It’s already available at the Corte. Tested on blotter. The note that stands out the most and lasts is the licorice, a scent similar to black gumdrop. I haven’t worn it, so I won’t talk about performance. Cheers.
Hyper-realistic licorice bomb, it’s on my wishlist.
I bought several things from Penhaligon’s, and the girl made a decant of this fragrance for me because it caught my attention. On blotter, it seemed like a licorice bomb, but I decided to give it a second chance on skin, and I’m very glad. Reducing it to ‘smells like licorice’ is unfair. That powerful opening doesn’t reflect on my skin; it settles as a very spiced wood, like an old spice cabinet and tea. That vintage touch is always accompanied by fennel and licorice, preventing it from falling into a closed or humid smell. I can easily imagine it as the fragrance of a vampire in an old Lisbon palace, a great library with yellowed books. I wish the green tea lasted longer. This ‘vintage’ touch might not please everyone; although I’m not in favor of limiting fragrances by age, here I advise caution. It’s not a beast in projection or trail; after three hours, I only feel it close to the skin. I think being moderate goes in tune with its spirit. Without a doubt, it seems aristocratic, very in line with the house. Different, magnetic, mysterious. On the right person, it will cause broken hearts.

I bought a few Penhaligon’s items, and the assistant prepared a decant of this fragrance for me since I was curious. Honestly, testing it on blotter felt like pure licorice bomb, but I decided to give it a second chance on my skin. I’m so glad I did. I can confidently say that reducing this perfume to just ‘smells like licorice’ is unfair and inaccurate. That powerful initial licorice note doesn’t translate to my skin. Instead, it settles into a highly spiced wood scent reminiscent of an old wooden drawer where spices and tea were stored. That vintage touch is constantly accompanied by fennel and licorice, preventing it from smelling musty or damp. I can easily imagine it as a fragrance for a vampire living in a palace like Quinta da Regaleira in Lisbon—a grand library filled with wooden shelves and yellowed books. I wish the green tea note were more long-lasting and pronounced. Keep in mind that this ‘vintage’ vibe might not suit everyone. While I’m not one to limit fragrances by age, in this specific case, I do advise caution. It’s also not a beast in terms of projection or sillage; after three hours, I barely detect it close to the skin. I think being moderate fits the spirit of the fragrance perfectly. It certainly feels aristocratic, very much in line with the house’s style. Different, magnetic, mysterious. This perfume on the right person will cause broken hearts.

I love it on my boyfriend’s skin; it’s a licorice scent that keeps a bergamot tea very fresh and unique (it has a difficult skin where perfumes don’t always stick, highlighting green and acidic notes). However, on me, it smells like a hyper-realistic licorice candy, a bit powdery. A bit much.
It’s exquisite. It lasts about 3 to 4 hours on my skin.
The first thing I noticed was a dense scent, somewhere between honey, smoke, and spices. Looking at the notes, I think it’s licorice, something I’ve never tried before. It’s very feminine, but I don’t see it as easy to wear. From the Afternoon Routes collection, it’s one of the ones I liked the least, along with Empressa.
