I bought it blind, and at first, the leather hit me so hard that I stopped wearing it for a while; I didn’t see it as unisex, only for an adult man. But when I tried it again, it was a charm: the leather softened, that sweet vanilla emerged without being cloying, and they created something exquisite and totally unisex. Today, December 27, 2024, it’s my favorite (I like it more than my signature scent, Arabians Tonka). I love how it smells on clothes the next day, sweet and subtle vanilla. It’s a beast in terms of longevity and projection, a classic Montale. I recommend applying it before heading out so the leather settles over the vanilla, since the initial burst is strong. If you get the chance, do it.

It’s an extraordinary perfume that fell me in love with the world of niche perfumery; I’d never felt anything like this before. It’s deep, dark, spicy, earthy, sweet, sexy, and totally unisex. It’s addictive; my boyfriend and I love it; when we wear it, we stick together feeling the scent, which projects like a bomb and easily lasts until the next day. I hope autumn and winter arrive soon so I can use it properly, because on hot days, even at night, it overpowers everything around me, barely needing one spray. My friends who tried it loved it; one already bought the bottle. A true gem, and I’m not exaggerating.

Delicious spiced vanilla, almost smoky, with a slight masculine touch, yet still very unisex. In its dry-down, it’s quite similar to Nishane Ani, but here in Chile, you can get it at one-third the price of Ani, with a better value for money, as on my skin both last almost the same. If you’re an Ani fanatic, you might miss its citrus-herbal opening, but that lasts about 15 minutes; after that, they’re very similar. So, this is another Montale I’ve absolutely loved.
ExPression
It’s quite a masculine perfume, with an exquisite, slightly powdery woodiness and a soft, mystical sweetness at the base. It’s similar to Nomad-Bond but with darker, more sensual tones. It’s a niche fragrance of a certain stature, it leaves an oil on your hands (don’t use on white clothes), and it lasts all day. Highly recommended for those who want to smell similar to Guerlain Homme Ideal, with a touch of Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo.

This is a true beast. Only for those who enjoy overwhelming and enveloping perfumes like me. Excellent for winter nights. As the name suggests, it’s a deep, absolutely dark vanilla with a quasi-narcotic effect. It lasts a century on skin and an eternity on clothes. That’s why I advise using it on a garment you’ll wear again and wash later; it doesn’t disappear that easily from the same spot.

Well, yes, it smells like vanilla, but mostly like leather. Like brand-new shoes, sorry for being so simple, but it reminds me of walking into a shoe store, yes, very fine and elegant shoes. Dark Vanilla is elegant and seductive; I don’t see this with jeans. And while at first sniffing it might seem like it’s for men, it’s so beautiful that I definitely plan to wear it too.

For me, it leans more masculine. It’s a lot of wood and lots of sweet oud. It has excellent power and longevity. I love the leather note; it’s very realistic. Honestly, when I smell it, a picture of an elegant man comes to mind. The notes don’t declare anything smoky, but it smells like wood smoke without actually smelling burnt. Very nice.

Honestly, I think this is one of Montale’s hidden gems that isn’t valued enough. I was looking for dark vanilla and stumbled upon this marked leather note that is simply incredible. It’s powerful, embracing, and in my opinion, mostly masculine, with an exquisite dry-down.
