I haven’t tried it yet, what’s the difference from the old version? Thanks 🙂
It smells a bit anise-like, with a baby powder vibe. It’s quite aromatic and innocent, which is why I see it as unisex; honestly, it would suit a woman better than a man. It’s a simple fragrance, lacking any real charm, easy to wear but nothing exceptional. I don’t think it stands out, and to be honest, I wouldn’t buy it. It’s made for a young, casual crowd. I’d give it 4/10, not because it smells bad, but because it offers nothing—it’s boring. For the price, you’d be better off getting something from Al Haramain or Lattafa.
This was my first perfume; I picked it for that green character which sounded ‘correct’. I only knew what was on my dad’s shelf: Flaño and Pino Silvestre. It opens citrusy but evaporates quickly to reveal its herbal identity of eucalyptus and mint; it doesn’t smell like toothpaste or breath mints, it’s just natural mint. As it dries down, it keeps the accords but sweetens a bit. It’s a green, noble fragrance perfect for everyday wear, fitting right into that sporty ambiguity. In the end, I gifted it away because it didn’t match my style; I had already leaned towards niche perfumery and this just didn’t find a place. Curious that it has two pages on Fragrantica, one from 1996 and another from 2022. I left the review here for database fidelity, since it’s the bottle I owned and the scent I know, though it’s most likely just new presentations of the Essential line with no reformulation (wink, wink).
