Descripción
Giorgio Armani's Acqua di Giò Profondo Eau de Toilette is an aromatic aquatic fragrance for men. Launched in 2025, this creation is signed by perfumer Alberto Morillas. Upon opening, the scent unfolds the freshness of lemon, the acidity of lime, and the citrus of grapefruit, accompanied by spices. The heart of the composition reveals the elegance of calone, the softness of lavender, and the freshness of cypress. Finally, the base notes settle on a mineral foundation, woody nuances, and a touch of patchouli.

Is it heavier than the EDP (the regular one)?
I can’t recall many cases in men’s perfumery where a fragrance in ‘Eau de toilette’ concentration launched after the higher concentration formats. Armani Acqua di Giò Profondo exemplifies how a commercial brand is driven by demand, creating a line whose first launch was an Eau de Parfum. Armani and other firms in the group seem oriented to reposition the line following the order: eau de toilette, eau de parfum, perfume, and elixir, without superfluous flaneurs, deciding the EDT version couldn’t be missing in this complex economic scenario, being the cheapest option for the consumer. Acqua di Giò Profondo, as we know it, is the evolution of a classic over twenty years old that proposed a fresh, luminous, and crystal-clear aroma for morning use, updating nuances and dissolving the old citrus/woody accords with a cleaner, more nuclear focus and a more pronounced mineral and fruity facet. This EDT version is the most aquatic of all, with lavender, the mentholated breath of cypress, and the star note of grapefruit bringing it closer to products like Hermès H24, Cool Water Intense, Terre eau givré, or the latest hits of Light Blue and Bvlgari Man. Additionally, it recovers the use of calone. The performance is splendid for an eau de toilette and doesn’t undo the path walked by Giò Profondo, to the relief of its faithful followers. An interesting alternative by master Alberto Morillas to the previously mentioned ones, but at a lower price.
I grabbed this blindly at a great price, thank God. It doesn’t smell like any of the Profumo scents. It has a touch of ADG EDT and a lot of Light Blue Intense by Dolce & Gabbana; it also resembles the Polo Ralph Lauren Big Pony 1 quite a bit. It has that rare Dolce quality where it smells better from a distance 😁. I expected more. Try it on before buying because, in my opinion, it’s not worth it.
Tested in-store, please take these first impressions with a grain of salt‼️. I liked it: the opening is more transparent, citrusy, and fresh than in ADG Profondo EDP, reminding me more of ADG EDT. It’s like it took the best of ADG EDT and ‘stretched’ the opening, with more punch and updated, slightly less herbal, more aquatic and aromatic. The calone isn’t overpowering. Later, it picks up some tones of ADG Profondo EDP but less sweet and mineral. It doesn’t remind me of ADG EDP either, which develops much more herbal notes. It looks like it will last acceptably, in the ADG Profondo EDP line, better than ADG EDT. I could buy it when I finish my ADG EDT. ADG Profondo EDP never really appealed to me; too mineral and sweet, even a bit synthetic. This Profondo EDT feels fresher and airier, with cleaner, brighter citrus notes, as if it has better quality or the lavender and cypress notes give it a neat, youthful, and luminous vibe. I think it will please those who love the original ADG but wanted more punch after the reformulations. It could have been called Acqua di Gio EDT Intense or Super Fresh… It doesn’t discover anything new but smells rich, stimulating, and bright. With more testing, it could return to being that refreshing and conquering Eau de Toilette from the beginning. Obviously, a daytime and light scent. I don’t know if it’s by Morillas, but it takes me straight to his signature. In Spain, they’ve priced it more reasonably, and I’m sure it will drop further. Salu2.
Without a doubt, among the Profondos, this is the one that reminds me most of the original ADG EDT DNA, less salty and mineral than the Profondo EDP. The grapefruit and lime come across as cleaner, brighter citrus notes compared to the sweet tangerine of the EDP. This EDT is less dense than the EDP but projects more: 3 to 3.5 hours with decent projection. After that, on the dry down, it leaves trails of the original DNA on clothes; on skin, it’s noticeable only up close. If you’re a fan of the whole line and you’re between 20 and 30, I don’t think it’s redundant to have both. If you already own the whole line, alternating between them is a great decision for spring and summer. It works: masculine, neat, sexy, relaxed, and elegant. Longevity 8.5/10, Projection 8.5/10.
I bought it blind and, thank God, at a good price. It doesn’t remind me of any other Profondo. It has a touch of ADG EDT and a lot of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Intense, plus it’s quite similar to Polo Ralph Lauren Big Pony 1. It has that rare D&G trait of smelling better from a distance 😁. I expected much more. Try it before buying because, in my opinion, it’s not worth it.
Out of all the Profondo editions, this EDT is the closest to the original AdG DNA, less salty and mineral than the EDP. The grapefruit and lime sound cleaner and brighter, unlike the sweet mandarin in the EDP. It’s less dense but projects more: 3 to 3.5 hours with decent longevity; once it dries down, it leaves traces of the original DNA on clothes, while on skin it’s noticeable only up close. If you love the whole line like I do, owning both isn’t redundant if you’re between 20 and 30. If you already have the perfect spring-summer set, alternating between the two is a great move. It works, that’s just how it is. Masculine, clean, sexy, relaxed, and elegant. Longevity 8.5/10. Projection 8.5/10.
It left me a bit cold, but it has the DNA of the original ADG (which I love) and is much more aquatic. Seems like a mix between ADG EDT and Invictus Aqua 2018. I’ll expand on the review after a month of wear. In short: it’s a deeper, more faithful version to the original ADG EDT than the previous EDP. Still carries that Invictus Aqua vibe. Performance is just right, fitting what we’re used to from this Armani line. Ideal for those who like ADG EDT and want to switch things up without losing the soul.
