Descripción

Aventus Cologne by Creed is a fruity aromatic fragrance for men. Launched in 2018, the nose behind this composition is Olivier Creed. The top notes unfold with mandarin, ginger, pink pepper, bergamot, and green mint; the heart reveals vetiver, patchouli, sandalwood, and ozonic notes; while the base notes close the olfactory pyramid with musk, birch, tonka bean, styrax, and cedar.

I bought it blindly due to my obsession and because Aventus is a classic on its own merits. It opens just like its older sibling with fresh mandarin and mint, a spicy touch from pink pepper and ginger instead of blackcurrant. When it dries down, it’s less smoky, but on my skin it lasts only 3 to 4 hours. Although Creed usually plays variations on a theme, this is a watered-down Aventus that adds nothing. There’s no risk or progression; they don’t build anything that justifies the price. Honestly, there are fresher, longer-lasting alternatives with better projection for a fraction of the cost. While taste is subjective and depends on your wallet, the lack of innovation and performance doesn’t justify the expense.

I bought it blindly due to my habit and because I consider Aventus a classic. It smells very similar to the original, adding freshness with mandarin and mint, plus a spicy touch of pink pepper, replacing blackcurrant with ginger. When it dries, the smokiness is subtle, and then it fades to skin-level within three or four hours. Although Creed often makes variations, this is a watered-down Aventus that adds nothing. There’s no innovation or justification for the price. Fresher alternatives exist with better longevity and projection for a fraction of the cost. The lack of innovation and performance doesn’t justify the expense.

  • My girlfriend gifted me Aventus Cologne for my birthday, convinced by the boutique it was an improved version. Total rip-off. There’s nothing worse than spending big on something that doesn’t work. It’s a weak fragrance; after six sprays, no one—not even me—could smell it after an hour. It’s just a diluted Aventus with no personality or strength. The only thing it keeps is its exorbitant price.

I loved it! It doesn’t resemble the classic Aventus much; it has a very pleasant powdery touch. It feels more elegant, fresh, and versatile, something akin to Versace Pour Homme. A truly exquisite fragrance!

I stumbled upon this by chance, my first Creed. After reading hundreds of Aventus reviews, I had high hopes. In my opinion, this Cologne is more appealing due to its citrus notes. Upon application, a prominent, natural mandarin blends with spicy ginger, creating an orange scent. After five minutes, the classic Aventus DNA with birch and musk emerges, but here the pineapple is replaced by mandarin. It stays linear but turns soapy at the end. Projection is soft initially with nine hours of longevity very close to the skin, though it lasts longer on clothes. What surprised me most is that it lacks the quality and naturalness Creed claims; it feels comparable to Zara Vibrant Leather, with an extraordinary resemblance and less alcohol blast. It’s not groundbreaking either; the mandarin is the same as in D&G Light Blue; it could be a blend of Versace Pour Home and Zara. It smells good, but test it before buying—don’t fall for the hype, as there are options that surpass it. Opinion based on batch: C9719N01.

I happened to get this, my first Creed. After reading hundreds of reviews about Aventus, I had high hopes. To my taste, this cologne is more appealing because it’s citrusy. This is a fresher take on the original Aventus, though opinions vary. The Cologne is made for the uninitiated nose; you’ll like it at first, but then you’ll see the original is more interesting. Both are excellent and pricey; don’t listen to anyone saying one is bad—both are good! Longevity is similar to the original. Smells like a mix of Aventus, Chanel Allure Sport, and Tom Ford Grey Vetiver. It’s more conventional, as expected.

  • I’m sticking with this version of Aventus today: it’s a variation of the original, but it works better on my skin. It has great longevity and performance, though the sillage isn’t exaggerated. It’s a more citrusy Aventus with all the DNA of the mother fragrance. Great perfume; I recommend it even over its older sibling.

  • I’m sticking with this version of Aventus today. It’s a variation, but it works better on my skin. It has great longevity and moderate sillage. It’s a more citrusy Aventus but keeps all the original DNA. It’s a fantastic fragrance, and I’d even recommend it over the original.

  • Subrayador Verde

Interestingly, Aventus Cologne performed much better than the original for me. Even though it’s labeled as a Cologne, it’s actually an EDP, which confuses a lot of people. It smells fantastic at first—more citrusy and dry—but later it becomes generic and loses its strength. For what it is, if you have the budget, it’s fine, though it’s pricey and less consistent than its older sibling.

  • Okay, this fragrance is rich and a lovely smell, I won’t deny it. But I can’t help but associate it with talcum powder; throughout the time, it smelled like talc to me. It smells rich and is easy to use, but I think it’s a scent that’s too simple for the price it has.

  • With Hacivat, the regular Aventus already seems redundant and even inferior to me. The Aventus cologne is much fresher and more versatile, with a delicious aroma and good projection. It’s worth it despite being expensive.

  • It has one of the best openings I’ve tried: like a slightly woody sweet orange. Then the woody notes take the spotlight without being heavy. The composition isn’t complex, but it has a quality that makes it almost perfect for me. Moderate performance for its high price.

