  • One of the best musks I’ve ever tried. A classic from The Body Shop and cruelty-free. Lately, I’m noticing an earthy note—I’m not sure if it’s vetiver, but I like it. It has great longevity, a nice sillage, and makes me feel comfortable.

  • The current White Musk doesn’t even remotely smell like what I bought 25 years ago; they must have reformulated it, which is a shame. It no longer leaves that all-day trail it used to have. Just two sprays on my neck used to make you smell good until you showered or did laundry. Now, it’s inferior.

A few weeks ago I thought about White Musk and how a friend always wore it over twenty years ago. Today my partner told me his sister had gifted me a perfume because she gets headaches from her sensitivity and migraines. I was filled with hope. Which one would it be? Then she pulled out a small bottle of White Musk oil, the round one in the photo. It never caught my eye, but I decided to try it. I put one drop on my neck and wrists and realized: I can’t stand it, it gives me nausea. I waited, tried to remove it to see if less quantity (though it was only one drop) would let it settle, but it didn’t. It became more bearable because it was less perceptible, not because it improved. What anguish. How is this possible? I didn’t remember it like this with my friend; when she wore it, it was soft and long-lasting, not my style but it didn’t provoke this in me. Now it smells like when you enter a patio where cleaning has gone too far, dumping perfumed floor cleaners in a bucket. When this happens, I try not to breathe until I reach the elevator because it bothers me. So strong and aggressive it seemed. Could I be sensitive like my sister-in-law? Of course I returned the bottle so they can gift it or throw it away if they want.

A few weeks ago, I thought about the White Musk a friend has been wearing for over twenty years. Today, my partner told me his sister gave me a perfume because it gives her headaches due to sensitivity and migraines. I was filled with hope. What could it be? Then he pulled out a small bottle of White Musk oil, the round one in the photo. I never paid much attention to it, but I decided to try it. I put a drop on my neck and wrists and realized: I can’t stand it; it gives me nausea. I waited a bit, tried to remove some to see if a smaller amount would help, but it didn’t. It only became more bearable because it was less perceptible, not because it evolved. What anguish. How is this possible? I didn’t even remember it smelling like this; my friend said it was softer for her, though it lasted longer. It wasn’t my style back then, but it didn’t provoke this reaction. Now it smells like when a cleaning company leaves too much floor cleaner in the bucket. When this happens, I try not to breathe until I get to the elevator because it bothers me. It seemed so strong and aggressive. Could I be sensitive like my sister-in-law? Of course, I sent the bottle back so they can gift it away or throw it out.

  • I got my first bottle of White Musk when the brand was unknown, about 27 years ago. It was plastic, small, white with a black cap and a long applicator, to use its wonderful oil moderately. It was a miracle that smelled amazing, lasted until the shower, and on clothes until laundry; that bottle lasted forever… Then, with the reformulation, they killed the wonderful essence of what it used to be. What a pity, today it’s a want but can’t, it doesn’t even come close to what it was.

  • The best musk. Delicate, not animalistic, though it brings out your animal instincts. It blends with your skin, mixes with your pH, and voila… It’s very cool, simple but standout.

  • I’ve always had the oil version. My relationship with this fragrance is love-hate; I use it and forget it at times. Sometimes it’s sharp, maybe because it’s synthetic. They say men love it because it reminds them of sexual pheromones… Use it moderately, a single drop is more than enough!!!

  • It’s my wardrobe classic. I always have it, and from time to time I buy the gel and the lotion. I love all its versions, from the mist to the oil. My family knows that if they gift me a White Musk set, they’re guaranteed to hit the mark. I have other musks, but this one beats them all except for an essential oil I bought at an apothecary in Muscat.

  • It’s my wardrobe staple. I always have it and occasionally pick up the gel and body milk. I like all its versions: from the mist to the oil. My family knows that if they gift me a White Musk pack, they’re guaranteed to hit the mark. I own other musks, but only one oil I bought at an Arabian perfumerie in Muscat beats this one in essence.

I don’t know what’s in this perfume that I can’t stand. I bought it against my will after reading good reviews, and even sniffed the paper before deciding, thinking I might like it better mixed with others. But once I wore it, I truly couldn’t tolerate it. Probably won’t use it again. What a pity.

I don’t know what’s in this perfume that I can’t stand. I bought it because of the excellent reviews and even smelled it on blotter paper before deciding, thinking maybe mixing it with others would make me like it more. When I put it on, I truly couldn’t tolerate it; I probably will never use it again. What a pity.

Finally went to The Body Shop and tried their scent; I loved it. Its sweetness, soft trail, and longevity wrapped around me, and I soon bought the oil. I really liked it and will use it for chill outings where I need olfactory peace, that’s its essence 💖. Update: another fragrance that has earned me compliments. Yesterday my family and acquaintances wouldn’t stop saying I smelled super good 😄. Highly recommended ✨👍🏻

Finally, I went to try it at The Body Shop and I loved it. Its sweetness, with a soft sillage and good longevity, wrapped around me, and shortly after I bought it as an oil. I really like it for casual outings where I need olfactory peace, which is exactly what this essence gives me 💖. Update: Another fragrance that has earned me compliments. Yesterday, my family and acquaintances wouldn’t stop saying I smelled super good 😄. Highly recommended ✨👍🏻

I love it. As a perfume, maybe it’s not my favorite, but using the lotion and body wash is another world. It gives me that clean base I adore, and on top of that, I can layer other fragrances while keeping that soapy musk touch. It drives me crazy.

