Siesta by Ramon Monegal is a musky floral woody fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2023, the nose behind this creation is Ramon Monegal. • This brand captivates me every day. Now with Siesta: its name doesn’t evoke rest or sleep; quite the opposite, it starts with an electrifying, pure lemon, like squeezing it by hand to season food, with huge potency. This lasts about ten minutes before giving way to the heart and base notes. After the fireworks, the base of honey, cedar, vanilla, and a touch of iris comes through, though iris is just an accompaniment since honey, vanilla, and lemon dominate. In the final phase, starting from the third hour, the scent balances: notes of vetiver, tonka bean, and musk, turning it into a creamy, spiced experience with faint citrus touches. For me, it’s a perfume you need to mature on your skin and nose, as it might not grab your attention or please you at first. In my case, it was a love at first sniff. A versatile perfume, a mix of cologne and spicy floral according to its notes. It’s definitely different, good longevity (8-9 hours on my skin), suitable for all year round without issues (not for extreme cold), completely unisex, for dressing up a bit more, and for people with experience in niche fragrances. Conclusion: another one I like. Aroma 5.5/10, Sillage 6.5/10, Longevity 7/10, Projection 7/10 (first 2 hours).

Of the times I’ve used it, once the bergamot was very intense and another time I smelled a lot of honey (I don’t know why). What falls in love with is its citrus side. It’s a very elegant fragrance that I find hard to wear because I usually dress more sporty, haha. Anyway, recommended.

  • Opens with a super-realistic sour lime and honey, very similar to Navitus’s Extase de Miel (note: only the honey matches). A few minutes later, something earthy emerges—the vetiver—settling at the base of all that lime and honey; I feel it’s this earthiness that makes the fragrance unique. Honey dominates, with iris lingering at the end, creamy thanks to the sandalwood. It smells completely different on my skin compared to clothes, nothing alike. I mention this because my issue with all Monegal scents is that I suffer from contact dermatitis. It projects massively and lasts about 6-7 hours. I like it for fresh weather, though the lime and honey scent is potent. I give it a 9/10 for aroma: it’s very original, but I don’t like that earthy touch, luckily it only lasts 3 minutes. I’d buy it again… I certainly love this house. If you want a citrus perfume that lasts, this is it.

  • For me, ‘Siesta’ should inspire relaxation, peace, rest, and summer. It should be a light scent, nothing gourmand, more fresh, where soft accords take the lead. I believe a perfume should surprise with its quality and not be a trick. If I label a Cambodian oud and spice blend as ‘Mediterranean Eau de Cologne,’ I’m not a genius, but someone attempting a disrespectful deception. That’s why I refuse to rate it on its own merits.

  • It caught me by surprise; it’s a delicious deception: at first, it’s a bomb of creamy iris with sparkling citrus notes, but after 15 minutes, it changes radically and the protagonist emerges, the VETIVER. To me, it smells a lot like Mon Vetiver by Essential Parfums and other classics in the genre. Maybe there’s a hint of acidity from an added molecular lemon on purpose, but at its core, it offers a strong vetiver scent that lasts over 12 hours. It projects the image of a gentleman from the past, playing with fougère, like almost all compositions where vetiver rules. Mon Vetiver is more cheerful and youthful, and costs three times less. This one is for lovers of that note.

  • Caught me off guard; it’s a deceptive fragrance. The opening is a bomb of creamy iris and sparkling citrus, but after 15 minutes, it completely transforms to reveal the star: vetiver. It smells very much like Mon Vetiver by Essential Parfums and other classics. Maybe there’s a slight acidic note from a molecular lemon, but beyond that strong vetiver scent, it lasts over 12 hours. It projects an image of a distinguished gentleman, leaning into the fougère style like most vetiver-led compositions. Mon Vetiver is more cheerful and youthful, and costs three times less. This one is for lovers of that specific note.

This scent matches the green bottle: citrus, aromatic, and earthy. What a beautiful vetiver, reminds me of my father. I smelled chocolate in it, does anyone else perceive that chocolate accord? The iris and jasmine combination is top. The main notes are cedar, vetiver, and iris; the rest accompanies to let the woods shine. It was a pleasant surprise to know this beautiful green and woody liquid.