I’ve never been an admirer of Aventus, but this is top-tier. The Cologne only partially revisits the original theme, removing blackcurrant, pineapple, and apple, resulting in a much fresher scent thanks to mandarin, ginger, and pink pepper. The heart is woodier than the original. Overall, it’s a fruitier and spicier variation, spicy and fruity. At first, it reminds you a lot of the progenitor, but in a very clean way, with a notable trail that people smell at 2 meters within the first hour. However, it quickly recedes to a comfortable, soft, silky, and soapy level, incredibly beautiful and transparent. There is similarity to the original, but the differences are large enough to not call it ‘Aventus light,’ especially due to the slightly sweet vanilla bean base that sometimes wins over the smoky notes. The versatility convinces me; it’s more wearable in high temperatures than the original. Longevity on my skin is about 6 hours. I think Creed is risking the jump from classic to young, modern, and urban. Let’s hope we can find a bottle at a decent price.

  • CREED AVENTUS COLOGNE: What an exquisite thing. The most elegant lemon citrus in the world. It has the base of the father but very subtle and lasts over 8 to 10 hours. A work of art.

  • Fresh, long-lasting, and superior quality. It conveys joy and elegance. The pineapple isn’t listed on Fragrantica but is on the Creed website; it’s very noticeable in the opening. The tandem with mandarin and spices is a party. The base notes suggest a sweet dry-down, but it maintains its freshness all the time. On my skin, it lasts up to 8 hours and on a shirt until the wash. A marvel.

  • donalvinicio15

Simply beautiful, masculine, and timeless. From the first spray to the dry-down, it’s gorgeous. I’m not an expert, so I won’t guess the notes, but it’s fruity, woody, citrusy, and spicy. The longer it wears, the more woody it becomes. I detect a slight floral note in the background, nothing feminine, that makes it more seductive. Longevity is durable: up to 9 hours. Projection is moderate for the first 2-4 hours, then becomes an intimate scent. If I stay still and then move, I leave a pleasant trail even after 6-9 hours. Personally, I prefer the Cologne over the Absolu. I tried the Absolu first, but I ended up choosing the Cologne.

  • Victortor

I like it more than Aventus Primary. It’s a bomb of musk and woods with the ‘Aventus’ touch, featuring subtle citrus and fruity notes. I’m a fan of the musk/wood combo; it conveys elegance and cleanliness. I accept that, even though I like it, the price and performance make me prefer other bottles on the market. You can feel the quality: a very pleasant mandarin opening that defines the pillars. As it dries down, spices and something sweet appear. It’s a relaxing scent, without harshness, clean, soapy yet neutral, very elegant. Ideal for sunny days, formal occasions, or the office. Is it worth the cost? For some, yes, but for me, the official price is disproportionate. It performs little on my skin and isn’t surprising. Still, I like it more than the original.

  • Wilson Manolito

Splendid perfume, definitely a 10/10. It’s fresh, fruity, very masculine, and has good longevity. I love it more than the regular Aventus; it’s elegant and versatile. A great success despite its high price.

  • Fresh masculine scent that, in my opinion, outperforms the original Aventus. However, the price doesn’t justify it; there are fresher and equally quality options for less. The longevity is decent but requires reapplication throughout the day. Also, it no longer comes with the metal cap, but a cheap plastic one—a detail that disappointed me. I bought it on the official website. My advice: look at other options and don’t pay just for the brand.

  • It’s a masculine scent, fresh, and smells better than the original. I don’t think it’s worth the price since it’s pricey and there are equally fresh options of the same quality for less. The longevity is decent but falls short; you have to reapply during the day. Also, it no longer comes with a metal cap but a cheap plastic one, a detail I really didn’t like. I bought it on the official website. My advice is to look at other options and don’t pay for the brand and the fame.

  • Very rich in notes, but for me, the cost-to-benefit ratio isn’t great. I tested it on my arm, and after 2 hours, I could only smell it if I brought my nose close. Given its price, I wouldn’t buy it considering what I’ve mentioned.

  • Amazing scent, one of the best fresh citrus fragrances for summer. The downside: price vs. performance. It lasts barely 4 hours, and by the third hour, it’s skin scent only. The opening is fantastic, but for the price, it’s not worth it; I’d rather get a dupe with a similar aroma. Even if it doesn’t last long, it hurts less to reapply.

  • Jose Luis Tov

It was a gift from my dad, a very pleasant surprise. I imagine it’s from the new batches with the silver cap and better quality than the plastic ones. There’s nothing wrong with it, and since it was a gift, everyone’s reaction to seeing the detail was incredible. The first spray had my brother and uncles saying it was delicious—a proper flanker that at an intermediate level smells very much like Aventus, but with a more pronounced and fresh citrus note. Honestly, I loved it. I wore it happily, and it lasted over 10 hours; I could even smell it after the whole day at the gym and when I got to work. It’s very expensive, so those who can afford it are lucky, and it truly is a joy to wear. Beautiful bottle and cap, gorgeous scent, all in all you can’t ask for more, just wish it didn’t cost so much.

