Shalimar Souffle Intense
Acordes principales
Descripción
Guerlain's Shalimar Souffle Intense is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by perfumer Thierry Wasser. The top notes of bergamot, lemon, and mandarin offer a vibrant citrus opening. The heart reveals the delicacy of orange blossom and jasmine, while the base settles on a warm, enveloping blend of Indian vanilla, Tahitian vanilla, benzoin, and white musk.

Shalimar Souffle Intense is another gem from this house. It’s a shame there are fewer of them around unless you’re willing to burn your credit card and hunt down private, ‘forbidden’ editions. It opens a bit sour and acidic, reminiscent of its sister Eau de Toilette, but quickly those resins settle into an unexpected, soft, delicate base that’s so typical of Guerlain. There’s a touch of leather that gives it a modern lightness, yet over time it evokes the original with that beautiful smoky tone blending citrus and florals. For these times, it’s a beauty—a renewed style of something once perfect and untouchable, with less character but still a bit of an attitude, and it lasts on clothes like crazy. It smells like luxury in palaces where they play the piano and serve you, but only in certain moments, making subtle nods to the Perfect. Those nods come from the musk that boosts the resins and intensifies that magnificent vanilla. Even though it’s been updated and modified, it’s the kind of perfume that makes you look back and wonder why perfumery has changed so much if the beauty lies in the mystery of opening the bottle and recreating the beauty that enters you. I don’t know if to call it Shalimar or the Autumn of Shalimar. I still hold out hope they’ll pay homage to a perfume that will soon be a century old, especially given this bleak and simple landscape.
Delicious. Starts citrusy, then moves to sweetened orange blossom with vanilla and that clean, elegant touch of musk. (This is the Shalimar version I like the most so far). It lasts quite a while with a moderate sillage, nothing suffocating; a super comfortable and feminine fragrance.

Brutal quality, nothing like the original. It smells super unisex on me, with citrus and jasmine making it sophisticated and slightly acidic. I don’t detect any vanilla or benzoin on my skin, so it could easily pass as a subtle summer scent for a man. Tremendous longevity and sillage. It’s deep; when you wear it, you won’t be overlooked.