  • sakurayfuji

The vetiver here is so unique I’ve never smelled anything like it. That milky green washes away reality and transports me to a limbo between waking and sleeping. I wish I could stay a while longer, succumbing to the temptation of a nap.

With this perfume, your nose sticks to the cap. It’s brutal, that caramelized lemon, woody iris smell… mmm, that touch of tonka, musk, and vetiver. It’s beastly. The worst part is the price 🤣.

  • Aromadicciones

MY GOD! THIS IS IN MY TOP 3! At first, lots of lemon, cedar, and vetiver, which might remind you of a Light Blue. I LOVE IT! After a few hours, the iris comes out, but it’s a caramelized iris with honey, vanilla, and tonka bean. It’s definitely not a sweet, syrupy perfume. IT’S A PERFUME! You know Monegal made it, very Flamenco style but in a different direction. I need a giant bottle!

  • Aromadicciones

OMG! THIS IS IN MY TOP 3, FOR SURE! STARTING OUT, A LOT OF LEMON, CEDAR, AND VETIVER, WHICH MIGHT SUDDENLY REMIND YOU OF LIGHT BLUE WITH THAT LEMON AND CEDAR COMBO. I LOVE IT! AFTER A FEW HOURS, THE IRIS BECOMES MORE PROMINENT, BUT IT’S A CARAMELIZED IRIS WITH EDA, HONEY, VANILLA, AND TONKA BEAN. IT’S NOT SWEET OR FRUITY AT ALL. IT’S A PERFUME! YOU KNOW MONEGAL DID THIS! VERY IN THE STYLE OF FLAMENCO BUT TAKING IT IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION 💚 I NEED A BIG BOTTLE OF THIS FRAGRANCE.

  • The name Siesta fits perfectly: it’s a fragrance that hugs and calms you. It starts with a sweet touch of lemon-caramel and honey, giving way to a woody iris, reinforced by vetiver and cedar. The iris is capricious and sometimes fleeting, but here the cedar and vetiver keep it grounded, all supported by ionones that don’t detract at all. The woody and slightly powdery accords rest on a creamy base of vanilla and musk that is familiar, pleasant, and not cloying. Subtle touches of aldehydes, patchouli, and something reminiscent of coconut round out the experience, confirming it’s a very good perfume. Cheers!

  • How fitting the name Siesta. It envelops and comforts, conveying tranquility and being very tasty. It starts like honey and lemon candies, moves to a woody iris with vetiver and cedar. Iris is hard to handle, but cedar and vetiver preserve it, supported by ionones that don’t detract from the perfume. The slightly powdery woody notes rest on a creamy base of vanilla and musk that isn’t cloying. Touches of aldehydes, patchouli, and a bit of coconut round out a very good perfume.

Polarizing: you either love it or hate it. It’s fresh and warm at the same time. On my skin, it smells like citrus honey with a floral base. I tested it in a decant. Do I own it? I don’t know. It’s pleasant, but I can’t imagine when to wear it.

  • If you want to smell rich, elegant, and refined, this is it. Simply beautiful. Another masterpiece by Don Ramón.

  • If you like iris, this is for you. It opens with an incredible citrus, not sharp but caramelized, enveloped by iris and honey. It’s addictive; I smell it like crazy and the more I smell it, the closer I want to get. Then the citrus fades and the iris comes out with honey and earthy vetiver. The quality of the materials and longevity are spectacular. It’s elegant and versatile for any season except extreme heat. It’s worth it: save money on designer perfumes and buy this jewel. 10/10.

  • I’m obsessed. It evolves a lot, lasts forever, and is super cozy. On my skin, it starts strong, sweet, and a bit sharp, like a woody limoncello. Then it turns lactonic, chocolatey, and coconutty. There’s a three-hour phase where coconut and iris dominate, giving that powdery winter wool sweater vibe. Later, it darkens with dirty woods while keeping black chocolate. At eight hours, it’s vanilla, fruit, and light. It’s my fetish; you have to wear it in moderation and it doesn’t always get compliments, but it makes me feel amazing anywhere.

