  It’s the watered-down version of Jazz. With the discontinuation of the original, L’Oréal released La Collection, which is a reformulation. It’s less bold and potent, but it keeps the Jazz spirit, just more ‘watered down’. It has a moderate trail and lasts about 6-8 hours.

  I’m having trouble describing the pyramid. I don’t know the original, but I’ve liked it. It’s serious, mature, herbal, spicy, and woody, but with the lightness to stand out without being a hammer. Maybe it helps that it’s a bit airy.

  I don’t know the original; I bought it blind and liked it. It smells like a serious, determined man, no mystery games. It conveys elegant and sober masculinity, decision, and confidence. I use it on fresh days or in winter. To smell and wear it is to feel a solid man, a boss, the master of time and space.

  As @DavidCovidfield says, it’s well-executed cilantro in a fresh opening that caresses and brings well-being. That feeling is maintained with a beautiful geranium, and the set of notes shines together. The dry down is clean, calm, and features that striking cypress. It evokes maturity, temperance, sober masculinity, and a kind elegance, nothing opulent. Duration and projection are moderate, but I wish they were eternal. If the original was better, it saddens me to have arrived late. Recommended to try.

  DavidCovidfield’s description (a bit further down) matches my experience almost perfectly. It opens with a beautifully crafted cilantro note—fresh yet unobtrusive, caressing the skin and leaving a sense of calm well-being. That vibe doesn’t fade; it’s sustained by a lovely geranium and the rest of the notes, which, while identifiable individually, truly shine as a whole. The dry down is gorgeous, clean, and serene, with that standout cypress touch. It definitely evokes maturity, restraint, masculinity, sobriety, and a relaxed, kind elegance that’s far from ostentatious. Longevity and projection are moderate for my taste, but I’m not objective since I wish they were eternal. If the original was better, I hurt that I arrived late. Highly recommend giving it a try.

  Manly and mature. It’s a refined 80s fougère, no gender debate. THIS IS MANLY! The opening stands out: smells like struck phosphorus (cilantro or other ingredients). That spectacular opening fades to leave a perfume like Azzaro Pour Homme, more refined and one I liked more than the original. No sweet, vanilla, or spicy notes as the website claims. Lasts about 6 hours, moderate but constant projection. It’s serious, for the man focused on his task. It vibrates like Azzaro or Bogart but with that unique phosphorus touch. Not for slackers, but for forty-somethings, fifty-somethings, or bureaucrats. It’s pricey in Argentina, but worth it.

  The original Jazz had marked florals and tobacco, a classic fougère of mastery. This isn’t outdated, but it has a style that new releases lack, so be careful buying blind. The collection lets you know that myth, but it’s more discreet, less dense, like a painting losing its colors over time. The reissue is pleasant, lasts a few hours on skin, but it’s missing the magic that made your heart race before. It’s a clean, dry woody spice evolving into green and sweet florals. Result: dry, fresh, barber shop vibe, with appeal despite the reformulation. A great reminder of another era. Should I buy it?

  This is a fresh, elegant, mature, formal, and masculine fragrance with a vintage essence but modern sparkles. Perfect for events, the office, a crisp shirt, a nice watch, and a professional outfit. In certain facets, it reminds me of Blem shoe polish, but in a more stylized way. I mainly perceive it as fresh and spicy with a light woody base. The aromatic green is present, but not like in classic vintage scents: it doesn’t smell like hard oakmoss or marked pine needles like Polo Green; it’s totally different. The notes are listed on the bottle side, and this is a reduction of the original Jazz notes. Initial projection is strong (60cm), then drops to about 10cm, but it still leaves some trails. Longevity is around 6 hours on my skin and can linger lightly on clothes until the next day. If you’re looking for something different and formal, this is an option you can use without regrets.

If you’re looking for vintage formal without breaking the bank, this is your option.
