Wind Wood by Mancera

This is a real Mancera. I tried it at an airport and now I own it. Many people think it smells like Dior because of the violet, but it’s softer and more embracing. The bottle has a magnet, comes with a pouch, and has a great sprayer—total quality. I wear it in July without issues for everything: going out, work, grocery shopping… I can’t remember anything so versatile. It’s not for kids; it’s for experienced wearers. Scent: 9, longevity: 7 (2025 batch, better to let it mature), projection: 8 (people smell it at 2 meters), price: 89€ on sale. Never buy blind, but many people love it.

A beautiful, refined, and elegant fragrance, rare and hard to find. You can tell the quality of the ingredients, and the dry down is even better. It’s addictive and puts a smile on my face when I apply it. I liked it more than Mancera’s Cedrat Boise Intense, which I also own but was slightly disappointed by due to its poor performance. I highly recommend this Wind Wood.

Mancera has created a work of art here, a fragrance so delicious it’s a real gem and almost no one mentions it—I find it incredible, definitely one of the brand’s best. It has everything: scent, longevity, projection, and compliments. I perceive it as very green, like wet grass with woods, it’s a delight. It works for any occasion, from informal to formal, it won’t let you down. I recommend it a lot, it’s a hidden gem 💎.

I wear this gem every time I go to campus, on cool afternoons or evenings near the woods. Its scent is exquisite, and since I wear a suit to work in the mornings, it’s the perfect match for these scenarios. I love how the breeze revives the scent and gives you a halo of tranquility. I agree with Eletus: definitely, this should be the bridge fragrance to explore the niche world, not the overused Cedrat Boise.

Amazing! Nothing like Fahrenheit. This is greener and leaves a wonderful aroma. It clings to the skin for about twelve hours, with strong bursts in the first four. You can definitely smell the violet, vetiver, and a soft yet present leather. I have the screw-top version and it works perfectly.

As many say, it’s a good perfume, ideal for spring and maybe autumn, though I think there are better options for that second season. It didn’t blow my mind immediately, but it’s grown on me, and I like it enough not to sell it (not even to my wife). The opening mixes dry green herbs from the edges of forest paths, bright and crisp, with a citrus touch reminiscent of tangerine peels. This part isn’t the most pleasant at first, but it evolves quickly. The violet here is fresh, sweet but not tar-like; it’s greener, androgynous, wild, even slightly metallic, and less intrusive. Then cedar and leather kick in, adding character and drying out the scent without losing that comforting vibe. To me, all Mancera perfumes share a common base, something like Chanel’s aldehydes: a creamy, spicy musky note that blends with the dry, woody facets until it sits right on the skin. It’s the most I’ve liked from the French house so far. It’s masculine, elegant, and versatile: it has character for standout moments but stays fresh enough for casual wear in mild weather. My sample is from last year, and while it seems Mancera has tweaked things a bit, the performance is acceptable and the scent is well-crafted. The price is high, maybe the only downside, because at those prices you could always ask for more. It won’t please everyone, but it’s delicate and well-constructed.

Don’t buy blind; I haven’t found anyone who dislikes it, but maybe the projection keeps some away. For what it offers, the price is reasonable. Rather than describing notes, here’s my opinion after sufficient use. SCENT: One of the best I’ve heard; those ‘alien’ green notes give a robust opening (especially on clothes), stabilizing after 15 minutes, just right for heading out. The combination works, and the development is delightful all the way down to the skin. PROJECTION: Ideal for winter but works well in summer too. 2-3 sprays last 6 hours indoors; on skin, it’s noticeable for the first 3 hours, on clothes 8 or more. Medium trail, provided it’s a legal batch, because cheap fakes are everywhere and people fall for them. Satisfying, though not spectacular. VERSATILITY: Very versatile, good for the office or formal events, sits well, though to stand out you need to overapply. 5-6 sprays on clothes and you’re set for hours. Be careful not to overdo it on fabrics. UNISEX: No! Totally masculine, though debatable. I don’t see any women wearing it here. BUY BLIND: Maybe a decant first, try it 4-5 times in different climates. The projection holds up but isn’t extensive, which discourages buying the bottle, but in my opinion, it deserves a spot in a personal fresh collection. PRICE: Between 120-138€ for 100ml, sometimes on offer at 100€, hard to find good deals here compared to Europe, but it’s worth it. Wish it cost less. WHERE TO WEAR: Where you feel like it, works everywhere. INGREDIENTS: Very high quality, you can tell from opening the box. The big downside is the projection; wish it improved in future batches, because if it projected like Red Tobacco, it would be incredible! WOMEN’S OPINION: I’ve never received a negative comment; all women like it, and compliments never run out. At the office, it’s generated the most compliments alongside Men in Black. Pity neither projects what they should. FINAL THOUGHTS: For those who say it’s weak, check the batches you’re buying. For me, it’s better than the hyped Cedrat Boise. Rating: 9.5/10.

If it’s inexplicable, how can you say it has no performance? If they’re crying their eyes out, for the love of God. It’s a perfume you can’t apply to your chest or under your neck, or you’ll suffocate. It’s a bomb that requires caution, and they say it doesn’t last half an hour… It’s undeniably masculine, sometimes too much for my taste, with that patchouli on the border of tolerable and a deep, enchanting violet, like Fahrenheit but loaded with steroids. You can really smell the moss, leather, and vetiver; it’s an amber fragrance on all sides. It doesn’t quite reach old barber shop territory; it leans more toward wood and doesn’t really evoke a forest. It’s a very rich scent, but limited by its power and exaggerated masculinity. For me, it’s not for daytime because it can be overwhelming, but for night or a date, you won’t have competition with this work of art. That said, when you spend your hard-earned money on something of such quality, buy from an authorized retailer and don’t gamble, because otherwise, the tears will come.

2020 Batch Review: Starts citrusy mixed with woods, the opening is potent. After 10 minutes, that beautiful violet emerges; combined with the woods and leather, it gives off a gasoline-like scent similar to Fahrenheit, but here it’s softer and woodier. To me, it’s like a mix of Fahrenheit + Terre d’Hermès. This phase lasts 4 hours projecting well. By the fifth hour, that ‘kerosene’ tone fades, settling skin-scent with just the wood and faint traces of musk, lasting until 8-10 hours. Good performance. Ideal for spring and autumn; there are better options for winter, and it’s too heavy for summer. More mature than youthful. A bit pricey at the official price (€120), but in Spain you can find it online for under €100, which, given its performance and quality, makes it a highly recommended purchase if you like these scents. P.S.: After a year of maceration, it’s super long-lasting, over 12 hours.
