Descripción
Adolfo Domínguez's Agua Fresca Lima Tonka is a woody aquatic fragrance for men. Launched in 2023, this composition was created by perfumer Ramon Monegal. Its opening bursts with freshness from lime (green lemon) and marine notes; the heart reveals the softness of tonka bean, while the base settles on sandalwood and musk.

Exquisite scent but lasts less than a body splash, I won’t buy it again since it’s not cheap; for autumn and spring it works very well, with excessive heat I don’t feel it’s appropriate; it gains a bronzer-type scent in the style of Le Beau.
Hello, greetings from Mexico, I’m just integrating myself into the world of good fragrances, niches, and other perfumes, well I’m starting with my first review: Lima Tonka is a morning fragrance, fresh, for spring-summer, maybe for a mild afternoon it would be good, the combination of the citrus with the sweetness of the Tonka Bean makes it delicious, the sandalwood gives it a bit more sweetness but still tolerable, I don’t perceive the marine notes too much, maybe a little in the dry down. It reminds me slightly of Tom Ford’s Solei Blanc and a little less of Davidoff’s Cool Water. Conclusion: Excellent if you’re looking for a harmonious, casual scent and you live in semi-warm or temperate climates. For the accessible price, it smells much better than the average. Usage: Morning and afternoon. Scent: 9/10. Trail: 7/10. Longevity: 8/10. Gender: 75% Masculine.
Smells good, like lemon caramel; the tonka provides sweetness to the lemon’s acidity and the musk gives that powdery effect… but the longevity is bad, in an hour you have to over-apply and for the price… I prefer Natura Humor Paz, which is from the same line, cheaper and better performance.
Of the Adolfo scents I own, the one with the best longevity is Vetiver, nonetheless this Lima Tonka pleasantly surprised me. Very striking, citrusy yet sweet at the same time, summery, with a touch, let’s say sensual, that women find attractive. Another perfume in my collection that I categorize absolutely as unisex. A lady smelling AD Lima Tonka would undoubtedly look very good.
It’s an exquisite scent with a very well-executed lime smell. It’s a rich perfume with great quality, but I would have liked it to have greater longevity. The trail is good but… the longevity isn’t so much 🤨 Still, it’s a treasure 💯 X 💯 recommended 🕉️🕉️🕉️
(It can be different on other people’s skin) The opening is 90% fresh green lime and 10% tonka; after 15 minutes or less, the lime disappears completely and leaves a exquisite mix of tonka and musk, and so until the end of the fragrance, super basic but not generic, quite natural notes. Based on the opening it appears to be a summer perfume but, unless it’s extremely cold, I see it for literally any weather, it’s a 9/10 in terms of quality-price ratio.
Long-lasting. It’s not pleasant in aroma like Citrus Cedro, but it’s persistent without being intrusive. By far, the best-performing low-cost option I have. I use it for casual outings in summer, with lots of heat, and it really doesn’t fail (also as a perfume for physical activity). I wouldn’t use it with formal attire.
It’s a creamy lemon, they say it’s for hot weather but it didn’t feel like that to me; I found it better for autumn or winter in my case, good trail and longevity.
If you dreamed of the pure essence of tropical luxury with the tenacity of a sandcastle, this is your dashing gentleman. Imagine spilling scents that scream ‘king of the beach,’ but before you say ‘SPF 50,’ your lime and tonka aura evaporates like ice cream in the sun. It’s an olfactory journey to beachy summers, notes that make you drool thinking of a mojito loaded under a palm umbrella. The twist: this scent plays hide-and-seek, and believe me, it’s very good at hiding. Rating: a sweet-and-sour 5/10. Rich, yes, but with a persistence that leaves you wondering if spraying coconut water and sprinkling tonka beans wouldn’t be better. An experience that will make you crave endless sunscreen days, because at least that scent stuck around until the shower.
