Aqua Allegoria Coconut Fizz by Guerlain

Hyper-realistic coconut, nothing synthetic; smells like freshly cut coconut, the richest of all. Lasts well on skin and even longer on clothes. I love it, already have my fourth bottle.

Didn’t convince me. The coconut scent is appealing but it’s not achieved here; it’s more aquatic, with bergamota coming out first and coconut staying in the background. Starts weird and sweet, but not loud. The trail is moderate to subtle, skin-close. Longevity is medium (4-6h). It’s fresh, light, and aquatic, but the sweet opening makes it feel feminine; after three hours it shifts to unisex with a trail of bergamot, sandalwood, and marine notes. Performance is like a body mist, which is fine, but the scent left me wanting. 6/10 scent, 6/10 trail, 8/10 longevity.

I only smelled it in the perfumery and the sweet coconut felt distant, nothing fresh. I didn’t dare try it on skin, but I see from reviews that it changes quite a bit.

It turned out similar to what I read: I wanted to try it because I love coconut and had high expectations. Unfortunately, I never smelled any coconut; it just seemed aquatic, light, but with some strange notes. My advice: don’t buy it blindly just because of the coconut and freesia notes. Test it on your skin, let it develop, and then decide if you like it.

I bought it blindly as a coconut lover. Upon trying it, I barely felt the coconut; bergamot and the aquatic note dominate, which smells like cucumber on me. If it weren’t so light, I’d be head over heels. I don’t perceive any sweetness, coconut, or flowers. For now, it’s too expensive for what it is: soft, just for stepping out of the shower like a cologne. I see it as unisex due to the bergamot. For me, it’s a NO for now. It’s fresh, green, and unisex, but for that I use Monotheme’s Bergamotto, which costs six times less.

Oh, my review got cut off, haha. Here’s the rest: I bought the Granita Pear from the line and it came with a sample. The opening is powerful and the notes are overwhelming; the first five seconds were ‘oh no’, but then it becomes exquisitely balanced. I prefer this to the opposite. It’s common for perfumes to be wonders at the start and then disappoint. I feel it’s ideal for summer, perfect for an adventurous, extroverted, and charismatic woman. The coconut is achieved and balanced with a floral touch that makes it the star. I sense a tiny avianilla note, nothing cloying. This sets it apart from being a childish body mist. I used it an hour ago and I feel less and less of it, so I’d buy the large version (125ml) to carry decants and touch up.

I was pleasantly surprised! I expected a sunscreen scent, but it wasn’t that. It might have a certain beach sand vibe, but it’s interesting. The opening is juicy, coconut water, sweet but acidic, very similar to real coconut. The alcohol dries down and a toasted coconut appears. It’s not the sweet Brazilian coconut known, but rather the style of toasting unsweetened coconut flakes. It’s a curious sweet and fresh mix, both on the palate and as a perfume. Gradually, woody notes appear, but always bathed in coconut. After 10 hours, it smells more floral. Impressive longevity! We’re already buying it with a friend (along with Ginger Piccante). A perfumer friend said she likes it less because it’s more aquatic than creamy; I think she’s right.

Delicious, it smells like natural summer coconut. The opening is refreshing and bubbly, with good sillage, unlike many coconut fragrances. It smells super natural, highly recommended, and unisex. The only downside is the longevity: it fades after 35 minutes and on dry skin it only lasts half a day. As in the previous comment, you have to test it on your skin; it’s not a blind buy because it changes based on pH and longevity. Scent 8 Longevity 5 Sillage 6.
