Descripción
Azzaro Pour Homme L'Eau by Azzaro is an aromatic fougère fragrance for men launched in 2011. Composed by perfumer Olivier Cresp, it opens with vibrant citrus notes of yuzu, Amalfi lemon, and grapefruit. The heart reveals herbal elegance thanks to lavender and geranium, while the base settles on a warm, woody foundation of sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli, and musk.

Honestly, I struggle to distinguish it from its mother, the reformulated Azzaro Pour Homme; it’s identical.
It doesn’t resemble the Azzaro Pour Homme, neither the original nor the reformulated version. It smells of lime, something the previous one lacked, without that ‘toxic’ character of the other. It’s fresher, lacking the sophistication of the other, but still pleasant.
I don’t own the original Azzaro Pour Homme, but I’ve smelled and tested it. The opening of L’eau is very similar or identical, just softer. Then it develops its own style in the heart, feeling fresher and more citrusy. The sillage and longevity don’t compare to the original; it lasts about 6 hours with moderate to soft sillage. I feel it’s designed for men aged 25 to 35: it keeps the aroma and punch of the original without seeming ‘old man.’ Maybe they didn’t quite pull it off, but if you like Azzaro but don’t dare use it due to age, this is your option to get used to it or wear it whenever you want.
I only smelled it on blotter, and the opening excited me with that citrus freshness, thinking it was the ideal for summer with that triple aromatic combination. But that impression lasts about two hours, and then it behaves like the Azzaro Pour Homme: softened lavender, similar to YSL’s Rive Gauche. In the dry down, it’s musk, geranium, and soft sandalwood. It could work as a summery version of the Pour Homme, giving that barbershop lotion vibe.
Sometimes you stumble upon fragrances that aren’t the eighth wonder of the world but still deliver and please. This is one of those cases. While it takes its base from the classic Azzaro, it’s distinct. From the start, the lime and grapefruit with yuzu sound great. Then lavender takes the spotlight—that ambered lavender from its mother, but softened, as if drowned in iodine notes, geranium, woods… I don’t know, the effect is unique. I see it as a fresh, summery version of the classic, modernized but not a softened clone, and for the most part, they nailed it. Good longevity, moderate sillage (stays close to the skin, nothing against over-applying). Pleasant aroma, citrusy, fresh, summery, and, as I’ve noticed, of feminine appeal. I’d give it a 7.8/10. P.S.: With more sillage, I’d rate it higher.
I must admit: I bought it because I couldn’t stop thinking about it since I tested it. It’s the ideal perfume for a man: a toned-down aromatic fougere, brought to summer. Can you imagine the Azzaro Pour Homme, Van Cleef & Arpels, Quorum, with the heavy winter stuff removed and citrus added, but keeping the talc, moss, vetiver, and woody DNA? That’s Azzaro L’eau. A hidden gem. The downside is its performance drops, but given the price, you can reapply mid-morning. Scent: 9.5. Longevity: 6 (5 hours). Projection: 7 (1.5 hours potent). Price: 10. Versatility: 10.
I have to admit, I bought this fragrance because I couldn’t stop thinking about it since I tested it; it’s the ideal perfume for a man, a toned-down aromatic fougère brought alongside summer scents. Can you imagine Azzaro Pour Homme, Van Cleef & Arpels, Quorum, minus the heavy winter exclusivity, with citrus added, but keeping the powdery, mossy, vetiver, and woody DNA? That is Azzaro L’eau. A hidden gem. The downside is that its performance also decreases, but given the price, you can reapply midday. Scent: 9.5. Longevity: 6 (5 hours). Projection: 7 (1 1/2 hours potent). I think it fulfills its duty. It’s perfect for daily use; fresh and versatile.
Fantastic. I loved it. It smells of fresh masculinity. It’s a classic Azzaro Pour Homme as if interpreted by Issey Miyake.

Very good. Fresh, masculine, versatile, and with a classic touch. Longevity of about 6 hours on my skin, projecting for the first two. Ideal for spring and summer. More citrusy and fresh than the parent fragrance from which it inherits its DNA. Good price. I rate it an 8 out of 10. Greetings to all fragrance lovers.
My mother bought it for me when I was 15, and ten years later I bought it back again out of nostalgia for an incredibly fresh and powdery scent. Back then, I wasn’t a huge fan of citrus scents; I also owned a Lacoste Essential, which I wasn’t a fan of either, though some would say it smelled fresh and clean. Now I’m back to them. I’ve considered getting the Lacoste too. Mass-appealing scents, but particularly the Azzaro for its time on the market and its similarities to the original, according to what people say, since I haven’t had the pleasure of smelling the OG. My girlfriend says I smell like her grandfather, yet I won’t stop using it, and when I finish this one, I’ll go for a third bottle. There aren’t many perfumes you can brag about regarding quality-to-price ratio, and this is one of them. Recommended 8/10.
If I had to summarize it in a few words, Azzaro L’EAU is basically the tail end of Azzaro PH diluted with water. Classic, elegant, and fresh. I’ve been wearing this perfume for 7 years and I believe it has aged remarkably well, smelling better with each passing day. Preferably for use in autumn and winter. It wins on the nostalgic side since Azzaro PH was the last gift I received from my grandfather in the late 90s. An old bottle with white lettering and a metal cap, typical of the 80s, with the inscription ‘Loris Azzaro-Paris’ in two lines on the bottle. Azzaro is an institution, one of the most famous men’s perfumes, one that possibly your father or grandfather used.
A tremendous Fougère, Azzaro Pour Homme refreshed. The sharp sweetness of anise mixed with citrus is no longer exactly the same and is less impactful for those around you, though it still carries weight. It doesn’t last long, but the deals before they discontinued it were amazing.
Very masculine, commanding, and fresh; I see it as a modernized fougère, very wearable. I think it suits men over 20, perfect for a quiet day or going to work. It feels much more wearable than the original Pour Homme and lasts 6-7 hours on me without issues.
A solid update of the classic with a citrus twist. A little gem, highly recommended at a normal price.
Azzaro Pour Homme L’eau delivers exactly what its name promises: the classic Azzaro scent, but washed out. It repeats the notes with an extra touch of bergamot, making it fresher. It’s a refreshing update of the original, though that modernization is also its weak point: longevity. Still a great buy for the price. I’m about to buy three bottles right now. Ideal for spring or autumn, perfect as a daily fragrance. I’m a huge fan of classic scents, and Azzaro has managed to stay relevant with men’s perfumes in a ‘unisex’ world. Great buy for the price. Rating: 7/10.
