Unknown Pleasures by Kerosene

This is my signature fragrance. From the first time I smelled it, I was obsessed. Gourmand citrus is what I love most in the world, and this is an absolute bomb. The opening is loud, with a potent lemon almost resembling pure gasoline. Then it evolves into that lemon pie, with green tea notes emerging and the sweeter touches of vanilla, caramel, and honey appearing. Totally unisex and ideal for fresh autumn climates. Without a doubt, Kerosene has a place in my heart. I own several fragrances, and this is my favorite, as I’ve said.

Smells like lemon candies. In my case, it’s not something I’d wear.

A very realistic, subtle, and delicious lemon opening, followed by caramel and vanilla… the olfactory experience is flawless. It’s perfect for autumn and winter, not a summery citrus scent.

My current favorite in this citrus/gourmand line (lemon tart). In terms of originality and longevity, it has surpassed other niche scents like Lira and the hit Devotion. It’s much more acidic and sparkling at the top than those others, which surprised me because I thought I’d prefer a sweetened citrus or lemon caramel over something acidic and even bitter (it also has a tea note); however, it feels bold, fun, and exciting. The sweetness is present too, but it has a special complexity and a rebellious character. I’m curious to try more perfumes from Kerosene.

After months with this perfume in my collection and using it many times, I can say I love it for what it is, not what I expected. To my nose, it has one of the most beautiful and realistic lemon notes, a zesty top with the white pith included, too realistic. I love it! I clearly appreciate the vanilla and the creaminess everyone talked about; I’m certain it smells like meringue and a creamy mix of lemon with condensed milk to me—simply gorgeous, addictive, I can’t stop smelling it. The only thing I never manage to detect is the cookie crust or the ice cream cone. Do you guys smell it? For real? If so, I think that’s incredible; I tend to think it’s an exaggeration, but it doesn’t take away from this gourmand’s beauty. Even though I never get to smell the crust, it doesn’t matter anymore. This beautiful scent is one of my favorites and has earned a spot in my perfume heart.

What a gorgeous fragrance this is: sweet, citrusy, and vanilla with that waxy honey note (listed on the card as beeswax, not honey), giving it a ‘fluffy’ character like a waxed cloud. I absolutely love it! Especially because it offers something different from Lira, Sweet Pastry in Paris, Cookiecrunch, or Love & Crime, which I think don’t even come close to this divine, dense, long-lasting creation with excellent projection. The best part is that you wear it all day and keep thinking: ‘Am I the one smelling so good?’ Unmatched, and the ice cream cone note (also mentioned in the brand’s description) makes it even more succulent, almost edible… It’s perfect! Ayyy, if only I could drink it… 😉 100% recommended and a great purchase.