I sprayed it on blotting paper, let the alcohol evaporate, and gave it the first sniff… A citrus burst, lemon/lime with sugar, flooded my nose, an incredible opening worthy of summer. It reminded me a lot of Creed’s Virgin Island Water, flooding me with a smile thinking I finally found a dupe at a good price. When I sprayed it on my skin, that fresh mojito scent came back. At 20-30 minutes, I noticed the resemblance to VIW decreased and it started to feel more like Tom Ford’s Solei Blanc. Although I like Solei Blanc, the VIW scent is unique. In the heart and dry down, there’s the sweet tonka bean scent and a subtle citrus; if I put it in numbers, the lime scent is at 20%. I get a coconut scent, white flowers (maybe jasmine), an aquatic note that makes me feel on the beach with sunscreen. When I got home, I sprayed a decant of VIW and I must say Lima-Tonka only resembles it in the opening. VIW in the dry down stays with a lime-and-sugar scent, with the citrus making up 70% of the composition. It’s an excellent summer fragrance, don’t be fooled by the opening because it evolves something similar to Solei Blanc from TM. I would definitely buy it to have a Solei Blanc dupe. As for longevity, a bit short, about 3-4 hours (with 2 sprays on skin).
A sweet citrus that literally smells like the beach. The first time I used it, it reminded me of sunscreens you smell at the beach on vacation. Duration isn’t bad; the truth is it projects little: you’ll only notice it if someone gets close.
Very delicious, but it lasts so little that you have to reapply or it disappears.
One of my favorite fragrances. Smells like a dessert, like key lime pie or lemon pie. I like wearing it on my wrist and smelling it throughout the day. It’s more for spring/summer, but I also use it in autumn because I love eating lemon pie all year. Lasts quite a bit on skin, about six hours, though it doesn’t project much. You just need to reapply a few sprays every three hours.
Adolfo Dominguez offers a quality lime with beachy marine notes that blend well with a soft, tempting tonka bean under the heat. It finishes with a light, creamy sandalwood with a musky touch, closing this cheerful summer composition. It’s not groundbreaking; it reminds me a bit of Hugo Boss Bottled, but between the two options and considering the price-to-quality ratio of summer perfumes, I stick with this Lima Tonka Agua Fresca. It’s versatile for any situation, ideal for spring and summer. Projects for an hour before settling close to the skin. Duration depends on skin and heat, but generally lasts between 5 and 6 hours (with about 6-7 sprays). Almost the entire Agua Fresca line has that duration and projection, though Citrus Cedro and Bergamota Ambar fall short and are more linear. As always, test on skin before buying.
Scent exactly as the name says: lime-tonka. Opens with good lime that fades in minutes, leaving just the tonka bean and musk, something creamy. Personally, I didn’t like it much; it reminds me of lady’s talcum powder or a makeup box. In tropical climates, I think it’s only a good option for autumn.
First impression is lime, but sweeter than citrus. Soft opening, nothing invasive or sharp. Minutes later, it evolves into a warm lime that pairs with a deep base of tonka bean, woods, and musk, without losing its warmth. For this, I recommend it for hot days or cool days without intense exercise, because on my skin it can get cloying if you’re looking for something aquatic. Lasts between 4 and 6 hours. Projection isn’t outstanding but it doesn’t disappoint. For the price, it delivers, though I don’t see it as unique. The positive is the lime-heart combination; some will love it, others might find it cloying. If it could maintain that initial freshness or be blended differently, it would be another story.
I love the scent, too bad it doesn’t last long on my skin. If I apply it well, it reaches about 4 hours, and if it lasted and projected more, I’d pay double. The smell is great and it definitely doesn’t smell like cheap perfume.
The top notes are a delight with an incredible price-to-quality ratio. It’s unisex, but it feels a bit heavier if a man wears it.
Opens like a fizzy Sprite, then releases sweet tonka bean and sandalwood. It’s spectacular—it kicks in when you start walking and when it’s hot. I highly recommend it; it’s unique and sexy. I love when my husband wears it, and I even confess I’ve worn it in summer and it works great on my skin. Beautiful bottle, amazing scent, good trail. We have a refill and would buy it again.
Great summer option: it feels super refreshing like lime at first, then leaves a sweet lingering note. Lasts about two hours before settling close to the skin. For the price, it’s perfect for daily wear.
This one has unremarkable longevity or projection, and at first, I regretted the purchase because it smells a lot of freshly cut lime. To be clear, I don’t like lime, but as the fragrance develops, you can appreciate it as a simple, synthetic lemon pie with a base of Marie biscuit pie, which seems very comforting and intimate. I really enjoy wearing a good amount of this fragrance at home, after a shower, when waking up, or on very hot days when I plan to stay inside.
