF THE FAMILY: I wore this in 2013 alongside Blanc and Green; of the three, this was the most balanced and had the best longevity. The citrus and mint notes provide notable freshness; it smells sweet but doesn’t go overboard like Blanc. The wood notes give it character, making it versatile: it goes from casual to formal office wear. Longevity wasn’t top-tier, but it clung well to skin and clothes thanks to the patchouli and fern. Youthful, discreet, and heat-resistant, it shone in spring and autumn; with moderate heat, it was great for day and not bad for night. What a shame they discontinued it. Sprays: 6-8. Longevity: 7.5. Sillage: Medium. Intensity: Medium.
THE MOST COMPLETE OF THE FAMILY: I wore this in 2013 alongside Blanc and Green; of the three, this was the most balanced and had the best longevity. The citrus and mint notes provide notable initial freshness; it smells a bit sweet but doesn’t reach the extremes of Blanc. The wood notes complement it well and give it character, something Blanc and Green lacked. It was the only one with versatility potential, from casual to formal office wear, where it performed well. Longevity wasn’t amazing, but it anchored better to skin and clothes, thanks to the patchouli and fern, resulting in a very balanced scent. It was youthful, discreet, and resisted heat well; it didn’t have extraordinary performance but could be worn year-round, though it shone more in spring and autumn. Not so much in heat, good for day, but not ridiculous for night. What a shame they discontinued it. Recommended sprays: 6 to 8. Longevity: 7.5. Sillage: Medium. Intensity: Medium.
I’ve used this a lot and it’s the perfect balance between freshness and elegance, ideal for hot weather, though it doesn’t quite reach the quality standards that purists look for.
