  • Brutal fragrance, with character and packaging that never stops surprising. The entire ‘Don’t Touch My Oud’ collection deserves more fame for the quality of its oud. This one is woody and smoky throughout. It opens with an apple that softens the initial oud explosion, then the flowers (orange blossom, rose, jasmine) emerge, not distinct but balancing everything, adding freshness and powder. Later, the oud becomes smoky with birch, and finally an ambroxan pushes the trail to prolong it. Lasts and projects a lot. The charm lies in the trail that enchants you little by little. Perfect unisex, though as it dries down it leans more towards the masculine side.

When I started with niche fragrances, oud sounded like something strange to me… until I tried this. It made me an addict immediately. A pure olfactory masterpiece.

Rarely have I fallen in love at first sight like I did with this. I was looking for an oud protagonist, neither disguised nor so complex that it scares people off. This fits perfectly in between: a powerful opening with oud and green apple, without being overpowering. It has a challenging touch but is easy to digest if you know the note. The tart apple accompanies the oud harmoniously, and then subtle florals emerge to bring it to life. Not for blind buys or anyone under 25. I wear it to enjoy without a special occasion, better outdoors than in the office or enclosed spaces. It’s versatile: prefers cold, but with moderation it handles heat. Beast mode performance: 3 sprays are enough, projects to two meters, and lasts over 12 hours on skin and days on clothes. Be careful when reapplying, it instantly regains its power. Undoubtedly, a niche classic that doesn’t ask for compliments but demands respect.

  • It’s the best oud perfume in the world. Period. It’s the only one in the line with a dose of oud from a batch Ramón acquired in Asia through Christian Carbonell; once it runs out, this perfume will disappear forever or be reformulated. He said so in an interview. Incredible perfume. Top 3 of all time.

Very rich, strong, and long-lasting. Hard to get used to if you’ve never smelled an oud before, but it ends up tasting good. It feels right, accompanies you well. High price. Yes, oud is expensive.

Seriously, does this scent remind anyone of “Promise” by Fréderic Malle? I haven’t seen any comments about it in reviews from various channels. I don’t know if it’s my skin or an untrained nose, but to me, they’re quite similar.

  • Let’s start with the description: Packaging: for the price, its presence is average; the plastic makes it look mid-tier despite the size. Bottle: original flask with Monegal seals, magnetic cap—I’d give it an 8-10. Scent: semi-fecal oud opening, sweetened with green apple and citrus; feels high quality. As it dries, the florals (rose and jasmine) emerge, very similar to the floral part of Flamenco. The woods, sweetened with apple, still predominate; it has some similarity to Promise or Oud Aquilaria, perhaps a bit tighter due to the birch, leaning closer to Promise than Oud Aquilaria. The fecal note drops significantly, maintaining a pleasant aroma of putrefied apple on woods, florals, and birch. It lacks refinement due to that untamed, raw oud, like a prince escaping the castle to a tavern for cheap beer to be empathetic with the common folk. Performance: 8-10. Price: under 320 for 100ml is worth it; unparalleled quality.

It reminds me so much of Promise by Frederic Malle, especially the opening… apple and more apple. After a while, the oud starts to show. If I had to choose, I’d pick this over Promise. It has so many more facets. Promise is, for me, apple from start to finish and little else.

  • Alhambra Oud is an outstanding oud fragrance that combines touches of white flowers like jasmine and orange blossom, a soft note of apple, and the elegance of rose. Together, these notes form an addictive work that captivates and enchants from the very first moment. The oud, the most popular note right now, unfolds in this fragrance in an opulent and intense way. It’s not one of those ouds pretending to be friendly and wearable; from the start, we perceive its seriousness and strength. The notes that complement it help make this oud a true, all-encompassing beauty, offering a velvet and sensual sensation that few works achieve. With excellent performance in both longevity and projection, it’s a fragrance I strongly recommend for oud lovers and fans of fine niche perfumery. Ramón Monegal always does wonders, and Alhambra Oud is no exception.

  • It’s a perfume that generates many sensations and is addictive. It doesn’t matter if the projection isn’t beastly because on the skin, it lasts over 10 hours and results in genuine enjoyment for both the wearer and anyone who catches a whiff. The oud here is very well crafted, hitting the sweet spot; it complements the other notes admirably. For me, it’s usable from high-stakes social ceremonies to simply getting up and wanting to carry that aura of feeling it can give you. It’s a fact that a perfume can complement and extend what you already project on the olfactory channel, and since it’s for your own enjoyment, the price becomes irrelevant if you have the means. Remember, no perfume should be bought blindly.

  • Holy glory! It’s my favorite perfume. I fell for it at first sniff and had to own it. It’s spicy, woody, clean, and yet dirty; floral, luminous, and dark. Contradictory just like herself. It has the perfect amount of challenging oud that I enjoy to the max. Lasts a lot, so much that I’d atomize 35 sprays if they didn’t cost 4 euros each. My surroundings usually don’t like it, but screw them, they’re smelling one of the best perfumes that exist. Besides, it makes you feel like a caliph with a palace on the outskirts of Medina during the time of Abderraman II. Nothing they say will reach how this smells to me.

  • Blessed glory. It’s my favorite perfume. I stumbled upon her on social media at first sniff and had to get it. It’s spicy, woody, clean, yet dirty. Floral, luminous, yet dark. Contradictory, just like herself. It has the perfect dose of challenging oud that I can tolerate with immense pleasure. It lasts FOREVER, but I love it so much I’d spray 35 times if each one didn’t cost 4 euros. It usually doesn’t please people in my circle, but screw them. They don’t know they’re smelling one of the best perfumes ever made, in my opinion. Plus, it’s about how it makes you feel: like a Caliph with a palace on the outskirts of Medina during the time of Abderraman II. Nothing I could say would do it justice; this is how it smells to me.

It’s an oud perfume with a lot of guts, but here Monegal shows his mastery, much like Chris Maurice sometimes does, by blending the oud into the olfactory pyramid. A fleeting apple opening, followed by florals and a woody dry down; the journey is mostly quick, never hiding that oud from you. It sits between elegant and animalistic. Those of us who aren’t experts can tell it’s well-made; the nose picks up that there’s something elegant within the woods, fascinating for anyone who loves that vibe. Try it; recommended for beginner oud explorers and advanced noses alike. Good perfume. Cheers. *Not Promise by F. Malle, unless you count the apple coincidence, nor is it Oud Aquilaria. Maybe they’re in the same family, but they’re not clones.

  • Like all artists, Monegal plays with scents to produce varied results. Alhambra Oud is a masterpiece; it’s worth every euro. Upon spraying, it hits you like a slap of dirty apple—wonderful, energizing, and refreshing. Suddenly, panic sets in because after 20 seconds, a deep oud threatens to turn fecal and cling to you for hours… but masterfully, the fragrance balances itself. Within 5 minutes, you’re left with the elegance of an oud that wants to be dirty but shines. It aims to be rough but captivates. Like Nirvana, they wanted to break rules and be misunderstood, creating grunge anthems. Alhambra Oud flirts with being impossible and becomes a usable, versatile masterpiece.