After testing 2mL over 6 uses: a gorgeous perfume with super clean, refreshing mandarin, well-balanced body, and some fantastic notes from the original Aventus. Its only drawback is that it doesn’t feel groundbreaking. Ideal for summer vacation dinners or hot days; if you want to smell elegant, use it. I wore it after windsurfing, a shower, and straight to dinner. Decent longevity—you’ll catch it for at least 6 hours; starts with moderate projection, then stays close to the skin. Would I recommend it? Depends on what you’re looking for and the occasion. The price is what it is at €180 for 50mL, so think about whether it’s worth it for you.

  • Americanista7$

A perfumery delight, reminiscent of normal Aventus but with its own charm. I prefer this one because it’s more citrusy and less woody, without the smoky edge of its sibling. Rich aroma, perfect for daytime or late afternoon, not so much for evening. Works well from casual to semi-formal. Good longevity on skin at 7-8 hours; projects moderately to 2 meters for the first 3 hours before settling to a skin scent, but always leaves nice sillage when you move.

  • Fragranticman

Fabulous scent, but not worth the price. Listen, young people: class and elegance don’t come from cologne, but from a sober and intelligent attitude. We all do silly things sometimes, but we should do them with people who love us. If we’re rude and flashy, even with the most expensive stuff, we’ll never be elegant. If we’re cautious and respectful, we will be. This cologne is exquisite, but it doesn’t deserve its price tag; I’d prefer three or four designers or twenty Arab fragrances. I’ve spent €6,000 in four years and lost count; it’s an addiction like drug use. It anguishes me to shop; I like everything but I’m stuck in a void chasing the next one-day satisfaction. This week I spent €700. I earn a lot, I’m a lawyer working Monday through Sunday, but today I saw a family who couldn’t afford ice cream for their kids, and it broke my heart. I offered to pay, but it was an illusion—their happiness would last minutes before precarity returned. I come from the bottom, working since I was nine as a ball boy, but now that I’m solvent, I feel empty. I don’t need to spend; I need to help. I want to be a good person. I’ve never been bad, but I want to be better. It’s strange, it’s not depression, I just want to help. A hug, friends. Be good people; there’s nothing sexier or more elegant than that.

  • Fragranticman

Fantastic scent, but honestly not worth the price tag. Listen up, young folks: don’t fall for the trap of throwing money away. Class and elegance don’t come from a cologne; they stem from a sober, intelligent, and composed attitude. Everyone indulges in silly things now and then, like getting drunk, but you should only do it with people who love and care for you. Fragrances don’t define anything; our behavior and actions do. If we’re rude and flashy, even with the most expensive scents, we’ll never be elegant. But if we’re cautious, respectful, and cordial without being extravagant, that’s when we shine. This cologne is exquisite, but it’s overpriced; I’d rather get 3-4 good designer ones or 20 Arabic fragrances for the same cost. I’ve spent about 6,000 euros in four years, I lost count, and I don’t even have them all listed. I used to wear one or two scents all year, like Acqua di Gio Profumo. Once they discontinued it, I started buying six or eight a month, sometimes six a week. Designer and many Arabic scents led me to conclude it’s an endless vice, an addiction like drug abuse. I don’t want to keep buying. It’s tormenting me; I love them all, but they leave me in a void, chasing satisfaction that lasts a day before the need to try something new hits again. This week I spent 700 euros. I can afford it, I owe nothing, I’m a lawyer working Monday through Sunday. But today I saw a family who couldn’t afford to buy their kids a slightly pricier ice cream, and it broke my heart. I offered to pay for it just to see them happy, but it was an illusion; those kids would be happy for a few minutes, then the hardship would return. Look, I come from the bottom; I worked from age nine as a ball boy at a tennis club, always working one of the two vacation months during my childhood. Now that I’m financially stable, I feel a deep void. I don’t need to spend; I need to help. I want to be a good person. I’ve never been evil, but I want to be a better human being. It’s strange, hard to explain. It’s not depression; I know I don’t want to die or be a burden, I just want to help, to let them know there are tough guys out there who are good and willing to help simply because they’re alive. A hug, friends. Be good people above all else; there’s nothing sexier or more elegant than being a good human being.

  • Aventus Cologne is straightforward: it’s the original turned down to avoid being intrusive, cleaner, more citrusy, and elegant, speaking clearly without shouting. It’s neat, sober, and perfect for outside of parties. I’m already repurchasing it even after abandoning the original. It perfects the original with more citrus, less smoke, and cleaner musk. It draws attention through beauty, not noise, noticeable at a distance like a background melody. It generates more compliments than its older sister. Excellent performance all year; I wore it today at 6°C and it worked wonderfully. In summer, it will be a showstopper. 10/10.

  • Diego Bronson

Aventus Light is sparkier, livelier, and fresher, which is why it’s so light and fleeting. It should cost less and would be a smash hit.

  • SebastianC2702

Don’t buy it; it lasts a mere breath. If you’re looking for something similar, go for Eros Energy—it lasts almost as long and smells just as good when dry. If you want an Aventus, better stick with the classic or Absolu; the classic is the most charming.
