  1. Start by saying the labeling is terrible because none of this smells like a women’s perfume, yet the website claims it is. Most Mancera and niche scents are unisex; everyone chooses what they like. Beyond personal taste (even if ‘violet’ is in the name), this isn’t floral or powdery; there are no ionones, which I love. It’s a violet leaf scent with its classic bitter freshness, far from the gasoline tone of Fahrenheit but in the same vein as Givenchy’s Only the Gentlemen and on the same wavelength as Chanel’s Egoiste Platinum. Aoud Violet has a fresh opening where the leaves shine with their usual bitterness, reinforced by oakmoss, vetiver, and green notes that sweeten as they evolve; part of that sweetness comes from the amber base and a very measured patchouli. The declared oud note doesn’t feel animalic, balsamic, or very present; it’s just a subtle woody undertone. There are well-integrated, unobvious spicy notes, perhaps a fresh touch of cinnamon (nothing sweet) that can be appreciated amidst it all. Performance is quite good for its profile—not one of the house’s beasts—but it lasts perfectly 8 hours with notable projection for the first two.

  2. A classic 80s and 90s fougère. Smells like a green forest and occasionally a violet breeze. Very good longevity in the Montale style, over 8 hours. Sillage of 1.5 meters for the first hour and a half, then a personal bubble. Unisex leaning masculine, especially once the violet comes in. Highly underrated.

  3. An 80s and 90s classic fougère. Smells like a green forest with occasional breezes of violets. Lasts more than eight hours, Montale style. A one-and-a-half-meter trail for the first hour and a half, then a personal bubble. Unisex leaning masculine, especially with the violet. Very underrated.

  4. A masculine fragrance with unisex undertones. Projects well and lasts several hours; longevity is above eight hours. Violet with vetiver and patchouli, a bit of oud. The citrus and amber aren’t noticeable. Very versatile, suitable for all year except very hot summers.

  6. A masculine aroma, slightly fougère in the opening to me; as it dries down, it becomes a bit dirty due to the mix of violet, vetiver, and agarwood, yet also soapy. This Mancera lasts all day, at least on my skin, with occasional bursts of projection. I see it as an all-year scent and could easily be a signature fragrance.

  7. This is 100% an office fragrance, in that Prada L’Homme vibe but taking different paths. I like it, but it doesn’t excite me as much.

  8. Hello everyone. This Mancera reference, Aoud Violet, is mislabeled. The title says ‘for women,’ but on their website, the house lists it under men’s fragrances. Although I see it as unisex leaning masculine, they only review it in the men’s section and it doesn’t appear in women’s.

  9. Hello everyone. The reference for this Mancera perfume, Aoud Violet, is incorrect. The title lists it as ‘for women.’ However, the Mancera house website indicates it is a men’s fragrance. It’s one thing for me to consider it unisex leaning masculine personally, but Mancera reviews it exclusively in the men’s fragrance section and it does not appear in the women’s fragrance section.

I don’t see it as unisex at all; I see it as undeniably masculine. I don’t know why it says ‘for women.’ I do like it for a man.

  11. Excellent fragrance. Energizing, optimistic, bright. The opening is very similar to Wind Wood, but the dry down makes the leather note much less evident. One of Mancera’s best. Perfect to wear on a sunny day, on a day when you want to conquer the world.

  13. @Raymond, excellent review. It’s similar to Wind Wood, but with an outstanding interesting green violet and an evident oud that isn’t animalic or medicinal. It’s masculine, elegant, and fresh. If you have Aoud Violet, you don’t need Wind Wood as it would be redundant, and vice versa. If you don’t have either and like violet without feeling like Fahrenheit, go straight for Aoud Violet. This is a totally underrated fragrance.

  14. Excellent fragrance, markedly masculine. Very similar to Mancera Wind Wood in the opening (identical to the nose), but then Aoud Violet develops more elegantly in my opinion, less linear, thanks to a present fresh, green violet note, like violet leaves, all in a very pleasant and natural combination, 0% sweet. Ideal for the office, semi-formal with a white shirt. In my experience, it’s a fragrance that accompanies you all day in spring weather at 24 degrees and fades to skin level but remains present. I can perceive it in soft bursts throughout the day with 5 sprays on skin; it feels very natural, the oils, nothing artificial. It puts me in a good mood every time I smell it during the day… there are few fragrances that cause this effect… Terre d’Hermes is the other. I will definitely buy it again when it runs out; it will be a permanent part of my collection.

  15. Top fragrance, very masculine. The opening is identical to Mancera Wind Wood, but then Oaud Violet evolves into something more elegant and less linear thanks to that fresh, green violet note, like leaves. Nothing sweet, very natural. Ideal for the office with a white shirt. With 5 sprays in 24-degree weather, it lasts all day close to the skin but noticeable in soft bursts. It puts me in a good mood every time I smell it, like Terre d’Hermès. Will be a permanent addition to my collection.
