I’ve enjoyed this gem for several days with a sample from a perfumery in Barcelona. I think the perfumer wanted to ride the Oud wave and mix it with the success of fruity scents like Creed Aventus, but instead of pineapple or apple, it smells incredibly delicious like mango or apricot. It lasts forever on the skin, and you can smell the base of oud. It’s exquisite, radiating class and wealth without being heavy, yet its presence is constant—crisp, with the fruit at the perfect point of ripeness, clean, and a deep oud base. A true jewel… the only downside is the price: 300€ for 50ml. I’m saving it on my wishlist for the future. Note: the fruity scent comes from Osmanthus.
An enigmatic perfume that evolves in two distinct stages. At first, it’s dark and deep with coriander, nutmeg, and Kashmir wood. After ten minutes, it changes: it settles on the skin and releases oud, amber, and vetiver. It reminds me a lot of Tiziana Terenzi’s Nero Oud; it smells of saffron but carries rose which softens it. In the dry down, it becomes very woody and sweet due to the two ouds (Assam and Padong Laos) with vanilla and amber. It’s serious, elegant, and evolves from less to more. It lasts over eleven hours, is versatile for all seasons without being intrusive but definitely present. I see it as geared toward men but it works for everyone. Ideal for formal or semi-formal wear, for people over 30. Scent 9/10, Sillage 8.5/10, Projection 8.5/10, Longevity 9/10.
In the end, it didn’t work for me. At first, it smells sweet and dark; the notes confused me and I didn’t like them at all. The chocolate is barely noticeable, and the oud is that typical spicy RM type. Although the composition from start to finish isn’t bad and feels rich and formal, something just doesn’t convince me or satisfy me. Given the notes, the accords, and the price, I expected something more special. In my opinion, it smells safe and hard to justify the cost. It sits well but projects little, somewhere between moderate and soft. Bottom line: yes, but no.
Copy this: don’t buy blindly. I got the 100ml version. While it’s not a fragrance that breaks the mold, it’s worlds away from commercial. It works year-round if you don’t overapply. It adds seriousness and a touch of mystery. The scent itself isn’t mind-blowing, but you can tell it’s high quality.
It completely blew me away. It smells addictive on my wrist, I’ve gotten tons of compliments, and it lasts all day. A scent with huge personality and originality.
