Descripción
Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria is a citrus fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk. The top notes reveal Calabrian bergamot and petit grain; the heart unfolds with ginger and cardamom; and the base notes close the olfactory pyramid with white musk and woody notes.

A Mediterranean fragrance. Fresh, soft, clean, and luminous. Spring and summer vibes. Unisex and even for the whole family. A versatile, delicate cologne. It has quality and is incredibly addictive, with ginger harmonized with citrus notes making it sparkling. I find it very pleasant and distinguished. The white musk gives it fixation and a very distinct Mediterranean soap touch. If you’re looking for a quality cologne with essences that remind you of a Mediterranean garden bathed in sunlight, this could be the scent to kindly accompany you all day. Plus, there are great deals at various perfumeries. A fragrance with its own light. I love it.

The Allegories vary quite a bit in quality; some deliver, others fall short. Calabria Bergamot works perfectly: it’s the ideal choice for anyone seeking a summery, colorful, and fresh bergamot without those usual harsh, acidic citrus notes. It’s a pure citrus that captures the fruit’s best qualities, with refreshing top notes of peel and pulp. I remember when I first tried bergamot paired with seafood pasta and fruit salad; it’s a realistic scent that’s hard to recreate today. Here, it’s beautifully composed to be approachable. It smells like skin and oil—pulpous, creamy, with a delicious bitter edge naturally sweetened. It’s fresh but not in an obvious way; summery yet with body, volume, and presence. The sparkling dry-down smells like naturally sweet, happy lemon, quickly leaving behind the effervescent accents. There are hints of lime, lemon, and orange peel so colorful they remind me of flowers or lemon sugars, always with that bitter green oil. I gifted this to my mother, and while she doesn’t wear it with much passion, I absolutely love how it suits her. It’s surprisingly dense and colorful, as if wearing flowers. The citrus notes are very persistent and crisp. Performance is good; with generous application, it has a great trail and longevity better than expected.
The Allegories are a mess of performance and quality. Some deliver, others don’t… some are colognes priced like brand-name EDTs, while others are true luxury EDTs. In Calabria Bergamot, everything works as it should. It’s an option that makes life easier for bergamot lovers seeking something summery, colorful, and fresh, but far from those harsh, acidic, short-lived citrus bombs. It’s a pure citrus, but where they get the best: the skin oils, the refreshing pulp. Years ago, I tried bergamot with seafood pasta and fruit salad. It’s an aroma hard to replicate. I understand it’s not easy to recreate something so realistic today. Here, it’s nicely dressed up to be friendly. It’s a bergamot all skin and oil, no hard rind, pulpy, creamy… with that delicious, slightly naturally sweet bitter point, not sugary. It’s fresh, but not obviously so; summery, yet with body, volume, and presence. The opening is sparkling, smelling like a very natural, happy sweet lemon, but soon leaves behind the effervescent citrus accents. There are notes of lime, lemon, orange peel… so colorful it makes me think of flowers. Sometimes like lemon drops. But always with that green, bitter, delicious skin oil. I gifted it to my mom, and she uses it without much passion, but I love how it suits her. Surprisingly dense and colorful, as if wearing flowers. The citrus notes are very persistent and sharp. Performance is good. If you apply a little, it has good projection and longevity, better than expected.
Calabria Bergamot is an exquisite classic citrus cologne, unisex and of excellent quality. I typically wear it in summer and during the day; it’s perfect for the office since its soft scent is noticeable only up close.
Calabria Bergamot is a classic, high-quality, unisex citrus cologne. I always wear it in summer and during the day; it’s perfect for the office because it’s soft and noticeable only up close.
Beast mode. One of the few unisex scents that really grab me. Perfect for summer 🍋.
The scent is mesmerizing: clean and fresh, but it feels more like a post-shower splash rather than a lasting fragrance—it simply doesn’t last.
The scent catches me; clean and fresh, but it’s more of a post-shower water that doesn’t last long.
Smells great; starts a bit bitter/acidic and dry, then turns juicy and sweet with typical Aqua Allegoria nuances. It’s a citrus you almost can’t dislike. The problem is that after 30 minutes, it becomes a skin scent. Many citrus fragrances do this: they don’t disappear, but you have to press your nose to them to smell them. I used only two sprays, and this type of perfume works well with more. Knowing what you’re buying and if you can get it cheap, it’s not bad, but I already have similar ones.
Guerlain’s Bergamot is citrusy, aromatic, fresh, and spiced. The opening is delicious: semi-sweet, almost natural citrus with herbal and ginger notes. After the initial burst, the sweetness drops and it becomes more musky and woody, but the citrus and ginger remain clear. It’s for daytime use, giving energy and good vibes; I’ve loved it for weekends or when I want to relax. I was surprised by the longevity; it lasts almost 10 hours despite being a citrus, though it doesn’t leave much of a trail, just a light breeze now and then. Totally unisex, I recommend it to men and women who enjoy citrus.
Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria Bergamot is a citrus, aromatic, fresh, and slightly spicy fragrance. The opening is delicious with semi-sweet, almost natural citrus notes accompanied by herbal and spicy accents, mainly ginger. After the initial phase, the sweetness fades into a more musky and woody stage, yet the citrus and ginger remain distinctly perceptible. It’s primarily a daytime scent—the kind that brings energy and good vibes; I’ve loved wearing it on weekends or whenever I want to feel relaxed. As for longevity, it performed very well; for a citrus, it lasts nearly 10 hours without leaving a heavy trail, though you can occasionally catch a light breeze of it. It’s completely unisex, so I recommend it to men and women who enjoy citrus fragrances.
Sparkling, citrusy bergamot with just the right touch of sweetness at the start, followed by a spicy ginger and woody base. A nice, simple, unisex scent with moderate projection lasting about 7 hours on my skin. I recognize the quality and citrus lovers will adore it, but it didn’t win me over. Scent 5.5/10, Longevity 7/10, Sillage 7/10, Value 6/10, Versatility 5/10, Packaging 9.5/10. Would I buy it again? No.
Exquisite Guerlain citrus fragrance. For those who love citrus, especially lemon (my favorite is Dior’s Eau Sauvage), this Aqua Allegoria is a delight. Clearly unisex; I wear it and so does my mom. It lasts very little, so you have to reapply quite a bit if you want it to stick around.
Smells like freshly cut lemon, but it fades in an instant; leaves no trace on the skin.
PURE BERGAMOT Follows the theme ‘this smells exactly like what it’s called’ of the Aqua Allegoria. And that’s it: bergamot. I like it a lot, as I usually like all these fragrances for their quality. Although none of them kill me for now. You feel a bergamot in the foreground mixed with green background notes, and way in the back, something extremely soft and almost imperceptible spicy note. The woody base notes aren’t felt at all. A lovely and quality bergamot, but not much more than that.
What a fresh perfume. You can tell the ingredients are high quality. It’s not a beast mode; but it’s so pleasant to use. It gives that sensation of refreshing every time you feel it. It’s a 10/10 leaving longevity aside (it doesn’t pass 4 hours). I totally recommend it.
Of the entire Aqua Allegoria collection, this is the one I’ve liked the least so far. Although its aroma is pleasant, its trail is non-existent; it’s like a cologne with no presence; you have to press your nose against your wrist to feel it; its longevity is also very short, I’d say about 4 hours. We can find its aroma in countless fragrances with better performance for less money; in Spain, the 125ml bottle costs approx. 59€. Sincerely, I don’t think this perfume is worth it. Definitely not for me.
I love its sharpness so much that I forget its poor longevity. And within the commercial or designer world, none has the note quality and minimalism of this one, perhaps Dior in terms of quality. Perfect for using on an extremely hot day when the sun hits the skin hard. Super refreshing, it makes you want to drink it. It’s been a while since a fragrance caused me that impact, that impression and satisfaction; the last time was with Erba Pura just for its opening… As for the aroma, for me, it’s above the typical summer ones like DH Cologne, DHS, VPH, Light Blue, etc., which feel very piercing and even remind me of car air fresheners or liquid soaps. Ideal for layering; a good example is using it as a base over Givenchy Gentleman Cologne; they make an excellent duo for a summer night. To highlight how much I like it, for me, it’s above Bergamotto di Calabria.
Fresh but leaning towards a more masculine scent. The bergamot is the only note you feel most of the time; after a while, when it dries down, you perceive a bit of woodiness. But, beyond that, it passes without making an impression. And for heat, it absolutely doesn’t hold up in longevity.
A marvelous perfume, delicious. It’s the combination of two fragrances everyone likes: at first, a lemon caramel very much in the style of Mancera’s Lemon, and when it dries down, CK One. I don’t think there’s anyone who won’t like this perfume; very enjoyable in hot weather. The longevity is appropriate for a quality citrus.
A wonderful and elegant cologne; the bergamot is so realistic. I use these Aqua Allegoria before putting on any eau de parfum from my collection. Just as it’s written, it makes you want to drink it; it’s fresh and pleasant for hot days.
I have a bottle saved, half-used, for over a year. The air has made it very long-lasting and projected, but also VERY SWEET. It remains a sparkling, vibrant citrus with that slightly woody and musky base that makes it linear—I LOVE that; it lacks those repulsive bases like ambroxan…
My favorite fragrance; I bought it at the airport without knowing anything about it, and since then it’s been in my top tier. I love it; it’s invigorating, a burst of freshness with an exquisite bergamot. It smells like a refined person; I’ve received compliments because people are intrigued, it doesn’t smell like other perfumes… The only downside is it doesn’t last long on my skin 🙁
It hits like a blast of pure lemon at first, which made me hesitate: is this it? Just a single citrus accord. But Guerlain never fails, and then it surprises you with something sweet, softening the acidity with a touch of ginger and cardamom—very pleasant. It’s a perfume that evolves, which I love, but I think you need to smell it in both moments to know if you’ll really like it.