  • Monegal’s Siesta is a citrus-woody jewel with earthy and powdery touches. It evolves beautifully all day long. It’s super versatile: it shines during the day but can also transform any night. Longevity and projection are top-notch, and the price is totally worth it. It’s a masterpiece that deserves every euro.

In a sea of options where everything gets forgotten, Siesta is that memorable gem that breaks the mold. Ideal for any day, though in extreme heat it might lack a bit of air. The best part is that citrus opening with lemon that lasts and blends with vanilla and honey, creating a delicious dessert-like scent. Then comes a woody-musky phase with a creamy iris, not the main character but very present, adding a softness that surprised me. It fades with elegance, evoking the calm of an afternoon at home, as if you just baked a dessert with close friends.

  • AugustoDoc

In this sea of options, Siesta is a lifesaver. It’s not for extreme heat, but perfect for any other time. It opens with a lasting lemon, blends into vanilla and honey like a delicious dessert, moves through a creamy iris and woody middle that surprises with its softness, and finishes subtly. It’s the calm of an afternoon at home, smelling of a light snack and close company.

  • I’m in love with this fragrance; its price is a shame, it’s excessive. Or maybe not, given the quality it offers.

  • samucel87

This is basically an iris (you identify it quickly) with lemon and a sweet touch of honey. It’s like mixing iris with one of those honey and lemon candies you take in winter when you’re sick. It’s true that it’s a curious, innovative combination, something I’ve never heard before, and it’s very versatile. But it’s not for me.

  • EricDraven

A wonderful fragrance, serious, dry, and in my opinion highly addictive. It’s one of those where you catch yourself sniffing your wrist without caring about the skeptical glances around you. The world of earthy vetiver (oh, what vetiver, by god) meets powdery iris with a touch of honey that rounds everything off. Total success.

  • samucel87

This is basically an iris (you notice it quickly) with lemon and a sweet touch of honey. It’s like mixing iris with those honey and lemon candies you take in winter when you have a cold. It’s a curious and innovative combination, something I’ve never smelled before, and it’s very versatile. But it’s not for me.

  • Siesta delivers on everything a niche perfume should. It begins with a citric, honeyed, and vanilla note (lemon with honey) that initially confuses, giving a sensation of cough medicine or throat lozenge. Immediately, the powdery iris and earthy vetiver enter, masterfully treated, adding elegance without being excessive. As time passes, the woody notes take control, though in the dry-down it maintains the iris and vetiver, making it serious, elegant, very wearable, and addictive. It’s highly evolving and has good performance. Works best in climates that aren’t excessively hot or cold, making it versatile. A great perfume by master Monegal.

  • Personal. I relate it to the surrealism of Dalí in the 30s: very earthy, like the dream desert paintings of Port Lligat. A plain of irised flowers, slightly sweet but not cloying, between earth and honey. It fits me for spring heat. I trust it.

  • Basically iris-honey-lemon-vetiver. The opening is weird, even unpleasant, with a dirty iris that didn’t quite work for me, but after 10-15 minutes, the lemon-honey combo kicks in, making it similar to Naxos in the dry-down, though without that wonderful tobacco note that lasts throughout the fragrance. Good performance, projects little but lasts a long time on skin—easily 8 hours. Personally, I prefer Naxos, but it seems like an original alternative, although I think Monegal has better fragrances overall.

  • A niche fragrance with the quality Monegal deserves. You have to understand its evolution. Starts with a strong lemon note, but the magic appears as it dries down. It carries elegance, sophistication, and maturity. Anyone who smells it knows you know your perfumes and what you want. Highly recommended for hot weather and for smelling different. A 10.

  • A must-have gem for anyone who collects iris and top-tier compositions. Spend $200 on Dior, but buy this instead—it’s better quality in every way, including the box. 10/10.

  • ViceCity990

Powerful perfume. At first, it felt very synthetic, but after a friend wore it a lot, I ended up liking it. I bought it and used it for a while, but then had to throw it away. It became too invasive and lasted way too long—10-12 hours—and I hate it when a scent lasts that long. Plus, the stain on clothes is another story; if a drop falls, it won’t come out even after washing. In short, a good perfume that I never got to like. If they release a cologne version, I’d be running to buy it.
