It smells like a classic, clean, and elegant man, without falling into the ‘freshie’ trap, ideal for autumn because it’s potent but not overwhelming. For the price, it should be on every collector’s shelf. It’s like the Massimo Dutti line but with more punch.
Crossmen doesn’t cause wonder or leave a personal mark, but it has the power of those simple fragrances that boost initiative and give a sense of security and comfort. I use my splash bottle without measuring, and overuse isn’t dangerous; in all its phases, it maintains a kind, docile, and stimulating character. This mix of pineapple, grapefruit, orange, and nutmeg is a glorious trip to the beach. A warm sway of waves on a crisp March morning. A shimmering mirage of light. A footprint in the sand that reappears and disappears in a dance of freshness, sweet, citrusy, and salty. A Mediterranean aromatic melody. A glorious swimmer in a midday sea between waves and foam, touched by an orange and yellow ray of sun, embraced by a soft spring breeze.
Crossmen has been giving us its fresh, spicy, sporty vision for men since 1989, and it’s still sold today in a decent, enjoyable version that hasn’t turned into perfumed water like others. It holds a place of honor in drugstores at an incredible price, mostly in 200ml. Cacharet beat them to the punch ten years earlier with ‘Pour Homme’, sparkling and crystal-clear, which set the popular taste in the 80s when the coupe or sporty style was trendy. This fragrance has a sturdy structure, masculine yet effervescent, with a delicious opening loaded with orange, then it breaks with nutmeg and relaxes into a soft woody base. It’s not trendy anymore, but certain values are eternal: green, spicy masculinity with a desire for fun and freshness. It smells classic but not dated, manly yet sporty, offering aftershave sensations with the passion of an eau de toilette. It offers a lot for little. Very good projection at first, then softens after the first hour and has excellent longevity for its class. With that dry, electric orange touch, it achieved what the beloved ‘Rasgo’ by Puig couldn’t. Highly recommended, would say essential.
A classic fragrance for everyday life, no drama or pretension, for those who don’t want to overcomplicate smelling good. I’m talking about modern Crossmen. As someone who’s used it for years (and I have a few bottles), the drop in concentration has been brutal. Now it’s just a shower gel; back in the day, it was a real bomb. You’d spritz a little and smell good all day. Now it lasts a breath. I’ve heard gurus say it lasts over six hours… I’m sure they have old bottles. Otherwise, they’re lying outrageously.
One of the few that truly smells like bathwater, a classic from another era. No old-man vibe; a young person could wear it without issues. While it doesn’t have the original potency, they haven’t watered it down to a squeaky-clean suds either. The longevity is acceptable for the price. I see it as classic yet timeless, very masculine with a sporty touch that wraps around you softly. It’s for smelling good without pretension.
After reading Fragrantica reviews, I was encouraged to buy blind and I must thank the authors because I’m very satisfied. I’m not a pineapple fan, but I have to say it works perfectly here; although it’s clearly identifiable, it’s also very subtle. It’s like in the opening of Crossmen, the pineapple note acts as the conductor, making the whole thing a fresh and extremely pleasant citrus. Still, as the perfume develops into something soapy supported by a bed of woods, the pineapple continues to gently wrap around the other notes. A simple and effective delight. At least for me, it’s clear that it’s a product whose purpose is the enjoyment of the user. Surely it doesn’t aim to be a fragrance that incites those looks and compliments I read people seeking, but for a detail-oriented person who can see the good feelings it produces in the wearer, it won’t go unnoticed. Yes, I personally find it oriented towards men, but I won’t be the one not to recommend trying it to anyone. Very happy with this purchase.
I bought this blind after reading reviews on Fragrantica and I have zero regrets. I’m not a pineapple fan, but here it’s subtle and elegant, like a conductor putting the whole citrus ensemble in a fresh mode. As it evolves into something soapy with a woody base, the pineapple still gently supports the other notes. It’s a simple, effective delight made for personal enjoyment. Maybe it won’t seek attention or compliments, but for someone who appreciates good feelings, it won’t go unnoticed. Yes, it’s for men, but I recommend it to anyone. Very happy with the purchase.
I like to collect fragrances and have a special affection for vintage ones. I wear Crossmen and Cool Water from time to time to be at home; my wife loves them. It would be perfect if it lasted longer; I know it has a ridiculous price and you can buy a spray to replicate it, but that’s not what we want. The only downside is I haven’t heard of a ‘best mode’; a normal 4-hour performance would be perfect, and surely the price wouldn’t be outrageous. Fresh, spicy, masculine, and that subtle but present pineapple… I think it’s a scandal of self-indulgence, and for real, my wife likes it. Hopefully, they do a positive reformulation of this masterpiece.
When my dad passed away, I found this perfume in his bathroom while packing his things. Used to the niche world and adjectives like ‘bold’, ‘risky’, or ‘rebellious’ at prices over €50, seeing that he was happy with a citrus, linear, €6 fragrance made me smile. A 2013 batch that survived temperature changes in the bathroom and, despite being 10 years old, still smells amazing. Longevity? Little on my skin, but immense in my memory.
When my father passed away, I found this perfume in his bathroom while packing up his things. Accustomed to the niche perfume world and adjectives like ‘projective’ or ‘defiant’ at prices exceeding 50€, seeing that he was happy with a citrus, linear, 6€ perfume brought me a smile. A 2013 batch that endured temperature changes in the bathroom and, despite being 10 years old, still smells amazing. As for longevity? Scarce on my skin, but immense in my memory.
