I wear my Coucou perfume both in summer and winter. It says 2016 here, but I tested it in 2014. It’s a delicious, subtle, musky, soft, and refined fragrance. I recommend it and the longevity is optimal. J’adore.

  • I tried this year-end edition of ‘Shalimar Souffle de Parfum’ yesterday and I have to admit, although I’m loyal to ‘Guerlain’, this time it disappointed me a bit: on my skin, I didn’t feel the magic of the original, but rather a commercial, overly sweet scent very similar to millions of mass-market best-sellers… Nothing novel or exotic! The longevity is good and the sillage is nice, but the value for money is lacking since it can be replaced by something cheaper. I’d only recommend it if you’re a fan of ‘La Vie Est Belle’ or similar fragrances.

  • @La plus belle: If you look closely, this is a ‘limited series’ or limited edition from 2016, which is why it has that date (if the one you tested in 2014 came in this same bottle, correct me). Although the original fragrance was edited in 2014, there’s also a limited edition from 2015 that I absolutely love and whose bottle is much more beautiful to me than this one. It’s worth noting that Guerlain isn’t the first to do special editions of their fragrances, which hold great value for collectors; being one of the most reworked, their iconic Shalimar is no exception. This can certainly cause some confusion. Cheers.

@Azurilla, you’re right, these are limited editions. Thanks for clarifying; I was confused about the date and bottle because the ingredients are the same, only the packaging changes. The bottles are gorgeous; I loved the 2014 edition I snagged on sale at Cofadisa, complete with box and case—a real treasure. This year it returned with a case but a smaller box, which I didn’t like as much. By the way, I took advantage of the summer without too much heat to wear Shalimar Souffle and felt like a princess; I didn’t go unnoticed and it lasted over 12 hours exquisitely. Cheers.

  • Shalimar Souffle de Parfum. I bought it blind and it didn’t disappoint. It opens with soft, elegant citrus and floral notes; as it dries down, it’s pure vanilla—sweet but not cloying. It comforts me and wraps me in a cloud of cheerful, feminine tenderness. If there’s one thing it evokes, it’s that tenderness. It invites closeness without being sexually aggressive or explicit. The longevity is impressive compared to so many watery perfumes these days, and the sillage is noticeable.