In the end, the bottle arrived; my girlfriend gifted it to me because I’ve been liking it a lot from my testers. The opening is exquisite, very fresh, with an air of the original and away from the mandarin of the Profondo EDP. It feels very clean, transparent, and airy with sparkling citrus notes. In the development, it resembles the Profondo EDP more than I initially perceived, yet at the same time it’s lighter, stimulating, and fresher, less ‘synthetic/sweet’, with a more versatile and less loud vibe. Yes, something mineral, but with a very cool accord that they already introduced in the Parfum and distinct from the EDP, but in this EDT it’s lightened up, almost bubbly, resulting in a very enjoyable scent. Good performance for being fresh and an EDT; it lasts me about 6 hours, with good projection for the first hour and a half, then a personal bubble that’s well perceptible. It sticks well to clothes. Very good option for heat or informal/semi-formal use; in my case, it replaces the original with this Profondo EDT, which I think is the best of the light AdG line to date. Daytime and leaning masculine. I understand it might not seem ultra-new to those who already have the Profondo EDP, but consider it when that runs out or as an alternative to the original with much better performance. Or for those who don’t have any of the saga and want a very fresh AdG, this is a magnificent choice. Salu2.
As some folks mentioned below, it has that exact ‘overcooked egg’ note found in Light Blue; on my skin, it smells terrible up close, and I don’t like it at all.
The Profondo EDT delivers on its promise. It’s a good revision of the original idea. I prefer a face-lift that revitalizes something classic (like CK One Essence did) rather than a flanker dictated by fashion. This new Profondo is a very good citrus-aquatic, a marine fougère, mineral, and fresh of good quality. For really hot days. Refreshing, Mediterranean, aromatic, masculine, and informal. Impossible not to like it. The 6-hour longevity can happen under ideal conditions (like an air-conditioned office) but drops sooner outdoors in the heat. It’s still good and at a decent price. I must say this simple cologne performs better than its Elixir cousin… though that’s another story. Good option to burn through during the dog days of summer.
As they say around here, it has exactly the same ‘overcooked egg’ touch as Light Blue; on my skin, it smells terrible up close, I don’t like it at all.
Delicious, effervescent, citrusy, and marine, with hints of seaweed; it creates an aura of well-being. Absolutely summery, it reminds me of Light Blue Intense by D&G and the AdG EDP for the mineral and salty note. Beautiful bottle with sky or sea color.
Delicious, effervescent, citrusy, and marine, with hints of algae; it generates a sense of well-being for the senses. Absolutely summery, it reminds me of Light Blue Intense by D&G and the ADG EDP for the mineral and salty note. Beautiful bottle with the color of the sky or the sea.
Just tried it and it smells very similar to Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue Intense, just a bit less salty. The citrus is very noticeable at first before giving way to marine notes. Short duration for my taste.
Excellent fragrance, I loved it; I feel it’s a combination of the classic AdG EDT and the Profondo EDP, like a mix of marine and citrus that makes you feel very fresh. The bad ratings I see around seem strange to me, but everyone has their opinion. I recommend it blindly.
Acqua di Gio Profondo EDT is citrusy, aromatic, and aquatic. Fresh opening with mandarin and grapefruit, sparkling and pleasant, before moving to aquatic, aromatic, and slightly woody notes with the DNA of the line. It’s recognizable but lighter, ideal for spring and summer, beach, or casual situations like school and work. On me, it lasted close to 7 hours, but with a lighter trail than the EDP. It’s not cheap and the price is close to the EDP, so for me, the EDP is better. This one is more usable almost year-round due to having more body, while the EDT is more summery. It smells rich and there are tastes for everyone, try it and decide. I like it, but it doesn’t surpass the EDP.
Acqua di Giò Profondo Eau de Toilette (EDT) is a citrus, aromatic, and aquatic fragrance. It has a fresh citrus opening, similar to tangerine and grapefruit. This phase is very pleasant and sparkling, then giving way to aquatic, aromatic, and slightly woody notes, with the DNA of the Profondo line. Its scent is recognizable, only that this version is a bit lighter, so ideal for spring and summer, beach outings, casual situations, school, work, etc. Regarding longevity, it stayed on me for close to 7 hours, but with a lighter trail than the Eau de Parfum (EDP) version. Regarding price, it’s not cheap and isn’t far from the EDP price, so for me the EDP is better. Regarding use, the EDP is more usable almost all year because it has more body, while the EDT, being lighter, is more of a spring or summer scent. What can’t be denied is that it smells very rich and there are tastes for everyone, try it and decide if you like it. I like it, but I think it doesn’t surpass the EDP.
Mysterious opening, but the dry-down is super recognizable as the classic EDT. Not worth it for the price. Lasts very little; after two hours, it’s gone, even though my skin usually stretches out perfumes a lot. A disappointment.
The release order of the line is curious: first EDP, then Parfum, and now EDT; it does fulfill its role as the lightest and freshest version. It has the best citrus opening of all the Profundos—a juicy, acidic lemon that quickly yields to lavender (a fougère touch) and calone, that ‘egg’ note that bothers you at first but you get used to and enjoy. The composition is good, but it’s the shortest-lasting of the family; mind you, I don’t tend to overvalue longevity, but after half an hour, you have to press your nose to the skin. Totally summery, ideal for walks or short activities unless you reapply. Got it for 75 dollars; I think there are better options at this price for daily use. 6/10.
Tested two sprays on skin. While I have the Profondo EDP as my summer favorite, this version feels like a blend of that with Light Blue Intense: the sharp freshness is softened to give a more aquatic touch with seaweed notes. I still prefer the EDP for its elegance, but for daily wear, this works great. I got the 50ml for 30€ on sale.
