I made the mistake of letting myself be swayed by a YouTube video recommending it as an overlooked gem, based on the fact that its sister, Euphoria by Calvin Klein, is one of my favorite perfumes. I bought it blind without reading the notes, and now I understand why I didn’t like it: its main note is plum, which I can’t stand. It happened to me with Olympea Legend too, almost identical; I had to gift it because I can’t handle the plum scent, it gives me nausea (first time this happened with these two). I’m not saying they’re bad for those who like that note, but definitely not for me. Moral of the story: before buying blind, stop by here to check the notes.
It doesn’t say it has oud, but it smells like oud… A very unisex perfume, nothing for blind buys. It smells to me of oriental woods bathed in honey, reminding me of some Lattafa. The dry down is very warm and sweet, but the opening is complex: no fruits or flowers, just smoky woods. Personally, I find it beautiful, with that dark, consistent, dense, and interesting imprint, but I understand it might turn off many people.
This discontinued scent is a dense, sweet perfume dominated by the opulence of amber and honey. At first, the tangerine shines but fades quickly, leaving behind that honey and amber dry down that I love so much. In the first few minutes, the blend strangely reminds me of Coca-Cola. I can’t quite detect the floral notes or the trail, though they are there, just light. If I’m looking for an organic comparison in the heart phase, it sometimes smells like a caramelized crème brûlée, without the milky dessert touch but with an added resinous note. Fortunately, its sillage is moderate despite the extreme sweetness, and it lasts 9-10 hours on my skin. I wear it in very cold winters; although the prominent honey was initially aggressive, it’s now a staple in my collection. Scent 7/10, Longevity 9.5/10, Sillage 7/10, Value -/10, Versatility 5/10, Packaging 8/10 (refilling the 100ml without breaking the bottle is a nightmare). Would I buy it again? Probably, if I could.