The perfume is spectacular; as described, it’s a fresh water that works perfectly for sunny days and even better when there’s wind, as it activates perfectly with the breeze, leaving a strong, sweet-citrus trail where the quality of the lime really shines. The dry down could be better, but for the price, it’s more than enough. The best situations to use it are in open areas during the day, as it gives you a certain energy boost.
A totally exquisite and rich tropical aroma, but unfortunately, it doesn’t hold up or evolve well in the final dry down, and its longevity and projection are poor… Waiting for them to release a more potent version.
A very rich and seductive perfume, ideal for spring/summer nights, not so much for extreme heat because it’s a bit sweet. Recommended for young people; I suppose 15 to 35 is the sweet spot. Longevity is 5-6 hours on skin, moderate trail, and moderate projection. As for the price, I’m not sure how much it’s worth; it’s more a matter of personal taste. Compared to the rest of the market (especially Arab perfumes), it loses a bit on performance versus price. It’s expensive in Argentina ($70 for about 120ml). I wouldn’t pay more than $50.
Longevity is 4 to 6 hours on skin and a bit more on clothes with medium projection. €39 for 200ml on druni. Fresh, citrusy, summery scent with a tiny touch of sweetness and some green accords, like pine. Friends, we’re looking at (at least for me) the all-purpose cologne substitute. You shower, slap it on. You go shopping, slap it on. You don’t want anything special but want to wear something, slap it on. And still, I have to fight it out with Citrus Cedro because both are so flexible, although this one is sweeter, it doesn’t fatigue at all in the heat. In short: put away those fresh drops, a new kid has arrived in town.
Just as the name suggests. A pronounced lime accompanied by tonka bean and sandalwood in the base. The marine notes are present, but more to complement a fresh aroma and make the lime even more noticeable. I’d use it in climates where it’s very hot. It lasts about five hours, projecting for an hour and a half at a good distance. The downside is that I consider the price somewhat high; at least here in Uruguay, you can only get it in the 120ml version for $60. Too expensive for what it is.
Lima-Tonka opens with distinct notes of green lime and marine accords, joined by a very slight vanilla scent and a note no one talks about that surprises me: CEDAR. After about half an hour, and lasting until the end around 5 hours later, a very evident cedar note begins to emerge. It’s the same cedar molecule found in Citrus Cedro (which they always use in Adolfo Domínguez). Honestly, this Lima Tonka has left me quite cold, as I expected it to be sweeter and have more personality. So far, it seems quite weak overall. I’ll have to try it more to see if my impressions change.
One of the richest perfumes I’ve ever smelled, deliciously capturing both the citrus and the sweetness. Very pleasant to wear. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long on the skin (I get about 3-4 hours), but it has earned me compliments, and that’s what matters.
Following my philosophy of blind buying because I hate salespeople chasing and harassing me, I bought this blind because it was on a great promo in Argentina, and I fell in love with it. It’s the simplest: opens with lime, then the tonka lingers a bit later, with a woody touch at the end. It’s not a beast; no wild projection or craziness. It’s this simplicity, pleasant and sweet, that I find amazing. Great for going shopping, hitting the supermarket, or a walk. Simplicity is its essence, and I love it. Don’t expect miracles given the price and concentration; 4-5 hours and then reapply.
It’s fresh, noble, subtle, and pleasant… tends to bring serenity and peace… it’s easy to wear and doesn’t impose where you go… it fits perfectly… tends to receive compliments on approaches and greetings… To my surprise, knowing the AD line, it lasts a long time on my skin… and maintains a bubble on skin for up to 8 hours in enclosed spaces, plus it stands up to extreme heat, especially for someone living on the Caribbean coast!!! Overall, it’s 100% recommended… for daily use or after bathing… it relaxes and for the price, it’s a MUST in my collection… 8/10
I have the opposite experience: the scent doesn’t overwhelm me and the longevity is top-notch, but it gets too sweet and becomes suffocating. I see it as unisex and super casual; it even smells like bronzing cream, but it’s so heavy that if you wear it to the beach, you’ll make the person next to you faint. In autumn, it’s insane; I only see it for a summer night out if you’re not going anywhere. It performs well, smells summery, and is pleasant, but at my age, I don’t go out at night anymore, so I hardly use it. Another Adolfo Domínguez that lasts forever is Black Amber, but by the second day, it made me so sick of it that I banished it to a drawer. In short: from AD, the ones that last the longest are the ones I like the least. Lima Tonka is pleasant to a point, but I can’t find an occasion to wear it. I can’t stand Black Amber. El Ganso’s Limonchello Season is an alternative I enjoy more: it’s sweet lemon but more complex and versatile, doesn’t necessarily smell like the beach, and the dry down is exquisite. They aren’t similar, but you get the idea. My take: summery aroma, loads of sweetness, very unisex, and great performance. Cheers.