  • Can a vegetal scent smell animalic and an animalic scent smell clean? White Musk embodies these paradoxes. To me, it smells like a clean musk, slightly sweet with a touch of animalic notes. It’s calming, soft, and comforting after a shower—perfect for traveling and hiding out in a hotel room after a tough day. It evokes childhood memories, something maternal that wraps around you. Moderate sillage and about 4 hours of longevity on my skin (EDT version) if applied generously. It’s not much longevity, but enough to help me relax before bed. Scent: 6.5/10, Longevity: 4/10, Sillage: 6.5/10, Value: 6/10, Versatility: 5/10, Packaging: 6/10. I’ll probably buy it again.

  • Can a vegetal scent sound animalistic and an animal scent sound clean? White Musk is this paradoxical. To me, it smells like pure musk, sweet with a touch of animal. It calms me; it’s soft and comforting to close out a tough day after a shower. Perfect for travel and gatherings, it creates a bubble of peace in the hotel that helps me disconnect. Reminds me of childhood, that maternal hug that wraps you up. The trail is moderate and lasts about 4 hours (EDT version) if applied well. It’s not eternal but enough to help me relax before bed. Scent 6.5/10, longevity 4/10, trail 6.5/10, value 6/10, versatility 5/10, packaging 6/10. Would I buy it again? Probably yes.

Sweet and tender, no drama. Smells freshly washed, almost like a baby. People notice and compliment it. I just wish the bottle was bigger and the scent lasted a bit longer, I swear that’s all I ask.

  • What did they do to White Musk?! A friend used it three decades ago, and I did too. It lasted forever and projected a lot. I tried the EDT at a store again, and although the sales associate tried her best, I only noticed alcohol at first, barely any scent. She tried to fix it by assuring me it smelled better on the skin and referred me to the oil, which I rejected; I didn’t know it was an old friend of mine. I thought as it dried, some trace would remain, but nothing: if there was any scent, it vanished quickly. I kept the little paper thinking my nose was tired, but hours later, it smelled like nothing at all. White Musk was mortally wounded. This is today’s verdict: paying more for worse products. RIP White Musk, it was a pleasure to know you.

  • I was gifted this essence in both oil and perfume versions, and I’m thrilled; it was a surprise. At first, I thought it faded quickly and wasn’t too convinced, but then people commented that it smelled great or if I’d changed my fabric softener, and they were right: it smells like clean musk with a hint of iris in the background. I use the new version (glass bottle with speckled white cap) since the old one is discontinued and it doesn’t affect me. It’s a fragrance that makes you attractive instantly; I’ve received compliments from men. I use it as a base with other fragrances; it works well on men and women, has no age range, from teenagers to adults. It’s for daily use or as a signature, any season. Although they say the old one was a bomb, the longevity hasn’t failed me; it lasts half a day. I liked it; it’s a simple but effective essence.

  • They say classics never go out of style, and that’s what happens with musky fragrances. White Musk is a timeless classic, with good sillage, reminding me of clean and tidy places. It brings back childhood memories of my first fragrances. It suits any age, though due to its intensity, I only use it in cold climates because it overwhelms me in the heat.

  • The White Musk from The Body Shop is the scent that has captivated me the most out of almost everything I’ve smelled; it’s an absolute top ⬆️⬆️⬆️. I never knew how to describe ‘musk’ because it smells similar in all of them but different at the same time; since I was little, I’ve categorized it as a ‘blackberry’ scent 🍇 (maybe experts would call it nonsense xD), and this is the best at that 👌.

  • Love at first sight for me. Smells clean with a sweet floral touch. Although it leans feminine, in the right dose it’s unisex. It has been reformulated and diluted, but fortunately, the White Musk from Aire de Sevilla is the clone that’s closest in longevity and scent. I’ve tried several musks.

  • Monty Phyton

Pure animalic musk with a slight woody halo. Iconic, long-lasting, attractive, and clean. I let the bottle macerate for two years, and it gained in sillage and longevity; it hasn’t turned brown, still the same. Same with the Body Mist. Both recommended, there’s nothing else like it. 9.5/10.🔥

  • Retrofuturist

Super clean and pleasant aroma; I’ve gotten so many compliments. Both the body mist and eau de parfum have excellent longevity and projection. It’s fresh yet warm, which is why it’s my favorite fragrance for before bed.

  • I love musk essences and thought this wouldn’t be the exception. I liked it, but it doesn’t quite convince me; it smells strong and a bit more masculine, perhaps due to the animalic notes. It has good sillage and longevity, but I’ll stick with Alyssa Ashley’s Musk and Avon’s Soft Musk.

  • I only have it in oil, and as a guy, it’s a beast. Smells super unisex, like shower gel or fabric softener, with that animalic musk mixed with soapy aldehydes. Perfect for any season. Comes with a neck stick, and every movement releases bursts. When there’s stock again, I’ll grab the body mist, though I fear it might lose that soapy touch and become more floral. A total find.
