Descripción

Black Musk by The Body Shop is a woody musk floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2015, this composition was created by Cecile Matton and Ralf Schwieger. The top notes unfold with pear, pink pepper, and bergamot; the heart reveals licorice, heliotrope, and ylang-ylang; while the base notes settle on black vanilla bean, chocolate, black musk, patchouli, and vetiver.

  • I’ve fallen in love with this The Body Shop perfume; I also adore its sibling, White Musk. The only flaw is the longevity. I find it very winter-appropriate, though it wouldn’t be out of place in other seasons. It was a hit after the disaster I had with Red Musk, where the pepper and tobacco were overwhelming and suffocating. Here, the pepper is very devilish, and what stands out is the licorice with a hint of chocolate. If it lasted longer, it would become one of my favorites. It’s a fine, delicate gourmand, highly recommended.

  • It’s a gourmand scent that leads to addiction: if sweets hurt you, don’t smell it because you’ll be tempted to take a bite of dessert. It opens with vanilla and a base of cardamom and licorice, then settles into a chocolate vibe that lasts up to four hours. It’s soft, and that’s good, because if it were stronger, I’d get nauseous.

It’s one of my signature scents. I already own the oil and I’m dying to try the other format. I searched for it for quite a while before finally buying it. My mom has been wearing White Musk for years, so it holds immense sentimental value for me. It’s hard to explain; normally sweets make me gag and give me a headache, but this is a whole different world. It smells comforting to me, and I can’t even identify the notes. It’s true it doesn’t last as long as others and doesn’t have much of a trail, but for me, that’s its charm. It feels intimate and addictive: I always want to smell it, bringing my wrists to my nose, so I’m sure if people see me they’ll think I’m crazy. Right now, it’s the one I most want to wear, and I think it works all year round. It reminds me more of autumn, but I bought it in summer and it hasn’t let me down in any season.