A caress of water and light that doesn’t seek to impose, but to refresh with refined simplicity. From the start, the lime bursts with its sparkling greenery, translucent and luminous, like a drop of citrus dew on hot stone. The marine accord, clean but without drama, adds a salty sway, like the murmur of waves in the background of an open landscape. There is serene transparency, a freshness that breathes openness without resorting to artifices. The tonka appears as an unexpected but contained twist: it adds a soft warmth, slightly creamy, that tempers the freshness without erasing it. The transition to the dry down is fluid, without surprises. The sandalwood adds a polished, milky texture, while the musk suggests closeness, clean skin, and soft light at the end of the day. The trail is ambered, dry, enveloping without density. A composition that doesn’t aim to amaze, but to accompany with discreet elegance. It’s a balance between the natural and the contemporary, between vibrant freshness and enveloping softness. If it were classical music, it would be a piece by Ludovico Einaudi: fluid, melodic, with accessible but carefully crafted beauty. If it were jazz, it would evoke Magic Malik: introspective, fluid, with a luminous phrasing that breathes nature. What color? Diluted sea green, with reflections of white linen and a golden shadow in the distance.
Smells like Soleil Blanc
It’s fresh and subtle. Very pleasant to wear in the heat. Not very projecting, though I can perceive its scent for hours. In that aspect, I was pleasantly surprised. I sprayed it on my skin and clothes at 5:30 AM. I kept smelling it all morning. At 8 hours, I could still smell it right up against my skin. Curiously, on clothes, it disappeared sooner. 10 hours later, if I press my nose against my skin, I can still smell it… very faintly, but it’s there. The good thing is that it’s a summer fragrance where scents usually don’t last as long, but this one has delivered handsomely. I haven’t had any complaints so far, but it’s true I’ve only used it for work a couple of days. I’ll keep using it during this week of intense heat because it’s worth it.
Simply a delicious fragrance. The blend between citrus and sweet is perfect, especially this sweet part which is creamy, even reminiscent of vanilla, coconut, or almond (no wonder it resembles Soleil Blanc). The only issue is that it doesn’t last long, but if they fixed that problem and put it in a Louis Vuitton bottle, it would easily sell for $300.
My all-time favorite perfume, I’d give anything for it to have more power, but hey… just needs more spray.
Excellent fragrance for sunny days… fresh with a very pleasant sweet touch, easy to wear, with about 5 hours of longevity and a moderate sillage for work, university, casual outings… it delivers… for extreme heat, Citrus Cedro is better.
Smells like a lemon pie. Longevity is decent for the price; if it had better projection, it would be an almost mandatory buy.
Hi, the last time I bought Lima Tonka by Adolfo Domínguez was for about €20 for 120ml online while taking advantage of a sale (it usually costs almost double). This isn’t my first bottle. With this quality-to-price ratio, it seems like an excellent purchase. The scent is very pleasant to wear at night in summer or during the day in spring. On very hot days, like in mid-summer, its sweetness can feel a bit heavy. A combo I use a lot in summer (when I know I’ll be out during the day and it will get dark) is wearing Citrus Cedro from the same brand during the day and carrying a decant of this Lima Tonka to apply at night. Even if there’s a trace of the first one, the layering works fabulously, as they share citrus notes and certain chords since they’re from the same brand and designer, in this case, the great Ramón Monegal. It’s a citrus scent with a sweet, creamy, and slightly sandy tonka bean. It’s not an explosive or cloying sweetness, but rather controlled and soft. On my skin (dry, in my case), it lasts about 4 hours, maybe a bit more. On clothes, approximately 7 hours. Would I recommend it? Yes. It’s one of those fragrances I always like to have in my collection for the versatility it offers and how well it pairs with other perfumes, as I mentioned earlier. Hope this helps. Cheers!
My favorite from the brand so far. It’s not bold; a light citrus with a rich tonka bean base. Longevity and projection aren’t the best, but at this price, there’s no problem with reapplying.
