Descripción
Armani Privé Bleu Turquoise by Giorgio Armani is a spicy oriental fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2018, this composition was created by perfumer Aurélien Guichard. The top notes reveal sea salt, incense, and black pepper; the heart unfolds with ylang-ylang, cyperus (nagarmota), and Indian jasmine; while the base notes complete the structure with vanilla, sandalwood, and moss.

My first impressions: it’s a unisex scent that feels more feminine than masculine. The dry-down is a bit more gourmand. It’s a three-dimensional fragrance, yes, but it fascinates my girlfriend.
What a beautiful scent. It’s marine, like a breeze accompanying a sailboat ride, soft and pleasant. It opens with salty notes, in the style of Acqua di Sale but more woody, in my opinion much more friendly and without that “stormy” touch. The salty accord settles on a white wood, and a soft, delicate vanilla is gradually added, concluding with a perfect dry-down of salt, vanilla, and white wood. To all of that, a creamy touch like sunscreen, I think it’s ylang ylang. Bleu Turquoise is staying in my collection; I’d dare to say it’s the marine scent I’ve liked the most so far. To evoke a calm beach day, silence, and keep the memory of those salty coves of Nerja and the waves shouting in the breeze. It’s not a beast mode or of eternal duration; you can tell it’s in a one-meter bubble with an acceptable duration, within the average, about 7-8 hours.
It’s a perfume that always behaves the same, regardless of the temperature. The opening is immediate, salty, and metallic, reminding me of the launch of another marine scent: Squid by Zoologist. However, this doesn’t last more than 10 minutes (a bit longer in the cold) before the differences start to show. BT is pepper and a very edible salty vanilla, while the incense is soft, giving it a nocturnal vibe. Over time, it mutates into something more carnal that I can’t quite identify, but it recalls sun-warmed skin, Danish butter cookies, and Jo Malone’s Myrrh & Tonka, without being exactly either. Its projection is nuclear (the second time I sprayed 4 times and could even taste it) for about 4 hours, but it’s noticeable and withstands rain until the next morning. Curiously, I’ve tested it twice at rock concerts (thanks to @Ziggy for the decant), and my friends thought it fit perfectly. I found it a peculiar, unisex scent, ideal for spring nights hanging out with friends at outdoor spots with a relaxed glamour. It has mystery, and although I wouldn’t buy it, it’s great for giving off a distant air. Recommended to test before buying: it’s risky given the price. Pleasant: 7/10, Interesting: 9/10, Versatile: 3/10, Original: 10/10.
TikTok: Parfumloverisback. The other day I tried this from Armani’s private line, and it went straight onto my wishlist. It’s fresh, salty, and woody, but then… incense? Fresh incense! I couldn’t believe it. I need to test it more before giving my full thoughts, but as a first impression: although it’s quite flat throughout its development, you can tell the quality, and above all, that fresh incense note that has me hooked. If I get to try it again soon, I’ll expand on the review. Until then, very good first impression.
Remember how scents trigger memories? This one did exactly that for me. I’m about to get a bit sentimental, but I had to say it because I’m sure I’m not alone. I managed to grab a 3ml sample, and given the potency and longevity of this beast, it’s more than enough. I hadn’t seen it in months, and just now I found out they’re discontinuing it… who knows if it’ll ever come back. The first thing I felt upon spraying was an intense cold; I wore it on a heatwave day at 35°C, and it lasted 8-9 hours on my skin. Impressive. It doesn’t have a spectacular evolution, but if I’m brave enough to say, the notes come out well differentiated: incense, salt, and pepper. Then, that vanilla base softens it all and transports me to the freezing mornings of my city’s harsh winter, even inside the house, reminding me of running to school to avoid freezing on the street, with that typical humidity and fog near the river. Maybe it’s not for everyone, but if you’re like me and you love incense and salt, it’s a hit. An olfactory experience that will be stored in memory thanks to the ridiculous price of that bottle.