I used to wear it my science teacher in high school; we always wanted to know what he was using… we knew he was approaching because his trail reached us meters before he appeared with his white lab coat. Years later, I bought it and keep buying it. I consider it more masculine than unisex, but I like it. It’s clean, vintage, and for the price: a must-have.
Smelling it is like traveling back to the happy days of childhood with that beloved figure who is still around or has passed away but returns to memory every time you bring your nose close to the bottle, since in Spain this was the signature cologne of grandfathers, uncles, and dads alongside Jacq’s, Brummel, and Massimo Dutti in the ’90s. Masculine, sweet-herbal-woody, all-terrain, and timeless. Currently, it’s a bit diluted compared to the bottles from years ago and is more of a cologne for being at home fresh out of the shower or grabbing bread, but nothing that requires more than a couple of hours because it disappears quickly. I forgive it. It’s a total personal treat. Easy to find in perfumeries and supermarkets; the 200ml sells for 8 euros. A ticket to travel through time for just 8 euros…

In these times of cruel reformulations and pure business, it’s a relief that Crossmen still exists among us in such an exemplary way. It’s not as potent as the 1989 version that enchanted a generation with its fresh, spicy character oozing masculinity, but what’s the difference? It’s not far off from that original. To me, the aroma is the same, and the performance remains worthy. Seeing it for less than 7€ for 200ml makes my stomach drop with gratitude toward Coty for still manufacturing this timeless piece. Smelling it is like traveling back in time and getting close to the people who wore it or to yourself in those happy past days. Luckily, there are still fragrances that achieve this effect and have more value than others that cost ten, twenty, or thirty times more.
In these times of cruel reformulations, pure business, and consistent anti-romanticism in perfumery consisting of erasing mythical fragrances from the face of the earth just for the cliché excuse that they don’t sell, it’s refreshing that Crossmen remains among us and does so in such an exemplary way. Obviously, it’s not the same in terms of potency as the one born in 1989 to enchant an entire generation of men (and women) with its marked fresh and spicy character oozing masculinity from every pore. But what does it matter. Still, it’s not far from that original. For me, the scent (which is the most important thing in a perfume) is the same, and its performance remains very dignified. When I see it on perfumerie shelves for less than 7 euros for 200ml, I can’t help but shrink my stomach to the size of a grain of rice and quietly thank Coty for still manufacturing this timeless masterpiece. As the gentleman before me said, smelling it is traveling back in time and getting close to the people around you who wore it back then, or to yourself if you carried it in those happy past days. Luckily, we still have a handful of fragrances that achieve this effect and that, at least in my case, have much more value (and not just emotionally) than others that cost ten, twenty, or thirty times more.
The other day I stumbled upon this perfume at Druni, and seeing the 6.95€ price tag, I didn’t even think twice. I’m from ’84, and I smelled it in the ’90s when my uncle wore it almost all the time. He’s a beekeeper, and whenever we went in the truck to change hives, he always carried a bottle of this great fragrance; after working, when we’d shower, we’d douse ourselves in it because literally there’s no pump, and it just sprays everywhere. Nostalgic and fun. Anyone who sees it on the shelf won’t hesitate; they’ll love it because this scent doesn’t age. It even has a tiny bit of that pineapple note from Aventus. Buy it!
So, the other day I stumbled upon this perfume at Druni, and seeing the price, I didn’t even hesitate: just €6.95! I’m from ’84, and I used to hear about it all the time in the ’90s when my uncle wore it almost every day. He’s a beekeeper, and when he’d go by truck to swap or harvest hives, he’d always carry a bottle of this great fragrance; after work, we’d all spray ourselves because it doesn’t have a pump and just comes out in a stream. It’s heartwarming and fun. If you see it on the shelf, don’t hesitate—it won’t disappoint you; quite the opposite, I think you’ll love it because I see it’s timeless. It even has a hint of that pineapple note from Aventus. Buy it! Haha.
Brutal. I’ve been wearing it since I was 20, and it’s incredible. It’s not the most sophisticated or the one that gets the most compliments, but it’s fresh, perfect for daily use (even at night), versatile, elegant, masculine, and cheaper than a sandwich. A bonus is that it’s quite unique; I haven’t smelled anything similar among 100/200/300€ perfumes (maybe due to non-premium ingredients), so if you’re young, no one will smell the same. I get more out of it in autumn and winter since it fades quickly in summer heat, but I mostly use it as a fresh morning cologne. By the way, my girlfriend loves it and says it makes me look serious and attractive.
It’s a masterpiece. A timeless scent that everyone loves: elegant, masculine, and fresh. It has character and the longevity is brutal for this price; it’s unbeatable. On my skin, it projects for about two hours, then becomes a personal bubble for another two, and you can still detect it until seven. Impossible for anyone not to like it.
I paid 7€ for 200ml, which seems ridiculous. I smell it and absolutely love it; I let anyone try it without telling them the price, and they love it too. So, why is it so cheap? It’s classic but very accessible. It doesn’t last forever, but at 0.035€ per centiliter… I usually don’t recommend specific perfumes because every nose is different, but with this one, I don’t even hesitate. You’re just waiting to buy it.
Crazy how long this Crossmen lasts for such a low price. Not many fragrances last this long at this price point, and it smells 100% masculine with zero synthetic notes. It would easily make the Top 10 list for good-looking, handsome, and affordable men’s scents, beating out others that cost way more and then disappoint you.
