I already reviewed this before: although it doesn’t last on the skin, on clothes it’s a different story. It leaves a soft, citrusy, and green scent that can even hang around longer.

  • I’m very disappointed, as usually happens with this brand. It lasts nothing, not even in summer. It smells like cheap detergent-bitter lemon, with no notes of rose, geranium, or verbena. Is it worth €50 if you have to douse yourself to make it last two hours? There’s a verbena by Yves Rocher for €12 that smells the same, lasts longer, and is less lemony. Better try the Yves Rocher one. I prefer the yellow citrus verbena or the summer edition with mint, though both still last a short time and cost a fortune.

  • Citronella in a bottle: rough, vinegary, and salty. It numbs your tongue like chewing bitter lemon leaves, and by the end, you’ll want to down a liter of limoncello. It doesn’t smell like lemon balm; it’s pure lemon with the texture of a yellow summer candle meant to scare off mosquitoes.

  • Right after you apply it, it smells super strong, like lemon air freshener. Once I wore it fresh, people asked if I’d sprayed bug repellent. Another time, they looked at me weird and asked what I smelled like. It’s true that once the initial citrus blast passes, the essence transforms and for a while you’re immersed in a Mediterranean field with all its scents. The bad part is that this countryside journey is very short: in less than an hour, you smell nothing. I see it as a perfume that’s way too expensive for such poor longevity.

There’s nothing to say about this perfume except that it smells like lemon, but a bad one, like an air freshener. After half an hour, I can’t smell it on my skin anymore, and you have to reapply it constantly if you want to catch the scent. Sometimes it even gives me a headache; my husband thinks it smells better, fresh and citrusy, so I think I’ll give it to him since it just doesn’t convince me. Plus, the price is high considering the poor quality… a real letdown.

There’s no point with this perfume; I only smell cheap lemon, like an air freshener. After half an hour, I feel nothing on my skin and have to reapply constantly. Sometimes it gives me a headache; my husband likes it better—fresh and citrusy—so I think I’ll give it to him since it doesn’t quite convince me. Also, the price is high considering the poor quality… a real letdown.

  • Fresh and pleasant fragrance, special for summer, which I searched for a long time since they don’t carry the line in my country. Finally got it, but it was a disappointment: not because of the scent, but due to insignificant longevity and sillage. After half an hour, nothing is detectable. Excessive price for the performance.

  • Fresh and pleasant, ideal for summer, but a letdown for not finding it in my country. I managed to get it, but it was a mistake: the longevity and sillage are insignificant. Nothing noticeable after half an hour. Excessive price for what it delivers.

I agree with the reviews. I can’t believe it: L’Occitane’s flagship scent has been reduced to a Mercadona room freshener. It smells like cheap, invasive, heavy lemon. It doesn’t even feel fresh. If you want something similar, go for 4711—it’s much cheaper and better done. From L’Occitane, what truly smells exquisite is their makeup remover oil, an addiction. Very disappointed with this perfume and the poor presentation of the Provenza line.

I agree with the reviews. I can’t believe the flagship L’Occitane perfume is this Mercadona air freshener. It smells like cheap, invasive, and cloying lemon—not even fresh. If you want something like this, go for 4711; it’s cheaper and better made. From L’Occitane, what smells exquisite is their makeup remover oil, a true addiction. Very disappointed with this perfume and Provenza’s poor debut.

  • Fresh scent with citrus and lemon grass notes, ideal for summer. The downside is the longevity, max 3 hours, disappointing given its high price.

  • Fresh scent with citrus and lemon balm notes, perfect for summer. The downside is it lasts a maximum of three hours, which is disappointing given its high price.

In a world where longevity is everything, L’Occitane Verveine is the beauty of the ephemeral. A burst of citrusy green verbena, like a glass of iced lemonade for the moment, not for the whole day. Its balance is impeccable and its purity unmatched. There’s no complexity, just immediate freshness. It’s a flash of an hour of glory before vanishing like a breeze. I love that honesty: it doesn’t promise eternity, just a quick olfactory reset for hot days. Its value isn’t the hours, but the quality of the instant. It invites you to reapply, turning the short duration into a refreshing ritual. It’s a gem for those who love subtle and transient pleasures.

In a world where longevity rules, there’s beauty in the ephemeral. For me, L’Occitane Verveine embodies that philosophy: I appreciate its fragility. It’s a burst of vibrant, green citrus verbena, luminous like a glass of iced lemonade for the moment, not for the whole day. Its balance is impeccable; nothing is missing or excessive. Over the years, L’Occitane has tried to innovate, but nothing surpasses the purity of this classic version. There’s no complexity, just immediacy and harmony. It’s Provencal wabi-sabi: yes, it lasts very little, barely an hour before fading away. And I love it. It’s a fleeting spark, an unforgettable pleasure that embodies that philosophy. It doesn’t seek to last, but to revitalize the spirit like a breeze. It’s perfect for hot days or for a quick olfactory reset. While others chase beast-mode performance, I celebrate its honesty. Its value isn’t in the hours, but in the quality of the experience. It invites reapplication, turning its lack of longevity into a refreshing ritual. L’Occitane Verveine proves that beauty comes in many forms: sometimes the greatest joy is the light freshness of an aroma that lights up the day and leaves, leaving behind cleanliness and optimism. For lovers of the subtle and transient, it’s a gem.

  • rxsaliaerika

The most expensive mosquito repellent I’ve ever bought, a total disappointment compared to what I expected from the brand.

  • Absurdly expensive eau de toilette for what it offers. I had it in 2012; it smells good and is fresh, but it doesn’t last or project at all. There are better, cheaper options in citrus and aromatic waters with verbena. Not worth it or the money.

The most expensive mosquito repellent I’ve ever bought, a total disappointment for what I expected from the brand.

  • Love it: it’s luminous, fresh, and super clean. Smells like a spa, though it doesn’t last long, like many beautiful things do.
